I won't spoil the story, it needs to be told in Osh Kosh by the owners and operators of Mark Ferrari Specialty Coffee who are serving up the best coffee and macadamia cinnamon rolls west of the Platte. When talking to locals in a nearby town we asked if there was anywhere they would recommend to grab coffee and a pastry and in a unanimous vote they sent us 40 minutes off our planned route to find Mark Ferrari's where we consumed two of the best cinnamon rolls on record and a cup of coffee that would win a taste test in any competition. Add in a great chat with the owners and a steady stream of locals and we were sold. We took home a tray of rolls that probably won't make it home. Coffee is available for purchase online and also on Amazon (100% Kona Coffee Mark Ferrari). Mark and Mike were working the shop on our Friday morning jaunt, meeting and greeting as well as serving up smiles and updates on the community with locals. I had a warm caramel latte, my husband had hot chocolate and we both had two finger licking good rolls that were soft, gooey, and topped with icing and chopped macadamia nuts. How the coffee business made it to Osh Kosh is a story Mike can share when you visit.......and you need to visit.

A must stop!! Coffee is amazing! The jewelry is beautiful! A wonderful surprise in a small town!read more

Alas- it was one of the worst eating experiences on our 2 week road trip. Biggest problem- only one server for the entire place and she had to do it all except for actually running the grill. She did try, but could not keep up with a full house on a Friday night for dinner. Took her 10 minutes just to bring menus, and at least a half hour to get food to us. When food was brought out we had an item missing- a shake that was never made or brought to the table even 45 minutes after ordering it. The Philly cheese steak was cold and had clearly been made and stood for some time before being brought out. The BLT was cold, as was the chilli. The chicken on the chicken salad had also clearly sat for quite a while before being delivered to the table. Another big problem was cleanliness. The floor was dirty. The room had flies buzzing around. At one point the server dropped a tray of coffee mugs and clearly broke several. She didn't sweep them up. A few minutes later, a busser came out from the back and kicked a broken piece of cup along the floor. He just left it there rather than picking it up. It was still there in the middle of the floor when we left. They did remove the shake that never came and the 2 items that were cold and not eaten from the bill. I think the server was doing her best but only so much one person can do.
