Renaissance Firearms is veteran owned and run by Buddy Hackett and Devon St. Cyr, both former Marines from different eras. Their background shows in how the business operates. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is respectful, and the entire shop reflects a sense of responsibility and integrity. The indoor range is clean, well maintained, and professionally managed. As a firearms instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer, I pay close attention to how a range is operated, and their safety procedures are solid. It is a place where I feel comfortable sending new shooters because the environment is structured and taken seriously. I stopped by one of their yard sale events a couple of years ago and had the chance to meet Buddy. He was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in the people coming through the door. That interaction left a strong impression of the kind of leadership behind the business. Renaissance Firearms offers a lot under one roof including retail sales, gunsmithing, cerakote work, engraving, training programs, and a modern indoor range. I have read the other reviews and I believe the track owner has as well. It definitely felt like everything mentioned had been added, repaired or replaced. I particularly appreciated the food vendors with many choices for food and drink at a reasonable price no less. While yes this older small track could use some additional upgrades(new asphalt, markers for parking rows, repainting newly replaced bleacher boards). I personally noticed many improvements from the days of old. I believe they even offer a budget friendly $5 Friday once a month. Adults are $17 which is cheap for a regular race night. Hats off to the new owners(not sure how long that is).

The check-in was easy and the Staff is available to meet and offer guidance one you arrive. They don't allow golf carts in the parking lot so you want to get there early to allow adequate time for check-in. The course was in very good condition. Tee boxes were well marked and in good repair. The fairways are not exceedingly wide so you will be in trouble if you are not accurate off the tee. My biggest complaint was all the granite rocks, just a real pain and on several holes can really impact your shot selection. There is some up and down and few elevated tee boxes but not a lot. My favorite hole was #17, a 135 yard Par 3. There is a big granite rock that partially blocks a clear path/view to an elevated green. You don't want to be left or you are on Mt Rushmore and not in a good way.

Damien's pre-jump pep talk was pure gold. He told me, 'Look, there's nothing you can do to mess this up. I'll take care of everything while we're up there down to landing. Just do your thing: chill, savor the moment, and maybe take a deep breath or two.' It's like he knew I had a PhD in overthinking because I needed to hear that reassurance! So, we leaped from the plane, and I was looking down at the ground, feeling like I wanted to hug it! You heard that right, folks - I wanted to bear-hug the Earth from 14,000 feet up. A new level of love for our planet! On the way down under the parachute, Damien and I casually chatted about my career plans and his kids' future skydiving adventures. It was like a leisurely chat at a coffee shop - only we were hanging by a parachute, thousands of feet above the ground. And let's not forget the landing! I touched down with all the grace of an angel who had just made a surprise visit to Earth's party. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, request Damien for your skydiving experience. They consisted of every single lost ball from the course and appeared well aged. They were not even cleaned. Had two broken balls in the two bags costing $12.00. I think there were roughly 50-60 balls. You also have a quarter mile walk from the desk to the range itself. The staff was very nice, I will say that. I don't think it's their fault the range is in such rough shape. I would blame the desk for the terrible balls provided. Needless to say I will not be back and will patronize another range nearby which I will also review.

If I have to exclude everybody else, fine, John is awesome! He makes amazing coffee. But if I was going to be realistic, I would have a list of their entire staff in this review. My biggest complaint may be the AC in the sales section, it tends to get way too warm during the hot days, which is disappointing. The range experience is great, when I ask for something exciting to try, they always have an honest answer and something new to try out. Additionally, their RSOs are awesome when on the range, always offering their time and suggestions. It's great having an expert provide solicited advice. The club is also great, they are really making the best out of their space and offering. I do wish that they would hold non-club special events in the event space rather than the lounge, but to be honest, most members are hanging out in the range rather than upstairs in the lounge, so it spends a lot of its time with low occupancy, which is great for members that want to get some work done between range visits. I look forward to trying out their outdoor ranges, they just opened up to members and I hope to try them out soon!
