The service and the waiters were very friendly and professional. The margarita was made to order and when i asked what tequila they use the bartender came out to speak to me and show the bottle of jose cuervo silver and told me how they mix it. They had live music which was nice and the ambiance waa relaxed unlike at Salon Corona where we attempted to have a quick lunch. This place was right near my hotel too. I've been to many bakeries, and this one stands out as my favorite, especially in Mexico City. The prices are some of the best I've seen near the capital, and the bread is incredibly fresh. Some items come pre-wrapped, which is convenient, and during a family taste test, La Vaconia won multiple votes for best flavor and ranked #1 in freshness. They offer a wide variety of options, and while the staff isn't particularly memorable, they were fine--no complaints, but nothing over-the-top either. My only small issue was that they packed all my bread into a single bag. I should have spoken up, but honestly, they should know better. Lots of room inside to enjoy your treat. Clean and fresh. I had tried Mamay last year and I loved it, and lucky for me the Mamay fruit drink is something that they offer here. They prepare it with agua or leche, and I chose the leche option just because I thought that it would taste better. The person who helped me Maria Eugenia makes this place great. She prepared an entire pitcher full of the Maay fruit drink for me, not just the glass. I also ordered a small fruit plate which consisted of papaya, pina, sandia, melón, and plantain. The prices were downright reasonable- we had about a dozen small tacos for less than $7. They offer sodas and bottled water. The food was delicious, and the place was clean, the food served up quickly and hot. They have a griddle right there on the street that you can watch 'em grill up your order right before your eyes. The staff knew no English, but they strove to make sure there was enough food! Watch out for the salsas- one of 'em might melt your face off!
