Nicole was a great guide for our group! She was informative and we were full by the end of the tour. I would recommend.

They wanted a $45 fee when the class itself is $65, essentially trying to get you to pay for an extra class. I enjoyed my wheel throwing workshop at ATL Clay Works for the most part. There were two…read moreinstructors, Devanie the cocky one with a slight bad attitude, and the nice lady whose name I cannot remember. The workshop is pretty straightforward. Devanie took about 10-15 minutes to show us basic techniques in regard to manipulating the clay, wheel, tools, and so on. Then we began to work on our own clay with hands on help from the instructors when we were struggling. It's a lot fun and very grounding if you're also there for a spiritual experience. We each got to make 3 pieces which was pretty cool and pick from 4 glaze colors. Once we were finished, we helped clean up. I inquired about enrolling in an 8 week class with the nice lady, and Devanie interjected to abruptly and rudely let me know that the next class session was full. It's not what you say, it's how you say it, and while I showed no specific interest in the next class session, I do feel that there was an amicable way to tell me that the next class is full. What translated in her tone was not a simple share of information, but an indirect direct way of saying that she either did not want me there or she was stroking her own ego. Either way I will not return. I was there to introduce myself to another form of artistry and to spiritually rebalance and she took the harmony right out of that. Initially she said that it would take 2-3 weeks to receive our finished pots. It tools 5 weeks and 2 days. In spite of some of the energy, I am grateful for the experience, and love how my pots turned out!

It was hard to make friends (keep in mind, I am social type of person) and do the things I love. I met Steve on Facebook. He was so kind and you could tell from his posts, that he just wanted to help people. I finally reached out to him and attended an event. It was an event that was the beginning to my "normal." It was the first event I attended and honestly was a bit nervous bc I have been to "meet-up" groups and well they weren't all pleasant experiences. Everyone was so nice, inviting, down to earth just good people. Everyone has their own personality, no one judges, we come together do fun events, events that help our community, we learn at these events...it's just an awesome experience. I could write a whole page!! The point is...I got involved with this group looking to make friends. Not only did I make friends, but these friends turned into my second family here in Atlanta. I can't explain the type of gratitude I feel towards everyone in this group. If you are looking for fun, adventurous, community helping type of people, your search has finally ended!

I knew from these reviews I wouldn't be disappointed: after a storm that cancelled our first attempted bike tour, Nedra was very flexible and great in communicating with us another opportunity to ride, and took us on an exciting ride detailing Atlanta's contribution to the civil rights movement, in particular the black liberation movement of the 1950s and 1960s. These experiences and authentic conversations have never been more important than today, and were the highlight of our Atlanta trip. I am incredibly grateful to have been able to support a small business owner that is driving positive change and solidarity in her community. Thank you for this unforgettable experience, Nedra!

I booked the Atlanta History Tour with Nedra pretty last minute for a birthday celebration. She was very accommodating for scheduling and provided an AWESOME tour. It is both refreshing and inspiring to meet someone who truly enjoys their job and brings such a great energy. Nedra has definitely found her calling! The tour started over at the Spindle. We met there and then took off to our first stop. I was extremely nervous as a beginner biker but Nedra assured me that everything would be ok. Once I got over my nerves, I actually started to have fun! We rode on the street and on trails (but never on the sidewalk because that is illegal. Who knew?) We stopped along the way at various locations where Nedra discussed the history with us. She was so knowledgeable it was crazy!! She knew the story of building architects, community meetings that discussed actions of the location, events, articles that mentioned the buildings, the artists that created the street art, etc. I learned SO MUCH and best of all it was FUN! Before ending the tour, we made our way down to the beltline for a popsicle to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was such an awesome treat! We even got lucky enough to stop and see a live band playing under the bridge. Nedra was so cool about letting us stop to enjoy the scene for a little bit. We ended up going over our time and never once did she rush us to get back. I am truly impressed by the level of knowledge, professionalism, and candor provided during the Civil Bikes tour. I am looking forward to scheduling a small private group for a bike safety & confidence class. If you are considering a tour with Civil Bikes DO IT!
