Overall, the place is cute and has a lot of great finds. The prices are a little up there for certain items, but I did find some good things in there for really good prices. The lady at the front was really nice and helpful. When I'm in town again, I would definitely visit again. read more

Eclectic, cluttered, disorganized cavernous series of old buildings. Lots of both over and underpriced merchandise. Smart aleck employees who miss their hippie days make for a hilariously funny experience. If you enjoy jawing with mutual trash talking as I do, this is a great place for you. If you are good at it, they will eventually shut up and you can walk away with a smile. Go there, pass on most all their stuff, but keep looking for things that are a really, really good deals for you and a loss for them. read more

My husband and I went to this store and we were very excited because we saw so many things there, but when we were finished taking the items we liked the old lady told us it was closed and that we couldn't pay for anything even when she never said she was about to close. Decent antique store with a wide selection of vintage to antique items. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because as I was looking at a necklace the gentleman snapped at me telling me to get my hands out of the case; as the case was unlocked and wide open I didn't think twice about inspecting a necklace I would have purchased had the interaction gone a different direction. The man was apparently restocking and his body language, tone of voice, and demeanor was extremely uninviting. I will keep my more colorful names for him to myself. At the end of the day it was a mediocre and dirty store with some interesting items partnered with an uninviting atmosphere. read more

If you go here because it looks cute, you're normal. If you buy anything here, you're insane. If you choose to consignment your things here, you must hate money. Here's why: My friends and I were doing a road trip through AZ and went to the lovely town of Bisbee. We are all ladies with good taste and some money to spend on antiques/jewelry. However the clerk/owner really talked us out of that one. We now refer to him as 'the rudest person in the world'. He followed us around, but kept mentioning that he 'had work to do' (is this not his job?). When I was inquiring about some jewelry he got out a scale and calculated the price based on the current cost of gold. Is this a pawn-shop or an antique store? When I inquired about a different ring he told me it's price and that it had a really interesting story behind it--but refused to tell it unless I bought it. Then, he accused me of asking him to STEAL. No kidding. Here's how it all went down: Me: "What's the story?" Him: "I'm not going to tell you unless you're going to buy it." Me, Joking: "Couldn't I just say i'm going to buy it and get you to tell me? ha ha" Him: "No. No you couldn't." Very flippent "Do you want it?" Me, Joking, trying to lighten things up: " Yes. I'll take it. For free." Him, serious :"This is on consignment. It's not mine to give. What you are asking me to do is commit theft!" Me, Deadpan: "Well, at least you have a sense of humor." I then complimented him (sarcastically, but he didn't notice) for all his help and for being so friendly and we left. Here's what we didn't buy but would have: -Art Deco 14K & Sapphire Ring priced at $350.00 -Sailfish brooch made of Bakelite and gold at $90.00 And who knows what else we would have found...So, if you're selling things here you might want to rethink who you're working with. I'd mention to Yelpers not to buy anything here, but I'll just leave it to 'the rudest person in the world' to convince them himself. read more

MINERS & MERCHANTS ANTIQUE CENTER I came to visit the town of Bisbee during a one week visit to Tuscon on a far trip from Wisconsin. I decided to shop the area and be a tourist. This was my first stop. This antique store was full of great items. Especially their coins. I found some historic Bisbee trade tokens, and some other hard to find collectible coins at reasonable prices. The woman at the counter was helpful in assisting me with items locked up in the cabinet. I was even given a 10% discount on my purchases. I had a great shopping experience and would come back. They have three floors of items to see. I would recommend this place if like antique stores. read more

First store we go into on our girl's day out and we were met with a gentleman who made us feel completely unwelcome. He had a decent selection of furniture but was totally unhelpful in answering any questions we had. He even followed us around and hovered while we shopped. It made me feel like he was waiting to see if we were going to shoplift something. Completely ridiculous! All 3 of us had a list of things we were looking for and we all had money to spend. Unfortunately for him we took our cash and spent it in other stores on Main Street. I would be hard pressed to return. There are much better shops in the area with a better selection and better service. It amazes me that in this economic climate business owners would not take their customer service to the next level. In the span of about 10 minutes he lost out on 3 paying customers. That can't be good for business! read more

3 stories of reasonably priced antiques and collectibles with a basement that can almost be described as a labyrinth from yesteryear.

Ok... Where do I begin.... After reading these other reviews, I maybe can understand why they said what they said. This was the last store I walked into today... At first the owner was a little bit smart ass, but given mine and my boyfriends smart ass sense of humor we rolled with it. Once we got really into looking at the items in the store and showed a genuine interest in his pieces, asking questions like, what is this, or where in the world did you come across this... The owner "Jim " perked up and got excited to share with us the stories behind all of his beautiful pieces. He even opened his cases offering to let me try on fine jewelry that he knew I had no intentions of buying. He shared with us not only his hospitality but the history of his treasures and how he got to where he was. It was such a fun delightful and interesting experience. It was one of my favorite places to visit. Jim was so educated about every piece he had. I believe that it's not a store for just anyone. He seemed to love talking to people who truly appreciate his pieces. He showed such excitement and enthusiasm about his store. I thoroughly enjoyed his company. I will definitely be visiting Jim again. read more

RUDE! The owner had a few nice and beautiful pieces of furniture, however the owner (assumed through conversation) was condescending and EXTREMELY RUDE. I asked about the history of a piece, and was met with him telling me the price and looking at me. I am 35 and was dressed nicely. I have a good income and am looking for a few specific pieces for my house. The owner talked down to me the entire time I was in the shop. He told that the piece was re-upholstered, which increased the price (which if it was an antique, it would not add to the value, it would detract) He told me I was happy to look elsewhere for furniture. My husband purchased a $625 bracelet for me before Christmas as a present with the assurance from the owner that it could be exchanged (not returned) if it did not fit or I did not like it. Well, we drove to Bisbee last Tuesday and were rudely told that he did not tell my husband that and he had no intention of exchanging it. To say my husband was shocked would be an understatement. We had purchased several other things from him in the past, and even thought he was rude, but we never thought him to be dishonest. I took the bracelet to a jeweler in Tucson who sized the bracelet for me and he also checked the signature on the back (owner put on the back of his card, it was signed by the Indian artist) and we were told the signature was merely scratches. My husband and I went to Bisbee for the day while visiting with our daughter in Sierra Vista. The first shop we entered was Bisbee Antiques. I found two oil jars that were high on a shelf and was very interested in seeing them. I told the shopkeeper I had a couple of questions, to which he responded "let me guess you have the same question everyone has when they come in here." I then said I wanted to know how old they were and what company they were made by. He said he thought they were by McCoy. I then asked the price and he said he thought they were about $150-$160. He asked if I would like to buy them to which I responded I would like to see them first. His reply was " do you want to buy them or just see them, you know people just come in here and want to see things and they don't buy them." I said I would like to see them before I committed to buying them. He then responded that they are on consignment and he just had back surgery and he really didn't want to get them down unless I was going to buy them. I then said if it was too inconvenient I'd hate to put him out, but I don't buy things unless I can see them. He then stated once again that he had just had surgery and he really shouldn't be getting them down unless I was interested in buying them. I told him never mind and turned to leave the store. He got very upset and continued to say he would get them down, but he'd just had surgery..... At that point my husband and I decided this man really wasn't interested in making a sale. If the jars had been free of cracks and chips I was ready to purchase both. I feel sorry for the person who consigned these to this shop. They missed out on a possible sale due to the shopkeeper's unwillingness to assist a customer unless they committed to buying something without the opportunity to look closely at it. After reading some of the other reviews it appears this is the way all of the customers are treated. read more
