There are many restaurants in the narrow streets of the historic center of Riva del Garda, but many of them limit their offer to very classic, traditional, typical dishes. The Caneva Bistrot stands out first of all for the originality and quality of its proposals. All great, but I especially enjoyed the pre-starter kindly offered by the restaurant: pumpkin cream with bacon and polenta crumble, and the snapper-ceviche starter, with green apple and celeriac gazpacho.
Very nice environment, with tables both outdoors and indoors, very friendly, thoughtful, and experienced service, ready to answer all the curiosities.
We accompanied the whole dinner with wines from the region, from sparkling wine, to an excellent red Teroldego, a white Pinot Bianco, ending with the surprise of the first whisky of Trentino Alto Adige, indeed, the first Italian whisky, which comes from this region. The Puni distillery has been producing whisky for about ten years. I really enjoyed the Puni Vina one, matured in casks from Sicily which have previously held Marsala wine.
I really hope to be able to return soon to this great restaurant, to discover some other of their excellent and creative dishes! read more
