I hired BL Painting to paint the interior of my home and I must say they did a fantastic job. Bobby was very professional and went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with everything. Most of my interactions with this job were directly with the owner, Bobby Loughmiller. His price was comparable to others I had gotten quotes from but given that my parents had both seen his work and were pleased, I figured I would have a good experience as well. This is far from how I feel and I¿d never recommend anyone hire Bobby for a painting job. Bobby constantly said, ¿I treat your home like I do my home¿ but I found no truth in him stating this for a number of reasons that follow. There were plenty of areas on my walls that were concerning to me that were never done correctly to begin with, nor fixed when I brought to Bobby¿s attention. Some areas were never spackled, patched, and even painted in some cases. As part of his quote, Bobby listed that he would leave my place clean upon finishing the project. This was again not as promised¿ The windows had paint drips everywhere and clearly were never cleaned. My floors were filthy, both with paint and debris. My furniture had paint on it in places. Damage was done to my house as well. One of my custom blinds was severely bent (and had to be replaced) and when confronted Bobby told me, ¿how can we be sure that it wasn¿t like that before we were here?¿ Additionally, EVERY SINGLE ONE of my blinds was hung back up wrong, requiring we remove and re-hang. Again Bobby denied it! Bobby left wall socket plates without screws on them, hung them crooked, and in some cases didn¿t even replace them on the wall. Again, I was met with excuse after excuse for things like socket plates missing screws, despite this having never been this way before he showed up to pain! Bobby told me ¿those were like that before.¿ This was far from the truth! The key to my house was lost at one point when I was out of town on vacation causing inconvenience on my part, thank goodness my door locks were being changed as the key never re-surfaced either. Bobby was constantly badgering me by texts and voice mail messages about paying him. Sure, I paid him half of my balance mid-way through his work, which is more then what most companies would expect. But even when he had 3-4 days worth of work to complete, he was again bugging me, my fiancé, and even going so far as to call my Mom (keep in mind I am a 32 year old successful professional, pretty outrageous that someone would call my Mom!). It was a very smart decision on my part to hold back $1000 at the very end as Bobby had told me he would return and finish up several issues I had here at my house that I found problematic. He never returned as promised to finish touching up problem areas and left my garage entirely not painted when this was part of the job I hired him for. He was also very unprofessional in his engagements with my family and myself, talking badly about me behind my back on several occasions. An apology was never extended for any short comings mentioned above. Instead I constantly was given an excuse and things were never fixed or made right. I know myself and my family will never do or recommend any business with Bobby. He was set to paint my Grandma¿s house next, but after seeing firsthand the issues I had, my Grandma opted to go with someone else. My Mom as well was planning on having him paint inside her home but has also elected to go with someone who does quality work. These guys went above and beyond what was necessary. There were issues with our walls and moulding that we weren't aware of. This caused extra work for which they did not charge extra. They did an excellent job and we are very pleased. They also cleaned up very well. There was no trace of them when they left (except freshly painted walls and ceiling). read more
