We wanted to like this hip & friendly eatery. However, it was NOT to be despite a local's tip to…read morecome in the first place. I ordered the poached egg and avocado spread on bread with smoked salmon. And things totally went downhill from there... At first glance the plate looked nothing like an earlier photo from just a few months ago. Hidden under the rustic sweet potato shreds was one really sad dish. The Letdown: On bread slice was a tiny spread that barely tasted like avocado. From there, I found the "poached" egg was overboiled, and one of the pear slices was actually rotten. It boggled my mind that this could be served. The shreds of smoked salmon looked like leftovers, and was that an old slice of lemon that topped it? If those weren't enough, the bottom of the bread was seriously burnt. Almost comical how every element of the dish was poorly prepared. Yes, I should've returned this to the kitchen. But I was reminded of the misgivings in Kitchen Confidential. On a side note: there is rarely complimentary water in Europe and it was not the case here either contrary to earlier reviews.

We are from Seattle and self proclaimed foodies for sure. We were in Prague 5 days, we ate here least once a day here. The eggs Benedict, I can't even... I am forever ruined, in fact this might be the main reason I looked at purchasing a property while here ;) well that and we fell in love with Prague! Do yourself a favor eat here (and at their bakery next door), you will not be disappointed.

Vegan's Prague is a great spot if you're looking to experience authentic Czech food with a fully…read morevegan twist. It really stands out as a place that takes traditional flavors seriously while making them accessible and enjoyable for plant-based diners. You can tell a lot of care goes into the recipes, and it feels true to Czech cuisine rather than just "veganized" for the sake of it. The pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and the quality of the food. I didn't feel like I was overpaying at all, which is always a huge plus in a popular city like Prague. One of the highlights for me was the coconut lemonade--it was so unique and refreshing, and not something you see on most menus. It balanced sweetness and flavor really well and paired nicely with the meal. I tried the lasagna, which was flavorful and well-made, though it was a bit heavy overall. That said, the zucchini in it was sliced incredibly well, adding a nice texture and showing real attention to detail in the preparation. It made the dish feel more refined even if it was filling. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful, which made the experience even better. Overall, Vegan's Prague is a solid choice for anyone looking for good vegan food, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

After a less than stellar with a meat-alternative traditional Czech dish at another Prague…read morerestaurant, I didn't have high expectations for Maitrea. I decided I would try it anyway because it was in the area and had such good reviews, and I'm so glad I did! The transitional dish I opted for this time was the svíčková, some kind of soy meat cutlet topped with cranberry sauce, whipped cream, and some kind of creamy sauce covering the whole thing. Bread dumplings came with it, which were perfect for soaking up that creamy sauce. I'm not really sure how to describe what it tasted like as it was unlike anything I've ever eaten, but it was all flavorful, rich, and delicious! The whipped cream seemed especially random to me, but it was unsweetened so it wasn't actually too out of place. The meat alternative that was used was not too spongy, which often is the case with soy-based products. The ambiance is very cozy - I sat downstairs but it didn't feel like I was in a basement at all. No complaints about service either, and I appreciated that you could pay via the QR code at your table so I didn't have to worry about flagging a waitress down for the check. All in all a great experience and if I'm ever in Prague again, I will be back!

The ambiance has a very bohemian and soothing touch, you can see fountains and buddha statues all along. Maitrea is a complete vegetarian restaurant, serving local Czech delicacies. I tried the vegan Ghaloush and it was so so good. Typical Czech dishes are meat heavy so I am glad I got an opportunity to try something local and appreciate it. The dish had stewed veggies, a lot of spices and flavour and was served with horseradish dumplings and bread. Most of the tables around me had ordered Aperol Spritz, and I ordered the same, it was so good! Are you even on vacation if you don't drink Aperol/ Mai Tai?! Maitrea serves local delicacies as well as other vegetarian cuisines to fit everyone's palate. My vegetarian/ vegan friends, definitely give this place a try!
