Most recently, I hired Ultra for a holiday party at my home and was reminded once again why they are the absolute best. Holly, Andre, and Reinaldo came in and delivered; making magic happen all night. Reinaldo wowed guests with a signature drink he made on the spot. Andre was early and immediately went to work to set up; helping me pull things together quickly. In addition to the bartenders I am so happy we opted for a server. Not sure the party would have run as smoothly without Holly. She exceeded our expectations. They all did. Including Henry, who was patient and helpful in thinking through event logistics. I found this company through their website, trying to find a staffing company in NYC who would let me hire bartenders for my wedding and let me provide the alcohol. As a former bartender, it was really important to me that we serve high end stuff at our wedding and also have guys behind the bar who knew what they were doing. (Places that provide both the bartenders and the alcohol charge $75+ per person to serve "premium" alcohol ... not in the budget!) I didn't find many reviews, but the manager Anthony was super responsive and reassuring by email (I had a LOT of specific questions), so I went for it. They charge hourly, plus a pre-calculated gratuity. All the payment, including tip, was done through the company via credit card so there was no hassle on the day of. Our two bartenders (Lance and Dewan) turned out to be amazing! They showed up early to help set up our full bar and they made complex martinis and poured champagne all night. They were helpful, sharply dressed, and professional. I didn't have an empty glass in my hand all night and neither did my guests. I would use this company again if I needed a bartender for a large party and I highly recommend them! read more

If you don't want to read the very long review, the short version is: Hire Ultra Events & Staffing for ALL of your event/party needs. They are the best I've ever worked with (and I've worked with A LOT of planners!) and I truly couldn't recommend them enough! A MILLION stars for Henry and his colleagues, seriously. For more details: I hired Ultra Events & Staffing for a large celebration I hosted at my home, as this was the first year I didn't hold it at a venue. Thus, I needed help with pretty much everything including decorating, catering, building a temporary bar, hiring actual night-of staff, making sure the event ran smoothly and was organized, etc. And I had quite the vision: A full service bar, food stations, a photo booth, themed decorations (and food to match), and seriously, Henry and his colleagues at Ultra Events went SO above and beyond -- they made my vision a reality, and even better than anything I could have imagined! And Henry was completely transparent about pricing through out, and was super happy to modify accordingly to match budgetary needs. On that note, Henry is the best, like I want to be his best friend in real life. He was SO friendly, communicative, and easy to talk to through out the planning process -- I knew the second we got on the phone this is who I wanted to work with on this party -- did a walk-through with his catering partner several weeks before the actual event to make sure everything was in order in advance, and was truly a life saver the night of the event. He's also just an all around fantastic person. The night of, the decor was breathtaking and a million times better than anything I would've come up with myself. The staff and vendors couldn't have been more wonderful, either -- the food was AMAZING, my guests couldn't stop raving about it (especially my dad who is a notoriously picky eater!), everyone was so kind and professional (and fun!), and the event was one of the best and most successful I've ever hosted -- and I've hosted A LOT, I even had a HUGE wedding a few years ago (as in, I was the bride!) Even when we had a brief emergency with my oven not working, the catering staff managed to make things work by switching everything to stovetop. You would have NEVER known anything went even slightly awry in the kitchen that night because it was SUCH a huge success. (The caterers also brought cute little homemade dog treats for my dogs which I thought was SOOOO cute and thoughtful, like I couldn't/can't get over it.) The bartenders were also so adorable, fun, made fantastic drinks, and just the best. And the house was practically clean when everyone left! Everyone had so much fun, I know I did, we have hundreds of photobooth pictures and got to keep the gorgeous decor, and the event is truly one of the fondest memories I have from my life. I know my husband and friends all feel the same. None of it would have been possible, or anything remotely close, without Ultra Events & Staffing. I could not recommend them, and Henry, enough! And again, I've worked with several party/event planners over the past decade, and I am truly enamored with Ultra Events and cannot wait to work with them again. If you are interested in finding an amazing, professional, tardy, considerate and helpful bartender then this company is most definitely the company to contact. Saturday January 7, 2012 I hosted a House Warming party in my new apartment. I requested that the bartender arrive at 6:30 pm and leave at 11:30 pm, a total of 5 hours. My magnificent superman bartender Neal; showed up at 6:15pm. He came fully attired in black with a tie. He also brought with him, his own shaker, knife and bar tools ( I forgot that I didn't have a knife in my kitchen). (I previously spoke with Anthony Patrone about what liquors, garnishes and mixes to buy... Mr. Patrone made me feel so comfortable by asking what specialty drinks my friends and I liked and then taking the time to email me a list of supplies.) Neal was a big hit at my party. My mom fell in love with him.. He helped with the food, He set up the tables, He did coat check, He made a banging Mojito as well as other drinks, He cleaned up, He also asked everyone as they entered the party "what would you like to drink"... We had a lot of DIY elements and we didn't have a day-of coordinator but Thomas and his crew were totally autonomous and did everything with confidence - setup, bussing, buffet, cake cutting, break down, etc. Everyone was super friendly and casual and they did a totally professional job. Hired Ultra Staffing for our wedding, and could not have been happier! From the start communications were prompt, professional, and extremely helpful. For us this was the first time planning such a large event and Anthony had answers for all our questions, and spent a lot of time with us on the phone & via e-mail to make sure we were all covered. The Ultra Staff made my husband's 40th birthday party a huge success. Not only were they extremely professional, polite and prepared, but they were also very knowledgeable about the best ways to configure our apartment to ensure the everything worked seamlessly. From the moment that they arrived they were efficient and patient (even allowing my 6 year old to help set up!) and immediately put me at ease. First, I would like to start off by saying their wait staff and bartenders where AMAZING! They where polite, clean cut, attentive and hard working. Unfortunately, my problem was NOT with the wait staff and bartenders, but with management. I had an event this Summer that I clearly had several conversations with via email and over the phone with the person running my event, and as the event pictures came back, along with feedback from the guests, I realized that a lot of what we discussed was not taken care of. I hired this company so they can take care of all the details, big and small. Due to a large number of guests, I requested two buffet stations so everybody would have enough food to eat, but only one station was put up and the line was long. I had rented enough chafing dishes for 2 stations, but only 1 set was used for 1 station. I had hired enough wait staff to serve the dinner buffet so we would not run out of food (as people who serve themselves tend to pile on their plates) but people ended up serving them selves and a good number did not get any steak that I paid good money for or shrimp. I purchased expensive serving tongs to pick up appetizers with, as the catering company was going to deliver ugly plastic tongs, and they where never used....they left the plastic tongs, when I clearly said to them to please use the pretty metal ones I brought. There where tables behind the bar where one could store boxes of alcohol, and boxes where left outside for guests to see. Several people spilled their wine while dancing and it was not cleaned up, and I almost tripped and fell. When you pay a lot of money for an event that MUST go perfectly like a 50 year anniversary or a wedding, you expect for all the small details to be covered, as it is the small details that make the event perfect. Next time I will hire a staffing company for an event, I will have to monitor them through out the event to make sure everything is buttoned up. read more

Henry + his team did a stellar job with our wedding on June 6, we can't recommend them highly enough. Everything from the attention to detail throughout the planning stages to execution on the big day was just excellent. They were thrown multiple curveballs in the crunch and it didn't seem to phase them at all, super professional, polished and really a delight to have around.
