Much to my shock when I showed up to Hudson Terrace last night they didn't honor what Josh and I had agreed on and sold my table to another party. To be honest this review has more to do with the relationship between birthdays and bottles and the venues they work with. I'm fully aware of the fact that Hudson Terrace is responsible for not upholding their end of the reservation. Had a great time on this weekend at Hudson Terrace thanks to Josh and his team! After spending hours looking for a last minute place to celebrate my birthday in NYC, I came across his company and to my surprise it's a free service!!! Josh gave me a call and collected all the information he needed to suggest a place that fit our needs and time of arrival. When we arrived at the venue there was already a large line to get in, but I just gave them my name and in I went with my party. The place was packed and exciting and the area that was reserved for us allowed us to take in all the action. Josh gave me his personal cell phone number in case I ran into any issue, but I never felt the need to use it. Josh definitely deserves a 5 STAR REVIEW!! I was dreading to plan for my birthday for a few weeks. I just did not know WHICH place to pick for my party...SOOO many places in NYC but not all of them meet your budgets, expectations, and other needs. I knew I wanted to make it fancy and special but yet not too over the top where I would be broke the next day. lol. I checked out so many different venue options on Yelp but nothing really clicked. In the midst of stressing over this whole thing I randomly stumbled upon Birthdays and Bottles on Yelp and THANK GOD I did!!! I filled out the request form and Josh literally replied within an hour. We exchanged a few emails back and forth (And it was SUPER easy because he replied so promptly and he asked all the right questions to make sure he understood what I was looking for!). Literally ON THE SAME DAY he was able to find me a place that was PERFECT for me! The process was easy. Just make the deposit, and Josh takes care doing all the reservation for you. And on the DAY OF the party, you just SHOW UP and HAVE FUN! I did have some issues with the VENUE itself that night, where some of my friends had to WAIT IN LINE (Despite being on the guest list) for like 40 minutes (which was ridiculous) and one of them being turned away because of her ID being from another state! My best friend put me in charge of hosting her 30th birthday so, obviously, everything had to be on point and hassle-free! I had previously received a couple of quotes on my own that were just not feasible, so when I heard back from Josh--who swiftly answered my inquiry--it was a breath of fresh air. He helped me to decide between two locations and we eventually decided on M1-5 lounge. Thank you for answering my 20+ questions. My letter to "Birthdays and Bottles" after my event. Josh and Jeff, I reached out to your company in DECEMBER to book my birthday party, in January. There was PLENTLY of time to get this right. Josh promised a free bottle from the get-go if 20 guests attend my party -- I had 36 at Lilium on Saturday night. He also mentioned to me that if we bought a bottle, he would "hook us up" with a buy one get one, after the comped bottle. I told him that it was a possibility we would purchase a bottle after we enjoyed the free bottle -- and that is where the confusion began.... He somehow removed the FREE BOTTLE from the reservation, completely. I had no idea.... I only found out when I emailed Josh the day before my event to confirm everything -- and received a frantic call from him, in which he profusely apologized for confusion -- as he realized...the day.before.my.event....that he had screwed up. He had admitted to misunderstanding our conversations -- and had accidentally me set up for a buy one get one, rather than the FREE BOTTLE which was originally and ALWAYS promised for booking my party through Birthdays and Bottles. To have this stress the day before my event........was annoying. To have this stress the DAY OF my event was even worse -- however, I FINALLY received an email from Josh, confirming all was good to go. Okay Lilium told Jeff that you're good to go for a free bottle by itself! Have a great time tonight! Call Jeff if you need anything. Best, Joshua I felt comfortable after this confirmation..........only to arrive to Lilium and be greeted by a hostess who asked for my credit card, immediately -- literally asked for it before I was even inside the ropes -- still outside in the cold.........I asked her what it was for and she said "For your Buy One Get One bottle reservation".............this was the beginning of the end....and I was not even inside yet. I explained to her that I had full confirmation from Josh -- and that Jeff should know all of the details.....I was told she did not know Josh and that Jeff was not there. After about an hour of me running back and fourth to the hostess and the manager (ON MY BIRTHDAY! -- in front of all my guests) -- I convinced them to let us stay at the table and order drinks from the waitress until the table needed to be given up. The management at Lilium was as kind as possible -- considering the situation. The free bottle never arrived...what a JOKE......9 of my guests were not even allowed in to the bar (they arrived around 11:15, and were told they did not know of my party/reservation...really!?)........the whole thing was a BIG EMBARRASSMENT, FOR ME. Josh told me over and over and over that JEFF WOULD BE THERE -- and that is why he pushed me to do the party at Lilium! Not only was Jeff NOT THERE -- but when I texted him -- Jeff was not only EXTREMELY SHORT, and beyond unapologetic. When I asked him for his email address, he replied "What do you want to send me?".....how unprofessional can you get?! What do you think I want to send you -- a chain letter?! I put my trust in "Birthdays and Bottles"...what a mistake. I had offers from other promoters for open bar, FREE BOTTLESSSS, free food, etc! -- and obviously chose the wrong company. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I have a HUGE network who I was looking forward to sharing this amazing service with....obviously I will not being doing so. Awesome service!!! At the last minute, I decided to do something for my birthday and was searching for a venue on Yelp. I came across Birthdays & Bottles and am so glad that I did. Josh was such a great help. Our communication went smoothly with Josh's quick replies. He made planning an event so much easier. I feel compelled to write this review based on my experience. As the saying goes, "you had one job..." and they managed to screw it up. I arrived at Hotel Chantelle and they had no record of any reservation or agreement. The off site event coordinator contact number he gave me wasn't working and would bounce back text messages. The venue wasn't going to accommodate the deal we had agreed to and there was no one to help. Multiple emails were sent back and forth over the next 2 weeks between me and Josh, saying he would look into this and research it, but he never wrote back with anything substantial. His messages would just echo what we had already agreed upon weeks prior, with no results from his "research". Eventually he just ended up giving up, verbatim telling me "Honestly AMEX would be more effective with this issue than we would." When I wrote back one final time asking him what the point of using him was, he never replied. The reason this "service" is free to people is because Josh gets a cut when he closes these deals and it's generally a win-win for everyone involved: the customer gets a better deal, the venue has one more table booked they might not have had before and the middleman gets a piece of the pie. Josh had only one job and he didn't do it correctly at all, and didn't seem to really care afterwards once he discovered he wasn't going to be getting his cut. For what it's worth I never ended up getting a credit since the investigation revealed Josh and/or Birthdays and Bottles is a totally unaffiliated entity and has no authority to be issuing deals to venues he does not manage. Amex viewed him as a completely unrelated third party to this incident, and I can't really blame them. Sure he has some real connections like all promoters do, and that's where the other positive reviews come from. But when one of his connections flakes out (which is an incredibly common thing in the nightlife industry), you have no recourse and are left to look like an idiot. My fault for using him. Use at your own risk. Sorry to call you out Josh but this was handled very poorly even when you could have made an effort to fix it afterwards. PS - loved Hotel Chantelle! They tried to make the best of it and were very nice, but were firm about listed prices. Highly recommend them in the future! Really fun spot. read more

Unfortunately, I had a TERRIBLE time last night. My friends were waiting at the door since 10:30PM. Once I arrived around 11PM, I was able to enter with about 7 other friends, but the rest of my friends were kept waiting in the freezing cold until 12:30AM - at which time many of my friends no longer wanted to wait. What was more ridiculous was that the venue let other partygoers into the venue WITHOUT waiting in line at all. Many of my guy friends were just waiting on line for at least 2 hours then - and when I went outside to talk to the bouncers, they gave me an extremely hard time and said, "We're working hard to let them in. Just wait." with attitude. Two of my girl friends then proceeded to go outside and wait with the guys to see if that would speed up the process, but ALAS they were also kept waiting in the cold for over half an hour. When I contacted Jeff, he offered me a bottle at Lilium for free and just said that there was a last minute large booking that EVR had to deal with. I found this incredibly beyond my scope of understanding - ALL my friends were waiting at the door for hours and I was offered to relocate my party?! In addition, EVR should have been more responsible and honored MY reservation which was made much more in advance than this "LAST MINUTE BOOKING THEY HAD TO DEAL WITH." Finally, many of my friends did not get in at all. I am not sure why this is the case and perhaps it may have to do with the fact that I am... Asian. All the CAUCASIAN partygoers were let in PAST my ASIAN friends who had waited in line FOR A LONG LONG LONG TIME. I don't necessarily want to claim RACISM, but I definitely felt that the service was just NONEXISTENT. Ultimately, this truly infuriated me and frustrated me on the one day of the year I hope NOT to be frustrated NOR infuriated NOR DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. When I was planning a birthday party at Slate last Saturday, I contacted Slate directly asking what deal they can offer for our party. However, we did not find the deal was attractive and work for our group. As I was reading the review for Slate, I noted someone mentioned about Josh from Birthdays and Bottles. I therefore yelp on the business and found they have a great review. I looked into their website and emailed them. I received a reply from Josh very quickly and after exchanged few emails, he was able to help me get on the guest list and a special birthday deal. All of our guests were able to get in the venue without any issues on the Saturday night and we got the special bottle deals as promised. Everyone had a blast and I recommend this service to everyone especially it's totally free of charge. I will definitely use their service again for my next party! I booked Birthdays and Bottles after using Google to find a place to host my birthday event. Josh was extremely nice and professional, so this review is mostly a result of the aftermath. I had confirmed with Josh prior to the event Katra Lounge's cover charge. Josh stated that everyone was free before midnight. However, when I came around 11pm with my party, I was told by the Katra employees that my package only included 10 people and everyone over that number had to pay the $20 cover charge. I immediately emailed Josh and he responded the next day. Unfortunately, Katra's management denied that anyone in our party paid before midnight and the issue was never resolved. I constantly had to follow up with Josh to see what was going on with the situation, after which he would give me updates. I think Josh is great if everything goes according to plan, but if it doesn't make sure you have to time / effort to handle things on your own. read more

I emailed the company the day of planning my party. They responded almost immediately, provided me ideas, and offered me bottle service bogo (buy 1 get 1) deals. I actually stopped corresponding with them in the afternoon, because I was not interested in bottle service. They called me just before 8pm. They were chill yet professional. They said that they understood my lack of interest in getting a bottle, but wanted to help me anyway by setting up a guest list only. I ended up following their suggestion to party at Monarch.. despite the low Yelp reviews. We had a blast there! We got in without a problem, and Monarch even reserved a table for us even though we had not reserved one! I'll definitely be using their service again. I had an amazing birthday party at Aspen Social in late December with Joshua's help! I reached out to Josh the day before the party to help me plan, and he was really helpful, professional and committed from beginning to end. Within hours, everything was set up and Josh made sure I had all the relevant details. He provided me with the contact info for his colleague at Aspen Social and also made himself available in case there were any issues on the night of the party, which there weren't. Josh also followed up with me the next day to make sure we had had a great time. Josh set up a guest list for me, so there was no line, no waiting, no cover, no fuss at the door for anyone in my party. We also decided on bottle service once inside, so I let the hostess know I was with Josh's party, offered her the name of his associate at Aspen Social and she set me up with one of their larger private spaces and bottle service. What I think sets Birthdays and Bottles apart from other similar services is their commitment to getting you the best experience, regardless of how small or large your party size is. We had a group of 10/11 and Josh made sure we were really taken care of. In fact, I have never had such AMAZING BOTTLE SERVICE in any lounge in NYC, ever. Josh was able to get me a 2 for 1 deal on my bottles at Aspen Social - a wonderful bonus - which they brought out with sparklers for us! The staff frequently made sure that our space was clean and kept replacing our glasses, mixers, ice, etc without us ever having to ask. The waitress even offered to make us our drinks all night, which we politely declined, but she set us up with our first rounds of drinks and shots! My friend and I reached out to Josh after looking up reviews on Yelp for various companies that offered similar services. We were interested in doing a joint birthday party (with the B1G1 deal) less than a week from when we started to plan, and Josh was extremely prompt with his responses and was able to accommodate our party at the venue we had chosen, which was Slate. I would strongly advise asking the venue beforehand if there are any other events going on, as that can prevent your party from getting in and being seated in a timely manner -- there was a bat mitzvah at Slate and the bouncers refused to let us in for almost an hour. The staff at Slate was extremely rude and disorganized, but once we were eventually able to get in and be seated, the party went without a hitch. Again, this was an issue with the Slate staff NOT B&B but we would've liked to know this prior to booking. Additionally, we had reached out to Jeff while we were waiting on line to see if there was anything he could do to expedite the process but did not receive a call back until we were already inside the venue. Despite the issues with the staff at the venue itself, I would definitely recommend Birthdays and Bottles to anyone who wants to plan a party without actually too much planning. Using this service, really helps you get into the places you want without having to wait in long lines to then pay a cover charge if you are not on the list. I was searching on Google (about a month in advance) for a place in NYC to hold my 30th and I came across Birthdays and Bottles. I must admit, I felt skeptical. But after reading their reviews on Yelp, I decided to fill out their request form on their website. I had a specific budget and I was looking for a rooftop venue with beautiful views, bottle service and good music - I also wanted to make sure it would be hassle free for my guests. The next day, I received a reply from Josh. Based off of what I was looking for, he suggested Monarch Rooftop. I felt bad because I had asked so many questions, but he answered all of them - he was extremely helpful! The evening of my party (which was a Saturday) I saw a really long line outside, but gladly my guests and I were able to skip it! I followed Josh's instructions: I spoke to the bouncer and he signaled Monarch's coordinator for the VIP list. The coordinator was very friendly and found my name on the list. A young lady guided my guests and I to the elevator and eventually to our table. Also, any of my guests that arrived after me just had to say my name to the bouncer or coordinator and they were able to skip the line as well! Our waitress was also very friendly and accommodating. She helped clear up the slight confusion I had in regards to the bottle service really well. Before I received the bottles, I got the bill and it was right amount I told Josh that was within my budget. The tip was a little over my budget, but I was okay with that. I was also glad the bill came early, I didn't have to worry about any accidental additional charges. After I took care of the bill, a few minutes later they came out with sparklers when bringing the bottles to my table! Even after I received my bottles, the waitress continued to serve us throughout the whole night. I was just surprised that she did because usually they forget about you after you've paid the bill and tip. After I got my bottle service, I was able to enjoy the rest of the night. He was in direct contact with us throughout the entire time, including a confirmation note on the day of the event to let us know we are all set. I literally spent hours on yelp looking for rooftop venues in NYC for my 25th Birthday and came across Birthdays and Bottles - best decision ever. Josh was very responsive and worked with the changes that I kept making in the days leading up the event. I ended up going to Monarch, which was also lovely. We had appetizers from 8PM-10PM then bottle service started. We ended up getting a free house champagne when I order two bottles - which was nice for a cheers! The rest of the night was history - everyone had a great time, the night was a little muggy but everything was great. I lost my phone and vest there - venues reps did not find it ... probably taken by another guest or clean up crew but Im not mad about it - I had such a great time. Event: Bachelorette Party The only reason I can't give 5 stars is that for unforseen reasons we actually did not make it to the venue...so I can't speak for how smoothly the actual event would've gone. Otherwise, the entire process leading up to the night was as painless, efficient, and smooth as can be. I left a message on the B&B website the Thursday night before a Saturday bachelorette party, looking for a location near Times Square that has a good dancing scene for 20+ ladies. Josh replied first thing Friday morning and through a series of email back-and-forths, he managed to secure a reservation at Hudson Terrace and a free bottle for us as long as we continue to order drinks with the server after the bottle is complete. I was simply shocked, especially given what I've heard about the popularity and sheer crowd at HT. Amazing. My procrastination tendencies were justified. I was given all the information needed as well as Jeff's number to call in case anything came up. When problems did come up and we couldn't make our reservation, a quick text to Jeff was enough and he seemed super understanding. I can't wait for another event where I could use B&B's help. Reached out to Josh in May for a party in July. He was great in suggesting a venue and getting us all the details we needed. It was basically a hassle free experience. Unfortunately for us and in no way Josh's fault, the venue was bought out the week of the party and we had to find a new place. Josh was very apologetic and offered us a new venue but we decided on somewhere else and Josh returned our deposit in full. Everything went as planned, I couldn't be more please. Josh is very punctual and professional. He checked up on me many times to make sure everything would go as smoothly as possible. No issues at the door, no issues with the table. I've read some of the bad reviews. People just need to have some common sense. 1) Just call the venue day of and confirm everything is all set. It's very simple and will prevent a lot of embarrassment. I didn't even have to, but if you want to make sure just do it. 2) We are in NYC, clubs pretty much do whatever they want. If they don't wanna let you in, they won't. If they want to charge you cover they will. That's just the way it is. It's not Birthdays and Bottles fault if the club randomly changes its mind on the spot. I'm sure B&B will stick up for you if anything happens. Don't try to wear Uggs into the club or show up 5 hours after reservations and everything will be fine! read more

I had a great birthday party last weekend at Monarch Rooftop thanks to Birthdays and Bottles. I had been doing a ton of research and talking to different promoters before finding this service, and I'm glad that I decided to go with Josh. I had a day party with around 40 guests and everyone had an amazing time. No issues getting in and everyone loved the venue and the views. I contacted Joshua to help me set up my birthday party. He was extremely helpful in suggesting various venues and ultimately decided on Aspen Social. We had no problems the day of the party and did not have to wait in line or pay cover. Throughout the whole process, Joshua was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and was extremely prompt about getting back to me. Day of the party the staff at Aspen social was very nice and helpful and Joshua was able to even set up a complimentary bottle for us and provided a colleagues number in case we ran into any issues! So I was looking for a venue to host my birthday party for a Friday night, and came across the great reviews for Aspen Social, and how Josh (Birthdays & Bottles) hooked it up for this venue. Email correspondence was quick & to the point. Josh set everything up so I had nothing to worry about on the day of. No lines, no cover..only great bottle service (who doesn't love a BOGO deal?) The venue itself was perfect. We had a table reserved in the back dance floor area by the DJ & the bar. Great decor & great vibes. The music started out as a house/trance vibe, but quickly changed to hip hop throwbacks and bump n grind jams (exactly what I wanted). So I found out about these guys over at birthdays and bottles from a good review that was posted on one of the venues I wanted to have my birthday at. I did a little research and reached out to them via email. I received feedback from Josh immediately, I was surprised at how helpful they were because usually it's a hassle trying to set anything up with these places directly. They confirmed my party over at hotel Chantelle a couple days in advance so I wasn't in a last minute panic. Once I was checked in and my initial crew was let in, anyone who mentioned my name afterwards was given that coveted velvet rope entrance. We had a table in a prime location on the main floor. The crowd was amazing everyone in there was trying to have a good time not the typical nyc snobby club crowd we all love to hate. Overall if you're looking for a easy and great way to set something up for your birthday definitely try these guys out. After exchanging a few emails we were able to coordinate all the details and everything went smoothly from there. Being a procrastinator, I only started planning my birthday party a week before my 25th birthday. I found birthdays & bottles through yelp and thank god I did because it saved me from all the stress of having to plan a party on my own. I inquired on their site at midnight and literally by 6AM the next day, I get a response from Josh. He provided me with 3 venues he thought I would like. After sending him a long detailed email of what I wanted, he called me to get an even better understanding of exactly what I wanted and what he could offer...that extra effort was definitely key for me. We decided on Monarch, and it was the perfect choice! A week later I show up to Monarch with my 50 some guests and we all had a fantastic time. No one had trouble getting in, we had our own corner table, and the bartender was super attentive and kept the drinks coming all night! Josh made things as easy as can be for booking our big group event. He helped us pick the Monarch Rooftop and arranged everything directly with them to make things seamless for our group. He was always available and was very responsive to all of our questions. When our group arrived, we did not have to wait in line and were taken to our designated area without any issue. Our waitress was great and got our drinks to us pretty quickly, especially considering it was Saturday night and it was getting very busy. The DJ was on point and of course the views were amazing. All in all, our whole group had a great time! I would definitely use Birthdays and Bottles again for future events. I contacted birthdays and bottles to help me plan out my 30th bday. Josh contacted me within 24 hours asking what venue i was interested in. At first i wanted to celebrate at the DL Lounge but after another customer had a problem with the venue honoring the deal that birthdays and bottles had set up Josh immediately contacted me and suggest i switch venues because he didnt want the same to happen to me. He suggested Gansevoort Park. I had read mixed reviews about the venue but agreed as Josh said the place was really fun. The night of the party, there was no problem with getting into the venue. My name was on the list and a table reserved as well as the staff at the venue being aware of the 2 for 1 bottle deal. Birthdays and bottles did a good job of honoring their part. If anything the only complaint was that at the venue itself, the area in which the table was in closed at 2, so my friends and i had to move downstairs. The bouncers at the "red room" can be a bit douchey about letting people in, but again that is no fault of birthdays and bottles. Overall id recommend this company in planning your next event. read more
