I loved this place for my littles! It was soo fun. We went on a day that was going to rain so we didn't have much time but we still got so much out of those few hrs. It is acres and acres of things to do. My favorite thing is how spacious it all was nothing felt crowded there were plenty of slides in all the areas to play on and go w your kids. From one play area to the next three kids didn't get bored. The pig races were so cute and the bubble station was interactive. I wish they checked on the Bubble Station a lithe more often to make sure it's filled up. The kids needed a bathroom break and luckily we weren't far from it. They were impeccably clean and didn't scare the kids with bad smells. I would go back again if it was more affordable and/or offered an option for just the courtyard. I really wanted to go back on a play date with my BFF but decided against it because the price. We didn't have a chance to go on the hay ride, it seems they had only one truck going so the wait was long. We didn't want to waste time, we knew the kids would have had more fun in the courtyard. Again, I wish there was a price for just the courtyard itself, but you're obligated to pay it combo. read more

Do not eat the meat!! Not sure what those hamburgers where, we bought 2 cheeseburgers, i asked for well done, not even close. I am not sure what kina meat it was, but don't!!!! Just dont!! It was 28.65$ for one was to come with fry's, which we never received, after waiting for almost a half hour we gave up and walked away from the food. Total waste of money on the food, super bummed. Threw away both burgers, God they were nasty!!! The grand kids had a blast!! Tons to do!! Love all of those things! I would defiantly recommend for fun, just not the food ewwww!!! Nasty stuff. We've been coming here for quite a few years now and tho our kids are grown & married we all STILL try and get together to come every Halloween. So this past Friday night we all decided to meet up once again to recapture that 'ole Halloween spirit! Only it was ruined by your attendants who apparently don't like giving military discounts. You see, we're retired but our two kids (-and their spouses) are still active duty tho they're affected by the furlough right now! So we wanted to buy their tickets but apparently it's policy to make us ALL show up with ID's. We managed to have two of the 4 kids show up in time to meet us at the line to show their ID's but the other two got stuck in traffic. So two of us got BACK IN LINE and bought their tickets but your attendant refused to honor the discount since they weren't present. Here's the thing: if you all feel that way about extending a small measure of appreciation to our armed services then be HONEST about it. Because when it all adds up: even without the mere $2 discount it STILL COST us over $229 for 6 people with the fast pass which we splurged for. And had we known how you REALLY feel about us, we would've gone somewhere else to spend our hard earned money on those business that truly do appreciate us. Such a fun time going and picking pumpkins. They have a corn maze, animals to gaze at, concession area, pumpkin patch and a pumpkin farmers market picking area of the patch isn't your thing. The price was i think 10.00 for the 2 of us to so 5.00 each, kids are the same price and so worth it. They have staff in the patch to help cut the pumpkins from the vines too and they were so friendly. The cost for the pumpkin patch and corn maze is 16.00 for adults and kids 11.00 each, 2 and under are free. It was so much fun seeing all the animals too. The goats were so cute. read more

Great experience with a pumpkin picking after a trailer ride. Plenty of stuff for the kids to do and music to entertain.

It is not a good place to work. The Haunt Manager yelled in my ear as an example of what the crowd character is supposed to do. I do not understand why people would pay to have their ear drums destroyed. I thought this was supposed to be an acting job. A 15 year old was hit by a customer and they were unable to find the person that hit her. Nightmare Acres has off duty cops there. What were they doing? This is a W2 job and there are no breaks. They are breaking the labor law and they are breaking the child labor law. They only pay the average of the hours that everyone worked. Nightmare Acres does not pay for the full time that an individual person is there. read more

My kids and I were genuinely disappointed in this place. There were mosquitos EVERYWHERE and no amount of repellent could deter them. The slides and toys were pretty boring and crowded, and the food was very pricey and also took a really long time to receive. When we called on the phone, we were told that the price would include a hat ride and a pumpkin, but we were turned away from the hayride after waiting forever in line because we didn't have extra tickets. It was very misleading and frustrating and after paying $14 per person to basically walk through a small maze and go down a slide, we didn't want to spend more for the hayride. We left feeling like our money was wasted and covered in mosquito bites. I really don't recommend this place. There are so many other fun places to go for a fall experience. read more

Avoid their "quesadilla" and the "grilled cheese" sandwich. It's $4 for the quesadilla and all it is, is 2 tortillas with some sort of dipping cheese in the middle. It was absolutely disgusting. The same cheese is what was in the grilled cheese sandwich. For the prices you're paying they could at a minimum use real cheese. Very disappointing. read more

I've always loved coming here ever since I discovered it in 2012. I first came with my senior class in high school, and I've came back every year since! There is so much to do here! There are bouncy houses, live music, giant hay slides, as well as a metal potato sack slide, haunted house, mazes, animals, and even food and drink! They have a pumpkin patch hayride where you can pick out your own pumpkin at the end! It's such a fun place to visit for Halloween. I saw a sign over by the animals that said "we're moving 2018" so it may have been the animals or the business as a whole! I'm kinda sad! Overall such a fun place to bring friends, your S/O, or the kids! The price is NOT overly expensive either! Definitely stop and visit if you get a chance ! read more

I was underwhelmed. Maybe it is because there are so many people that talk about Black Island Farms. It is kind of expensive for what you get. But the kids seemed to enjoy it. We went for a hayride to the pumpkin patch and through the corn maze. We spent about 2 hours and then the kids were done. Besides the maze and hayride, they had some animals behind fences and a couple of slides made with hay and farm like materials. It wasn't a bad experience so, 3 Stars. read more

Pumpkin shopping should be more than a purchase in front of (insert local grocery store here). Bring on Black Island Farms!! Nestled in the swamps of Syracuse is a huge farm that, well, grows things. Each fall this place is transformed in to a festival of orange greatness surrounding Fall and Halloween prep. Don't shy away from the entry price. $9 (with a KSL deal) gets you in to the festival, access to the activities listed below, and a tractor ride out to the field to gather your own Jack-O-Lantern. For the kiddies: Tractor rides, hay bale slides, pig races, a corn-filled box to play in, corn-chucking guns, swings, stuff to climb on, and a quasi-animal farm to visit. There are also some corn maze walk throughs geared for the little ones. For the grown ups: All of the above plus some night time corn mazes. Fire pits for an evening setting and picnic tables for food. There is food on premise and it is as good / bad as you would expect and very affordable. This is a "local flare" thing. It's a great way to spend a few hours and let the kids pick out a pumpkin. read more

Took the whole Family and Grandkids, it was a hot day, very friendly staff, very organized, the port-a-johns where the cleanest I have ever seen! The concessions where fair priced and tasted great! Get the Kettle Corn and the potatoes! The wagon ride at the end, the way we did the day, was great, the 2-young me where very helpful, cut the pumpkins and put them on the trailer for us, for a hot day in Sept, would definitely go again! I have been coming to BIF from the first time they opened went last weekend and I will never be coming back.. it was a complete waist of money. At the reptile guy in the scare part he told us eh u don't seem to scared we are busy just keep going, great acting! also it was so crowed in the maze you would come up to a scare part and there was 4 other groups waiting to go through it so you already knew what was coming, not to mention walking around a corner to she a scarer on there phone. And at the clown part we seen one clown and he said just go this way cause this line is huge..well he pointed us to the way out this was a waist of 60 bucks and wouldn't recommend anyone here it was a joke read more

Over rated and over priced. The maze was not a great design and about 1/3 of it this year was only about 3 feet tall/so not much of a maze on that part. The dust was another issue/any wind and it quickly turns into a mess/hard to see/hard to breath. Food trucks served good food, but the wait time to actually get the food was atrocious. Almost 30 minutes. Also, they lacked decent seating and did not have any covered seating. They do have a live band, but they only play country/gospel music. Not our thing. And to top it off, they won't give a refund or raincheck under any circumstance. We won't be back. read more

I bought my tickets online while standing in a very large line since the website said you could redeem your tickets in a separate area with no line on the weekends. When I got to that area I was told repeatedly by multiple people I could not get in without standing in the long line. I wasn't trying to steal from them but they were very rude. read more

Great place to go on a date. Or to bring your kids. Or to go for any kind of fun really. I will say the courtyard is a little underwhelming for the price. There's not much to do if you're older than 5. The tall slide is a lot of fun but it gets old of course. The live music is I'm my personal opinion subpar but it's cool they have it. The saving Grace is probably the haunted corn maze. It's not so scary that you couldn't bring your sixth grader, but it is a good time. There's plenty of jump scares get your blood pumping and a good amount of problem solving. Overall it's a good experience and I had fun. I can't get over the price though - We payed $40 for about an hour of fun. read more

What a great place. My wife, son and I spent a lovely few hours here going through the corn maze, hay ride and other attractions. We were even able to do all the activities while pushing a stroller. I have visited this place for the past 3 falls and I love it. I think the best time to visit is on a Saturday morning in October. They have food vendors and little retailers. I did the corn maze and picked a pumpkin from the patch. I didn't bother with the spook alley-I'm too grown for that. I've heard they have bonfires at night, which sounds cool. Their kettle corn is delicious and I always buy several squashes, which are seriously marked up at any regular grocery store. This is probably a great place for families, as they have kid things. Haunted portion of this attraction is a joke. Rude kids and cutting in line. Poor management of crowds and 2 hours waiting to see a 2 minute joke of a scare you already heard most of while waiting just outside the door to get in for two hours? Fun place with lots to do for all ages. The corn maze is always a good time, it's fun to see what design they do from year to year. It really gets pitch black in there once night falls. They have food trucks often, live music is on point, yummy kettle corn, hot chocolate, cute animals, the list goes on and on. The corn cops do their best to keep people on the paths in the corn maze, but with such a huge maze, they can only do so much, there will always be people trying to ruin the fun for others. I also feel like although there's lots to do here, it's a little pricey. I'm sure these farmers make some pretty good money... But I can't complain too much, I do come every Fall! Go to Black Is. Farm! We just went on Monday and have already decided to make it a tradition! We have a 17 month old. She was a little small for some of the stuff in the courtyard but still had a blast pretending to participate lol! The tractor ride to the pumpkin patch was super fun. It was fun to see how excited all the little kids and even adults were out there picking out pumpkins. The farmer's market had insanely good deals. We bought some gourds and a large bundle of corn stocks to finish off a harvest display at home....all for $6. Where else can you buy all that for $6?! Exactly, nowhere. Ohhh boy, the line of food trucks is awesome! There is something for everyone! No pressure to go stand in line so you don't miss the next tractor departure. Just go when you want and there will be one coming shortly. Chill out, eat, wander around, take pictures. Some people bring folding chairs and a table and sit out the back of their car or truck, like a little family tailgate party. Plus the sunset is beautiful up there, glowing over the field of corn. Last year this was so much fun. After yesterday we will not go again. My daughter went early and bought tickets with the fast pass. $19 each. When we arrived the sign said there were no good pumpkins in the field so the hayride was free but we could use our $19 tickets to go in the play area. They gave us back $3 because we complained and one couple got a full refund. We stayed because of our three grandkids but it was not worth the $16 we paid for each of us. Took my kids here for their Halloween fun. Of all places that we've had activities this one was great. One of the most complex corn mazes I've been to although their bridge connecting the 2 mazes moved with the wind. Kids loved the different slides and bounce house and I enjoyed the fire pits being lit when it got darker and cooler. My favorite part was the hay ride and the pumpkins. I drove all the way from Sandy to get here and will continue to do so every year! read more
