I was 24 hours into labor before we made them let us come in. I was having 5 minute contractions for 10 hours straight home alone to the point I was giving up. When I got to the clinic they immediately said I was 9 cm dilated and had the trainee midwife trying to find the heart rate during contractions. She couldn't find it. And hot help when they finally were able to track the heart rate of my baby girl they said I needed to get an ambulance to the hospital. We said we'd just drive there. They proceeded to let her try to put an iv in my arm for practice. She stuck me and stuck me untill the needle bend off in my arm. We finally said enough!! We're leaving why are you doing this if its an emergency shouldn't we be going. We got to the hospital and my entire birth plan went out the window. I was forced to get an epidural and c section because my cervix was too swollen from hours of not knowing what to do alone at home. They tried to push my cervix away for her head to slip through on my hands and knees as the last attempt to deliver her naturally but her heart rate was plummeting too much. Every 5 minutes. I was 32 hours into labor by the time she was cut from my body. They stole my placenta I didnt get to have the water birth I didnt get to have those moments that we all wish of when going to a clinic instead of a hospital. I hate them and Its almost been 2 years since her birth and I still am haunted by what happened to us. How can a place meant to be built of women supporting women's birth have cared so little for me and my baby. Not only could we have died but why would you not even ask to talk to me on the phone during my labor just telling my partner shes doing fine stay home. It was my first baby all I wanted was support through my delivery im am forever scarred and traumatized from my experience with this clinic. I hope that it never happens to anyone else.

We were able to meet with all the midwife's and they made us feel safe, and heard. I went into active labor after 5pm and from the moment we arrived it was perfect. I had the dream water delivery I've always wanted. The aftercare has been amazing with the baby and myself. I am so thankful we had the opportunity to deliver here. After having my first three babies in the hospital, respectfully, I would highly recommend the Corvallis Birthing Center.

NO compassion, did not care, had a melt down while she was supposed to be examining me. Tried to rush me out of there like I was a nobody. She needs to go. This woman has no business being a Medical Provider. I asked to see someone else there instead and she started yelling and telling me no, in the exam room!! I am a senior citizen and she is abusive. When I complained to the main office in Corvallis they told me they had no other providers that all their doctors have full schedules. Heidi at the Brownsville Clinic is not even an MD- Just a nurse. A thorough test, a real test for everything under the sun. When done they figured out how to fix the hearing aid and reprogrammed it. Then a retest for the relevant parts. Very scientific. I can't imagine a better outcome, highly recommend it, i mean it, Ron Leavitt is extremely knowledgeable, and so is his staff. Professional, personable. What more can one ask? They probably had a chance to profit more by encouraging me to get a newer hearing aid, but they did what was best for me. I am 81 and can hear again. Like i said, almost in tears I am joyful.

The doctor and technician offered that after a few minutes we could resume the test OR that I could go home and return to finish the test. Apparently I made the bad choice: I was not allowed for set another appointment. I returned the next day to try to schedule the hearing test. With advice from the back office technician, the receptionist was prompted on how to deal with me. They said the hearing test results were mailed to my primary care dr. Crazy--I am the patient and the doctor or technician should talk to ME. When I persevered with the staff to schedule a time to finish the hearing test and time to TALK TO ME. The technician came front to grudgingly agree to schedule "only one more appointment." I was granted an appointment 4 months out. When I contacted my primary dr. to get the results found at my first appointment she said that she had not received my audiology report, and if she had the results she would not be able to take action on them. Our best solution was to get a different referral and start over. I found my way to a great audiologist, fully worth the drive out of town. Makes me wonder how they stay in business?

We were told by my partner's friends that Dr. Wren was a good person to see about such matters. Apparently they have had different situations than ours. We have a high deductible insurance, about $5,000. Of course we are both young and healthy so it hasn't seemed necessary to pay upwards of $300/month to see a doctor once every five years... live and learn. Anyway, we both take off work to make this appointment. My partner is excited to have an ultrasound to see the baby. Of course, Dr Wren can't afford to buy an ultrasound machine so she can't get one. What did we get, you ask? Well a half an hour of being pigeonholed into a database by a nurse, then another half an hour of being asked the same information over again by the doctor. What did we learn? Smoking is bad for babies, drinking is bad for babies, ibuprofen is bad for babies, drinking water is good for babies, stretching is good for babies, Google is just as informative about babies as this OB/GYN. What is the difference between our visit and a Google search? An hour with Google is nearly free, and hour at Dr. Wren set us back $537.

I can't say enough about Dr Nixdorf and how amazing she is!!! I have had issues with both of my…read morejaws swelling and wanted to go see her for years but never did. Last November I had knee replacement surgery and developed restless leg syndrome. It affected my life so much, I had to cancel a trip to Italy and any long distance traveling (including seeing my grandchildren in California). I decided to just do it, go see Dr Nixdorf. Wow!!! My first appointment was 1-1/2 HOURS! When have you EVER had that much time with a doctor? She looked over my paperwork, and said the restless leg will be a piece of cake, but the jaw swelling, THAT intrigued her. I've been dealing with the jaw swelling for over 15 years and have seen over seven doctors. The last doctor told me it was allergies and it happens a lot (I do not know anyone who has had the same symptoms) and told me I could take up to TEN allergy medications a day. What? So going to see Dr Nixdorf, I have not only resolved the issue of the restless leg syndrome but I now have a diagnosis on WHY my jaw swells! AMAZING doctor.
