This was the worst experience I have ever had. I managed huge apartment communities for 30 years and been the project manager on millions of dollars in renovation and maintenance projects. Eddie is a great talker and tells you he can do everything and really lets you believe he can be trusted. I had a full rehab for my house including painting, new flooring, new vanities, all new light fixtures, basically total overhaul. The original bid was $23,900. I have pets so I specifically told Eddie I would be moving into an Airbnb so he could get the house done without having to work around me and I did not want my pets stressed by all the noise and activity. He agreed that the job would be done in 4 weeks. During this time, he decided to accept a bathroom remodel in my neighbors house at the same time. He only works from about 9am to 4pm with a lunch break. He was 2 weeks past the deadline and still was not finished!! He submitted receipts from the hardware store for me to pay that were parts he bought for my neighbors job! He has now charged me over $34,000 for my job that was supposed to cost $24,944. That is a 30% mark up!! The work site was an absolute disaster, they left my house in terrible shape. They sprayed my floors with glue remover and did not protect my furniture (he promised all furniture would be protected and covered) which has now eaten the stain off several pieces of my antique furniture. He took all my books and piled them on my mattress and did not cover my mattress so not only was it exposed to toxic chemicals from the glue remover he used, the mattress was filthy because he never covered it even though he promised he would. He did not wire my ceiling fans correctly so I had to pay an electrician to come and re-wire them. Ge burnt out 1 ceiling fan with his bad wiring and the electrician said it needs to be replaced. He also left screws loose on the bedroom fans so they would eventually fall from the ceiling. He stored all his tools in my garage and left such a mess, I tripped over his cords and hurt myself pretty badly. Even once I moved back in, everyday they would throw trash on the floors inside the house and then leave. Every night I would have to go around cleaning up all their trash. He bills you for items that are not complete and then expects payment even though items are not completed. I bought all the materials and because he was so disorganized, he lost several parts that I had to re- purchase. I have never seen such a messy, disorganized job site in my 30 years of property management where I worked with hundreds of contractors over the years. I could keep going, but I am sure you get the point t. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, WORST DECISION EVER! Total incompetent and can't complete job on time because they only work about 5 to 6 hours a day. read more

We are in the process of replacing kitchen appliances and needed some carpentry work done to accommodate the new appliances. It was not a large job, but skill & professionalism was important as it required cutting existing cabinetry with precision. Eddie was prompt and professional from the initial quote to the finished work. He arrived on schedule, did a wonderful job, cleaned up the kitchen area afterwards, and was reasonably priced as well. Excellent company. I threw several weird repairs at them and they went above and beyond to provide what I needed. They were highly qualified to handled every request, respectful of my property, and they cleaned up after themselves. Their prices were reasonable given all the work they did. I am out of state - I wasn't able to pick out materials such as tile and paint. That means they had to go shopping for me at various stores. Who does that??? These people did. Initially contacted based on Yelp reviews also Google & FB. After prior hire "fails" I felt confident employing for a limited "scope"~my LR ceiling which had already been done (allegedly) prior by another company. The quote was high, went forward despite based on quality "assurances."First day I noticed in pics brand new high end ceiling fan was left uncovered for sanding/paint. Scope stated 3 days, on day 3 organizers were sent who were told by Eddie (owner) (without consulting me first) "to come back another time". As job extended communication lapsed, on day 4 I asked why I had not been alerted to pool cloudiness, I hired someone to address it, Eddie bought chemicals (charged me) put them in despite the pool then being clear, and caused it to become cloudy again~I paid to have it remedied an unnecessary expense x 3. When I hired Eddie I said people were "taking advantage of my absence" he assured me he/they would "have my back/alert me to anything I may need to know." Also without asking me, Eddie & Co. removed LR contents instead of covering then stacked in the newly painted/cleaned kitchen, rather than adjacent garage, 12 ft away. I was scheduled to arrive, and would have been blocked from kitchen access, they did not return LR contents back upon finishing, instead I paid to have this done. Upon completion Eddie stated he was interested in helping with other pending areas, however, it would take a month to get permits~likely because he had another job, Marion County said 5-7 days. This was 6 weeks ago, I have yet to hear anything yet they were eager to charge my credit card without the courtesy of allerting me first. When my regular housekeeper went to do a house check weeks later per her, "sliding glass doors left unlocked, door from interior to garage left unlocked, garage lights left ON, attic stairs left down." They also left the HVAC running while sanding which given the time of year and weather was not justified, regardless at an expense to me, and the system. Will consider adjusting this review should they respond, interesting to note last Yelp review from 9/2024, almost 6 montsh ago~Eddie was MIA or late to the job site frequently another issue I had with prior workers, he had assured me it would not be a concern~it was a concern, among other things as noted in this review. Their "new computer system" texted my phone with new project start date alerts which was confusing as project had already started (reported). On my end, I maintained responsiveness, positivity, and faith throughout, to no avail it would appear. read more

The whole team at Florida Home Improvement did a fantastic job. I talked with several companies. They were not the cheapest nor the most expensive but I am so glad I went with them. I found Eddie by sheer luck (blessing). I had an impossible and complex remodel/overhaul and I was stressed and overwhelmed. It was an "investment' property I was getting ready for sale and I lived three hours away! Being able to trust that the work would get done in a timely, quality fashion while being absent from the job seemed like too much to ask for. But when I spoke to Eddie her reassured me he's had absentee clients before and not to worry. This is a family run business and the service was personal.
