For the most part, my experiences donating here have been really good. I used to only trust Noah enough to poke me but the staff now is really competent, confident, and comforting. I talked to TJ yesterday and he was really funny and good at what he does. The nurses here always follow up with me after a bad experience (pull being too fast, needle moved around too much, etc.). They provide me water and a snack after appointments like this, and have even called me around when I said I'd be home to see if I'm feeling better. You can't teach someone to care truly care about their clients like this, so it's amazing they hire people who are compassionate and just good. The only catch here is the wait time, but that's to be expected at any plasma center you go to. You wait when you donate plasma, blood, an organ, whatever. I don't mind it and I take the wait into consideration when scheduling my appointment time, which I am thankful people do here. I have been to other centers and even with a similar line, it takes significantly longer because they do not schedule staff according to how many people will be there, as they have no idea. Another thing: coupons are personalized and sent to your email now. If you are returning, you'll get one for extra pay after about 4 months. The staff was not able to tell me that. Always understaffed so your appointment will take hours, a lot of people can't successfully prick you without having to readjust or having to switch arms, differed for dumb reasons and now some can't get saline at the end of their trip due to saline shortages, limit the amount of appointments then? They have a kiosk that hardly ever gets wiped down, even during Covid. They are always playing games and changing the pay. They give out coupons and then find ways to not honor them. After many failed attempts at reaching out I went for my appointment and was turned away because I had my children with me. Which was one of my questions I had before going. I sat there for almost 5 minutes before someone came out and told me that there were no children allowed. While the people are friendly and nice, and the care I receive are great, the wait time is terrible.

Donated over 20 times now. Only one donation had a mishap which resulted in bruising around the injection site. Another time I did not eat enough before and felt faint, the staff and nurse was quick to respond and ver patient & understanding. All other donations have been great. Lines vary, sometimes have to wait up to an hour, other times only 5 minutes. Great way to save lives and get cash reward. read more

From the moment I walked in it was chaos. It was my first time, I was scared due to the unknowns that were infront of me. I waited 20 minutes and was treated like crap. I left in tears not even able to get passed the whole physical because the computer said I was too late to do so because of their office staff having mini conversations in front of you while your being ignored. Was a return donor (hadn't been in two years) and the nurse said I was deferred because I didn't have documented proof of when I got a tattoo (it was from two years prior) and she said I'd have to get a letter from my tattoo artist within the next five days to prove that the tattoo is two years old or be deferred permanently. I told her I'm done then because I never had to provide anything for previous tattoos. If this is the expectation, then they should tell people they need documentation of tattoos before they waste forty-five minutes of their time. read more

I went and was treated professionally however, it's their network that is waaaay screwed up. I needed my account transferred from another state. A deferment was placed on my account that I was clueless about.That states BioLife couldn't function correctly since they'd told me they would transfer my account, I called to see if it was done-they seemed bewildered. They called me days later to say all was good I'm ready to go in Loveland BioLife. But went in and nothing was done, called the other state they of course, knew nada. I never thought of giving plasma until a couple years ago. How I wish I would have known about it when I was in college or unemployed! It's an extra $70 a week for me to spend on lunches at work, a vacation, new clothes, or getting my hair or nails done. The people here are knowledgeable, friendly, and stick with all their processes and procedures that are in place. When I get the initial needle stick in my arm, I barely feel it, they are that good! I am 67, retired, and go twice a week to Biolife. Nearly the entire staff, in the year I've been going there, are extremely careful, professional and worried about your health. I've had one or two folks not so pleasant, but they are the exception. I feel safe in their hands. Some weeks, after going twice, you get a total of $70, but at least five months out of the year, you get $90 for those same two visits. I give plasma, because my son need a life saving medication that comes from plasma donations. This office is super clean, amazing staff, and your giving back. The first time in usually takes about 2 hours, but then the following donations are usually about an hour from start to finish. I would do it for free, but they actually pay you to give plasma. I've gone here many times but last time is the last. I brought to their attention five times that I was having issues and they kept patronizing me. I know my body and it's not right that you hold people hostage because they're hooked up to a machine. I was connected to a machine for over an hour and they messed with the needle seven times and told me I had to continue or they would only give me $20. I was in a lot of pain so I just took the $60 loss. Treating me like I'm less than human was a terrible feeling after all that I went through to not even get through half a donation and for only $20. read more

Initially, when I began donating to Biolife in Loveland, I was impressed. The process was streamlined and the center was clean and well kept. ALL THAT HAS CHANGED, and not in a good way. I walked in this morning for my 7:15 appointment to find a line of 30 or more folks waiting to complete the screening process. There was one staff member working the desk and doing the screening for everyone in line. THIS IS INEFFICIENT and UNACCEPTABLE. The compensation is good comparatively, but when it takes an hour just to get in the donation chair, they might as well just go back to soliciting the patients coming out of the free clinics, because you get what you pay for. read more

This is my 3rd time in and the girl at the desk that checked me in (I think her name is Dana) let me sit there for 30 min telling me I had to wait. I saw several people just go to the computer to do questionnaire and finally asked someone else why I have to wait. She explained I do not. So I asked Dana why she made me wait and she said the person that checked me on should have told me I didn't have to. She checked me in and Oh my gosh she is beyond rude. An apology rather than a dirty look and smart mouth would have made the wait (that's now costing me a much longer wait in line) would have been the right thing to do. Then another employee with very short hair started yelling at me when I told her Dana is neglecting to do her job. Wow not sure I should be doing this with such unprofessional and rude staff. The last time I literally threw up and almost fainted and my arm was severely bruised for 2 weeks. I'm giving this one more chance. I am a 825 donor and I'm usually in and out in an hour. The staff is always professional, courteous and have the staff on hand that is needed. I love that they pay me the same as a bigger donor. I do wish they had some kind of a reward program for a few extra bucks. I am always sure to be hydrated to make my donation go quickly. I did go to CSL 5 times and had 1 blown vein. 4 months at Biolife and not a single blown vein. read more

Deferred Plasma Center should be their name. My issue is with the system itself. They defer over a high/low temperature even though you pass the temp test when you walk in. They are constantly understaffed and overbooked, so they rush you through the vitals, and of course... defer you for higher heart rate. They seem to know this is a typical thing, which is why they payout the lower amount first donation, and then the higher amount the last donation, if you manage to get through that is. You also get deferred for high or low protein levels... i wasted more money getting there than I have made in donations. Don't waste your money as they don't give a damn sending you away. read more

This place is amazing. Very friendly. Very clean. They almost always remember my child, my wife and I. I was very worried about going in my first time and they made the whole process very easy. I would highly recommend anyone needing extra money or wanting to help medical research, donate on a regular basis. I have been going to Biolife for a long time and have had few issues other than long lines during busy times. However, I will NEVER go back after today. I made an appointment using the app like I always do and showed up a few minutes early. I went to do the sign in questions and noticed they seemed off but I did what I was suppose to and finished them and got in line. I was told to see the front desk person and was told because of their system I had been signed up for an appointment PLUS a physical. I had just gotten my physical done a few weeks prior and was told because I had already done my physical, I had to be deferred meaning I could not donate because of THEIR error. I asked to speak to a manager and was told the same thing, basically "sorry for you." So much for being a loyal client for YEARS. I will NOT return nor will I recommend a place that treats clients this way to anyone (which is ironic because I've recommended this place to so many people in the past). I went to BioLife Plasma Services today around 2pm to donate and get some extra rent money. After waiting for over an hour I finally got up to the front to have my identity confirmed and whatnot. The lady who took care of me was very sweet and thankful that I was so patient with the long wait. We chatted a bit and she got to my ID, which differed with what they had in the system since I asked to be identified as a male but my DL had me down as a female. She went to check with the manager/nurse to make sure that was ok and they said it shouldn't be a problem. So they send me to the nurse, (I believe her name was Susan) who was updated on the issue at hand. Now this is where it gets bad. She sees that my gender marker is different, so I tell her that I'm transgender and that I prefer to be ID'd as a male. She then starts asking these REALLY personal questions such as "so have you had any surgery? Do you plan on it? What were you born as? What are you genetically? Are you on just hormones?" Just a little PSA for those who aren't familiar with this: these questions are personal. You don't go up to a person on the side of the street and ask if they have a dick or a vagina in their pants. You just don't. You ALSO don't ask what surgery you're going to have in the future. That's none of your fucking business. Now what she SHOULD have asked were the normal, medically relevant questions such as "have you had any major surgeries in the past 6 months" or the "have you had sex with anyone who may have HIV." Shit like that. Not intrusive, gender neutral, and medically relevant. Also, plasma doesn't have a gender. We all have the same fucking plasma in our bodies and whether or not I'm a guy or a girl, mine could save anyone's life. So after being rattled by those intrusive questions, she has to go back and talk to the manager or whoever outside again. She's gone for a good 15 minutes while I just play around on my phone. She comes back and said they called the Denton, TX location where I previously donated and apparently they told her that I was answering questions as a male. Now this doesn't make sense since I only came out around December AND I was under my dead name. So she calls the Denton location and asks them which question set I was answering, and the nurse there (Joel) says I was answering as female, which is what would have made sense at the time. So I was like ok.... I would like the male set of questions. At this point she's extremely reluctant to do this for me. So by now my head is in my hands and the tears won't stop coming. All of this only adds to my already existing dysphoria and the daily struggle of being transgender and not passing as my true gender. She doesn't say anything, I'm assuming because no ones broken down crying in her office before. I said "this wouldn't be a problem if I passed as a male and my ID said Male." She is quiet for a moment and then says "well this is all pretty new for us so we're not sure what to do procedure wise." I get up and gather my things because I can't take it anymore. It's not worth the money to go through this. I thank her for her time and rush out of the clinic so nobody sees me cry. I just want people of medical professions to know that it is not easy being who we are. We are insulted and bullied without people even know they're doing something wrong. Please, PLEASE educate yourselves about who's out there. Imagine if I was agender and I could only choose male or female questions to answer. Just ask all the genders the same questions and only things that are medically relevant. I have honestly never be treated like this before, and I don't think Susan knew she was being so horrible and intrusive. If I felt like she was being transphobic, I definitely wouldn't have been so kind in my exit. It's so frustrating. Transgender people are NOT a new breed of humans, people. We've been around forever, and finally we have a chance to be out and about and open in who we are. I'm so sorry that some places are stuck in the 1800s, and I would like for them to know how their ignorance affects the people who come to them for business. This was by far the worst experience I've had in the 6 months that I've been out, and I'm not going to be okay for a long time. If anyone else has had a bad experience like this, I can relate. After making only two donations at this location, I received a letter in the mail stating they tested my blood and it came back positive for Hepatitis C. Naturally, I panicked and had my physician draw labs to retest me that day! Thank God, all of my blood work came back fine and I am NEGATIVE for Hep C. Now that I know I'm ok, I am frankly disgusted with the whole situation. I really can't believe that the center would be so quick to send out letters like this without getting their facts straight. To this day, I have no idea if they mixed up someone else's blood work with mine, or if they honestly just don't know what they are doing. Either way, I am extremely dissapointed with Biolife plasma center for putting me through such an emotional roller coaster. To add insult to injury, the letter I received stated that even if this was a "rare" false positive, their policy will no longer allow me to donate and I will be added to their national deferral database.
