Erin is so friendly and truly a master of her trade! We ordered a cake shaped like a suitcase (complete with fondant flight attendant) as a surprise for our mom's retirement party. It turned out even better than we could have ever expected with the best hand-painted intricate details. She really went above and beyond, and the carrot cake was absolutely delicious!! We are all still so impressed. We just had such a great experience from start to finish--Erin is so friendly and easy to work with. We went to Bittersweet for our Wedding Cake. We were from out of town so we had to order it all over the phone. We sent Erin a picture of what we wanted and she did not disappoint! The cake was excellent!! We had a lemon and raspberry swirl layered cake and a double chocolate sheet cake that matched the decorations of the tiered cake. The flavors were outstanding and our guests loved it. We can't wait to try their rolls and cookies the next time we are in town! read more

I had heard great things about Erin's baked goods from many different people. As my birthday approached, and with the options of making a cake myself or not having one, I added a third-- let Erin make at Bittersweet Bakery. Her cute little shop is just so sweet, she has a beautiful smile to greet you right away. I told her what I wanted and when I needed it by and was out of the door in 5 minutes. A week later, I was surprised by the cost of the cake-- much less than what I expected from a professional baker. She showed me her decorations (something I didn't ask for, but was pleasantly surprised by) of very pretty summer flowers. But the reason of this review was the cake itself. I had a chocolate layer cake with chocolate frosting and raspberry filling. Everyone that had a piece fell silent the moment we started eating. It was the most delicious cake I've ever had, and as a baked goods fanatic that is saying a lot. It was incredibly moist, the frosting was perfectly smooth, the raspberry was present but not overbearing. Even if you are just driving through she sells little treats that I imagine are just as delicious as her cakes. Everyone should know about her little shop just off the main drag in Ogallala. I am delighted to find a great bakery so near us! I needed a birthday cake for my son. Bittersweet made a delectable strawberry vanilla cake. We all agreed we'd never eaten such a great cake!
