They have a number of different sites to choose from based on how big your trailer is or if you want to tent camp. They even have small little cabins to rent but keep in mind they don't have a kitchen or bathroom in the cabin. The lake is clean and great for any boat, kayaks, jet skis, etc... There is a private beach and swim area for campers to use and our boys loved it. A few things to improve and I would have given another star. While most campsites have full hookups for water and electric, they do not have individual sewage hookups. There is a dump site that you either need to drive up to or you can buy a tank tote to empty your sewage into and roll to the dump site. Depending on how often you use the bathroom, do dishes, take showers etc... you may be making that trip quite a bit. The other thing to improve was they have a very nice bath house but the shower heads don't have a lot of pressure. They are also very small so trying to shower off your kids too is a little tight. The last thing is they don't currently have Redneck Island opened. It includes inflatables and an obstacle course out on the water. They are hoping to have it open again next year so fingers crossed! We saw lots of pictures on the site of it but when we got there it was closed. Overall, if you are looking for a camping site, Beech Lake Family Camping Resort is a great choice!

During a recent roadtrip between Nashville and Memphis I was surprised to learn that TN is home to…read moreAmerica's only freshwater cultured pearl farm and museum. Since it seemed like a quick detour off of I-40, we stopped in on a recent Sunday to visit. Tennessee's official state gem is the freshwater pearl, and this is essentially ground zero for that industry. We had a little difficulty figuring out where exactly the museum was as the first address we put into Google's GPS took us to a spot in the middle of a road. After finding a second address online, this took us to the main office at the marina/resort area. I popped in and asked the young girl working if the museum was open (and where it was) and she said it was and drove us down to where it was in the marina as she said we probably wouldn't find it on our own...and she was right. She unlocked the musuem for us and informed us that the woman who usually worked there was off but she was glad to open it up for us. There is no fee to visit but I noticed a donation jar on a counter. The word "museum" is used very liberally here. In essence all it is a pearl jewelry showroom where you'll watch a 5-7 CBS tv segment from the 1990s about pearl farming that features the TN Pearl farm.....there's one "exhibit" area that showcases the differences between Japanese cultured pearls and TN cultured pearl shells...but that was about the most "museum" it gets....which was disappointing as I think there's a lot of opportunity to have more information about how the farm actually works, the family behind it, and the harvesting process. We quickly learned that the young worker who kindly let us in the "musuem" had no knowledge about how any of the pearl farming actually worked and met every question we had with "I dont know. Good question." If you're interested in buying some local farmed TN pearls, then by all means stop in to check out the showroom. But if you're coming in thinking to learn more about pearl farming in the area and how it's done more like a traditional museum I'd say skip this detour and just spend some time on Google.

Just keep following the road around as it is not signed well as to directions. Stop at the first stop sign you see where there is a little shack that says "check in." We assume it is a check in for the rv park and the HH. But, again... no signage or directions. We got lost and had to call. Once you come straight back through to the spots down by the waterfront be sure you chalk your rv very securely as the sights are not well leveled and there is a concern of rolling back into the water. Also, we are right at 40' and we were too big so I would say nothing bigger than 35' to fit comfortably. The museum is quaint with a very pretty pearl selection to see. There was someone there talking to a couple about pearls (she clearly worked there) and never acknowledged us upon entry. Never acknowledged us and we were there approximately 12 mins looking around. No, I'll be with you soon, no welcome and nice to see you. Nothing. I was ready to spend money but after waiting and being ignored we left. I was not impressed by that. Good luck on your stay.

On our road trip from Fort Worth, we were researching available places in this area and Little Tracks came up as having one night open!!! We lucked out!! We stayed in Red Fish cabin for the night. Once you reserve and pay for your stay, the owners text you the appropriate information to get in! They're so hospitable. When we walked inside our cabin from our long day of driving, we were greeted with a cozy and clean place! There is a hot shower, shampoo/conditioner, beauty mirror, towel hooks, towels and linens. The kitchen is complete with dinnerware and cutlery, a blender, coffee machine and fridge in case you want to cook any meals. We also spotted a fire pit in the front for making s'mores! If the temps gets too cold or hot outside, there is an ac unit to make your sleep more comfortable. There is a tv mounted in case you have time for watching anything, we didn't though. The trees were gorgeous, showing off their fall colors, and it was so quiet despite being right off I-40! It felt like a night at Grandma's house, safe and snuggly. We recommend staying!

This was a ten day, nine night tour. The tour was on a comfortable bus and our guide, Annette, and bus driver, Max, were a great team! They made safe route changes because of the Colorado wildfires, but we still saw gorgeous views through the Rockies. They also kept the bus very clean. All of the accommodations were very nice and the meals were delicious! We look forward to going on another trip with them!!

It was our first trip in our new (to us) RV. When we talked to Dan (owner) on the phone while…read moremaking the reservation, he offered to help us get set up. Boy, was he ever a huge help! He spent an hour or more with my husband, showing him all the things to get us situated! This made all the difference in the world to our stay! It was a very quiet area, the closest neighbors being a cemetery. There are stated quiet hours, which we really appreciated, wanting a relaxed and restful time, as new retirees. We spent time exploring the neighboring town (cute!) of Linden and going to Mousetail State Park to wade in the water and watch waterfowl. Dan offered to take us on a boat ride in his cabin cruiser (it has a bathroom!), and we took him up on it! We spent about 2 hours on the TN river, sightseeing. It was so much fun and we even got to steer the boat for a bit. Back at the marina we sat and visited with Dan for another hour or so. He is an extremely nice and interesting man and we enjoyed spending time with him. Since we didn't have a grill, he offered his charcoal grill, which was so kind. The grounds were very clean, the decks come with 2 Adirondack chairs. We took nice hot showers in the clean bathhouse. He also helped in a similar way, when we were leaving, to disconnect the water, electricity, etc, spending about another hour of his time teaching us what to do. All in all, we would highly recommend this place for all those wanting a quiet place to camp!

It is truly a trailer park. 3rd of all, the website indicates hiking trails...there are NO HIKING TRAILS in the campgrounds. We were told 2 miles up the road there is a trail...we didn't go. 4th thing, the campsites are so close together. No real privacy. 5th thing, the single stall shower in the bathhouse is smaller than the showers on most RVs. And lastly, the permanent residents get the best sites. the sites are definitely not worth $80/night. There is a highlight of the stay. The lady that works in the Pearl museum was very knowledgeable on the Pearl farm. She was so nice to thoroughly explain the background and the history of the farm.
