This cafe had an opportunity to impress as it was boxing day and there where not many places open…read more If impressed or even just ok would of gone back. The lack of clearing of tables with plates, food, cups & glasses left on tables was a poor sight and we should of just moved on. We didn't and paid the price the food was very poor the meat was re heated in a microwave and still cold / chilled in the middle ate a few mouth fulls of the salad that was it. Very disappointed and suspect this venue preys on tourists as with this low standard my wife and I experienced we won't be going back and I suspect nor will others we saw at the time. I dont usually kick up a fuss but to feel ripped off like this in such a beautiful town that is all about food wine and fun. Not Happy!

Not impressed at all. Ordered a pear and walnut salad which was bland and drowned in oil and cost…read moreme $15! Also had one of their fresh juices - watermelon, pineapple and carrot......it was almost tasteless and I am sure it was watered down. The place smelled like fish inside so I ate outside. I also found some (not all) of the staff to be indifferent and almost rude. Observed several customers waiting a long time for meals and a lot of confusion from staff as to where meals were to be sent......including mine, even though there were table numbers. Feel very ripped off. I am local and am embarrassed that tourists will be eating here. From now on will stick to my regular cafe for great food and service.

POD Cafe - Large coffee was so huge that someone at the table next to me asked what the soup of the day was, haha!

On our recent day trip to the Barossa, we consulted Yelp for a suitable brunch location in Tanunda…read moreand Nosh came up a winner. Easily findable in the main street with a park scored right out the front, we entered the former rolling mill building and exclaimed over the cute and cosy rooms before coming through into the gorgeously rustic main café area, which feels like a Pinterest board come to life. Everywhere you look is a quirky, reclaimed piece of décor - from the fixed gear bikes hanging from the high ceilings, the stepped shelves made from stacks of books, the china plates stuck to a piece of old door as wall art, the old step ladder converted into a shelving unit and more. Everything from the tables, chairs to the crockery and cutlery is gloriously mismatched in a range of kitsch delights including vintage floral china, bone-handled knives and cute cups. We each ordered a breakfast containing wholemeal toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and rocket with tomato chutney - mine without mushrooms. The eggs were fluffy, the local bacon was deliciously tasty as only country-killed meat can be and the chutney was divine. Seriously, if there were jars available for sale at the counter, I'd have bought one. Perhaps a sideline marketing venture for the owners if they read this? This appears to be a popular place and for good reason. Clearly a lot of care has gone into making this a top notch eatery with the quality of ingredients and care taken in presentation. We peeked into the other areas on our way out and each space was pleasant and inviting. There was even a children's play area cleverly fitted into a secure closed-off area to ensure the newly mobile little ones are entertained and contained without bolting out into the street or into the way of other customers with a nice seating area for the adults to supervise and eat at the same time. I look forward to returning to the Barossa soon and will find it hard to go past Nosh when I do.
