The shelves are often empty, the food is frequently old, and the prices are now very high. The staff has always been unfriendly -- sometimes even rude -- and changes constantly. But the worst part is that they cheat you: prices on the shelf are sometimes lower than what you pay at the register, you can be charged for things you didn't buy, and if you ask for a receipt by email, they rudely ignore you. I avoid this place entirely.

The other day I had to go around for 20min until I decided to park where I shouldn't have, like so many people did that day, because if you live in another part of the city you can't just come by bike and go home with 20kgs of stuff on your back, it just isn't possible. Yesterday I had the pleasure to discover a 110€ fine from local police, they love coming every saturday and sunday to make money. I find it disgusting because every person that comes to this place tries in her way to buy "ethical" and then you can't park and get a fine. I do not agree it's more expensive than Colruyt (in a previous review). Vegetables, fruits, nuts, olive oil: I've made the comparison when one day I've been first to Colruyt then there. It is cheapest than Colruyt! Nice selection of bread. You can also find eggs, olives, cheese, meet, pasta, flour. I love: the free coffee from the good machine with fair trade beans.

I was staying nearby and couldn't wait to try it out, so how did it go... AMAZING! I was 3 days in Gent, I had brunch here twice! Says a lot, man, if I was a local I'd be regularly found hanging out here. Lovely seating out front though even in side, they've made great use the space and got a quirky mezzanine space. As a cafe, it's also a store where you can purchase some of the yummiest organic produce plus what appeared to be locally sourced produce. The back of the store, has dispensers with nuts, grains so you can buy by the weight which is so convenient! First day, I had the avocado and goats cheese sandwich and it was so delicious, I savoured every bite. On my second visit, I had the fruit granola; wish I could have brought some home with me but still had travelling to do. If I'm ever back in town, will be the first place I go to!

My kids loved the banana chips and chocolate. There was so much to choose from it was hard not to buy everything. The produce is amazing as well. The best part is the customer service. Helpful, knowledgeable and super friendly. I felt very at home in this shop, like I had been here all my life. Also you can bring in your own containers to fill and if you forget or need new containers, no worries they sell them there in the shop or they have bags, that are compost friendly. I can't wait to go back.

I find the cheese counter with free tasting quite impressive! There are also a lot of vegan cheese and meat substitutes at the fresh department (I am myself not a big fan of those substitutes considering the fact that they often contain a large amount of of unhealthy fats and are mainly soya-based). You can also purchase by weight nuts, dry fruits and other healthy snacks. Their chocolate department is also quite amazing! The fresh fruits and vegetables counter is a bit deceptive though, despite the choice, doesn't look very good from my point of view. You won't get a lot of help and advice in this store except in the cosmetics department on the first floor and of course at the cheese and deli counters. The prices are quite fair even money-worth for some products, mainly belgian and dutch one, but much less for other, let's say french one for example. Overall, a great organic shop with quite everything you're looking for.

This place is pretty okay for nonperishable "superfoods" - you literally can't walk three feet anywhere in the store without finding six different brands of quinoa. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby and don't feel like ordering your organic shampoo or chia seeds online.
