A BJ's dog wash is nothing short of pampering - no more stress or sore backs. This is West Auckland's first dog washing salon and they are still going strong. I put it down to great service. You can either bring in your dog and wash them yourself or they'll do it for you obviously for a slightly elevated fee. Now my Labrador is not one for pampering but many of his canine friends are, so they may come here to get groomed and preened s BJ's offer this service. Raised shower stalls and nice warm water make the process comfortably and you don't need to clean the plughole mess! Comfie couches and a TV for the humans. read more

My first impression was of worn, dirty facilities, and didn't improve. I brought my dog in for the self-serve dog wash. The ramp was a bit steep for my old arthritic dog, but he managed. The shower hose and shampoo were fine. But the deal breaker for me was the hair dryer. It was basically a shop vac, on reverse, so it was too powerful and only cold air. So obviously not very effective, and sadly unpleasant for my dog. The experience bordered on traumatic for both of us, and I'll not be returning. If you're desperate for a dog wash, it will get the job done, but for $25 I find it overpriced and in need of some upgrades. read more

I was pet sitting a giant breed dog for a friend who was flea ridden. I couldn't get her in the bath or shower at home and was at wits end. Saw an add for BJ's and thought I would give it a go. Fantastic!! Gordon was so helpful, the facilities were great. I was there for 2hrs washing (warm water) and blow drying this dog. There is no way I could have done this at home. To top it off the price was exceptionally reasonable. Will definitely go there again and recommend to all doggy pals :) read more

This was my first and last visit to BJ's Dog Wash. The facilities were tired, old and extremely dirty. It looked liked nobody had ever cleaned up all the copious amounts of old and wet dog hair ever. And there was a potent, overwhelming doggy odour permeating the whole place. I love dogs, but I am not a fan of that pungent doggy smell some dogs have. And BJ's reeked of that smell! Surely it is possible to deodorise the facilities? And I agree about the dryer. Cold and ineffective! read more

The worst groom my pomeranian has ever had, fur is patchy and uneven around the head, and way too short. We asked for a teddy bear cut and showed a photograph of a previous groom she had. I doubt they have had any professional dog grooming experience or training. Will not be going back. read more

We took our shih tzu for a groom, we were charged $75 and looked no different then when he went in, he didn't like the lady at all, hes the most happy friendly puppy, but she blindfolded and muzzled him, we had to take to vet, that evening for a cut on the eye,$300. very annoyed, never go there read more

I booked my Labrador and Jack Russell in for a full groom and I very happy with their service. My Jack Russell was easy to handle but my Labrador was a handful because we moved from overseas and it was all new faces for her and she obviously got nervous but I was very impressed that they managed to get her done exactly the way i wanted it done! As one of the veiwer mentioned that the place was of worn and dirty facilities. She has not seen the worse of many other places that my 3 dogs had been to. I am happy with their facilites. Old and worn means that they have been in the business for a long time and they do have their experience. For the price I couldn't ask for more and with convenient parking and location. I have booked my other dogs in for regular groom. read more

Just went to BJ's for the first time today with my crazy Spaniel Wiley. It was perfect for what we need-a place to wash our kid! There was a groom happening while we were there and the little, fluffy, white Lad (maybe Lady) looked gorgeous. The owners are quite friendly and helpful and will definitely be going back. read more

Just phoned up to make a booking for my poor little matted dog (I try bushing him all the time but he seemed to chew more fur then I can keep up with as we work full time) and the lady one the phone made me feel like a stupid and bad dog owner! She said my dog needs shaving which was fair enough but then I asked if that was the only option, she laughed at me and said well no if its matted down to the skin, I said well I wasn't sure if there was some kind of treatment, she laughed at me AGAIN and said its called brushing yr dog regularly...VERY rude read more
