I have no previous ties to Barron or the school district. My only experience with Barron was to…read moredrive through on Hwy 8 on the way to elsewhere. The volunteers in the area organized a fund raiser for the Closs family and used the high school commons area to serve entirely donated homemade meals. The gym was used for a silent auction and from what I heard it was a huge success. I was totally amazed and touched by the outpouring of the community to help this family cope with one of the worst tragedies in probably a lifetime. They aren't seeking attention just doing what has to be done. The schools for the Barron district are in one complex with an ample parking lot. The buildings are new and modern and the commons area was bright with natural light.

We asked to be moved to the table on the side and were told that that noise volume was just as high at all tables. (This is do to the very high ceilings in the room.) When you go out to eat you want to be able to talk to one another and we could hardly hear our friends at the table. As for the food. It was just average. The mussel appetizers had a nice wine broth, but my veal parm had no taste.
