This is what gives it that vibrant and exciting place to be. The Main univserity building, on Wulfruna Road is a very modern looking building which looks very attractive in the evening with its lightings. Inside this building it has its student union base where students can join and take part in rewarding activities and debates. There is also the main learning centre of this city campus there where students can burrow laptops and books for a week max. Online renewals can be made to extend books borrowed except short loans. A block away is the universities main I.T building which has many computers, printers, photocop machines. This is too a highly modern architecture. Another building a block away from the aforementioned one in the Millenium building which has the canteen, i.t facilities and many lecture rooms.

Even though it's named Warwick it's actually closer to Coventry than the town of Warwick! I'm impressed with the design and layout of the university. Although it is located quite far away, it is situated in the beautiful English country-side. The building are newer looking (it was only built in the 1960s!) but not horribly concrete eyesores. The student union has some great restaurants, pubs, and student services. The Arts Centre is absolutely lush. There is a movie theatre, pub, and dining services inside, as well as, the art exhibition on display. Truly, it's worth checking out when you have some spare time. As I live in Leamington Spa, I normally catch the bus in the mornings. Buses are frequent and the ride is really easy. Leave early in the morning though (if you have morning classes/work) as the commute into Uni can take up to an hour. Especially if the bus goes through Kenilworth and not on the motorway. I also purchased a monthly pass (through Stagecoach) for about £67, which includes unlimited rides for a month! Not a bad deal, sure beats shelling out petrol on a daily commute!

Overall: An awesome University, but sadly located in Coventry…read more This is the university I fell in love with. I did my Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry B.Sc.(Hons) here. I loved the way it felt - something I didn't feel with the other universities I visited. Although it's not exactly a brand new university, on universities scales it is a pretty young university, built in 1965 with most, if not all the buildings painted white. In the past few years, Warwick University has been in the top-ten highest ranked research institutes within the UK, and is slowly being recognised worldwide. It's a campus university with everything on campus, with three campus sites - main, Gibbet hill and Westwood. There are halls of residences dotted around the campuses and I have to give a five stars for the Jack Martin residences. It was probably more than I could afford, but it was worth it - each room has its own en-suite, but a shared kitchen. In my final year, I had a room in the Tocil residents, I soon moved out - it was a room, based in a flat full of 12 disgusting students, with 2-3 shared bathrooms - ewwwwwww. If you're a little more strapped for cash, try Rootes. The student union has expanded throughout the years and gives numerous facilities for having a good time or simply getting lunch/groceries. The university also has an Arts Centre, 25 m swimming pool, sports halls, gymnasium, squash courts, athletics track, rock indoor-climbing facility, tennis courts and cricket grounds. There's a couple of bad things about this university. Firstly, it's located in the outskirts of Coventry, and to get there from another city without a car, requires train and bus travel. Secondly, it's located in Coventry! It seems all is well when on campus, but as soon as you go out of the campus confines, it's dire!

Quite a big college based near the Digbeth area of Birmingham…read more The establishment is well known for it's Centre of Performing Arts and the digital media studios, but outside these disciplines, they also have a lot of other courses that you can choose from. It's a little intimidating when your walking in and there are quite a few young youths hanging outside the main entrance in a mini gang, it puts you off a bit (but I can't imagine that they have much trouble as there is a police station 50 yards away). There is a nice helpful reception area, and just a few minutes walk from the city center. It has very good transport links, is currently enrolling and having friends who have studied a few short courses here comes recommended.

I went to south Birmingham College to drop off a few flyers for an event I'm currently working on…read more It's just before you reach Custard Factory on Floodgate street, just off Digbeth High Street. When you go in you are greeted by a large reception desk which you immediately turn to first. You can't get into the college without signing in at reception and there is security standing near the door. I thought this was really good because it means no one who isn't meant to be there can just wonder in. I was treated with respect and courtesy by the reception lady (unfortunately I've forgot her name) but she was really helpful. At least this time I actually had one of the students I know say they saw some of the flyers I'd left handed out to the students as sometimes this doesn't always happen.

It offers the usual post 16 options for year 12 and 13 students like AS Level's and A level's. It also offers adult courses which are usually offered free of cost and most importantly it offers courses on saturday's. If you're even slightly interested in improving your skills it's worth getting in touch with them to see what they can do.

It is very easy to get distracted with a whole building dedicated to amenities containing a pool room, chill out lounge and the canteen. The facilities within the college are generally good, the library is slightly on the small side considering the amount of students that attend. Another problem is the compulsory A level general studies, it wastes valuable time that could be spent on other subjects. Overall if you are willing to work hard and want good quality teaching then this is the place for you.

The Birmingham School of Art is technically part of the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design,…read morewhich is technically part of Birmingham City University. However, I'm not reviewing the University, but the building - which is still usually referred to by its original title. So, it was built in 1884-1885 and is a rather splendid example of red brick Victorian Gothic architecture - with Italian-style window arches and there's a look of a Parisian cathedral about it. In short, it's magnificent, and is generally thought of as the architect's (J.H. Chamberlain) finest achievement. The good people of English Heritage have clearly agreed and have given it a Grade I listing. I can't tell you much - indeed, anything - about the inside as I've never been in. I just tend to stand outside and gaze at it's strangely warm and elegant Victorian gothic (not two adjectives you would normally describe anything Victorian gothic as....) exterior. I would suggest that you get yourselves down to Margaret Street in the city centre and do the same.

Of course the reputation for teaching here is amazing and that is true from what I saw today but the place itself just doesn't live, from going to other university open days and seeing the life and atmosphere there, I didn't expect this place to be so dead. It is a good univeristy college but it feels more like a college.
