I got my nose pierced here and honestly had a very pleasant experience with the lady at the front taking appointment and payments, she was really funny and personable. It was a Friday night, moderately busy but I didn't have to wait too long to have my name called and get the piercing done. I have not had piercing before, so I can't speak too much on the comparison to other establishments but from what I experienced it was a very clean, quick and easy process. Definitely painful, and the guy piercing my nose didn't say a word to me even when I made a nervous joke. (What can ya do!) but I would definitely come back here for another piercing. Amazing all around! All the staff, from what I experienced, are very kind and they make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. My two friends and I went to get a few piercings done. I had my nose done, my friend had her tragus, and my other friend her top two cartilage. The man who did our piercings (somehow we completely forgot to catch his name! But he had a neck tattoo that said emily) was so incredibly nice. I went first, and I was pretty nervous! He got it done quickly, gently, and explained everything very well. He even was laughing and seemed to be having fun with us. (My nose piercing was only $42 after tax! Not including the tips we added, but their base prices are VERY fair). This is the worst place I have ever been to to get a tattoo and I'm from Las Vegas and have gotten tattoos out there and alabama and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is rude there and now I have an unfinished tattoo that I already paid for up front. They pushed my appointment off twice due to my tattoo not being completely healed which is understandable but now they're telling me I have to give them more money to even finish it and that tattoo artist isn't very good to begin with. Very unprofessional place. I now have a family member finishing my tattoo and fixing some of the parts on my tattoo that are messed up. They told me I shouldn't have even gone there too get a tattoo in the first place. I wish I would've known before I wasted my money on very little ink work that got done. read more

I got a very simple tattoo, pretty small on my wrist. Maybe 2"x 3", it's 8 lines, that's it. One line was completely jacked up. And then the points where they meet are all messed up. Set up an appointment no problem, got a BOGO deal for my nipple piercings (for the month of October I believe). Not sure the name of the guy that did them, but it was very quick and pretty much painless. It was my second time getting them done and I had a MUCH better experience here than the first time! I just want to take some time to thank Ryan Bill to the great job he did. Not only is he very patient but he's also very professional. I went in with two ideas but wasn't very clear on how to execute them...he immediately understood what I wanted and was able to put it on beautiful drawings. I also have to give props to every employee I had contact with because they were very polite and personable. When it came time to tattoo, Ryan was very patient with all the questions I had and he has a very soft hand, I barely felt the needles. I went in a week ago to get my first tattoo. I came in with a very simple design; and they were very upfront with what they would recommend changing in order to make sure lines didn't bleed together. Cannot speak about the tattoo artists but I was unimpressed with the piercing staff. Everytime I've gone in their piercers seem to be late despite being within the hours posted. Jewlry selection is rather poor and the initial jewlry they put it was low quality (what can you expect for $5?). I had a double forwarded helix and tragus done here. After two months of constant irritation I went to a shop in Atlanta, for a second opinion. Even though I was well shy of the 6 month healing time, they changed out for neometal press fit labret studs. Within days all irritation was gone. The first tattoo I received in the Columbus area was at Ink 66. The vibes I got were kind of mixed, and the piece I got done could've been done better. Needless to say, I wasn't too impressed. Then I moved on to Black Lotus. So far I've received a septum piercing, and three tattoos... One of those tattoos being a coverup of the piece I got done at Ink 66. Out of all the tattoo shops I've been to, I have to say I like Black Lotus the best. Also, at one of my most recent sessions I was told that the artists are trying not to schedule any appointments on Saturdays unless they have to, that way they can focus on taking walk-ins. I just had a tattoo done by Harley at Black Lotus. I had given her some sketches and explained what I was looking for and what the tattoo meant to me. She totally nailed it on the first try. I couldn't be happier. And despite warnings from countless friends the experience was relatively painless. And since the tattoo was on my back, Harley kept me updated as to what she was doing. The vibe at Black Lotus is also very chill. I was worried about getting a tattoo in a military town, but Black Lotus is woman owned and very un-macho. I was super excited to get my first tattoo and being naive in the tattooing world and as it was a super small super simple and wouldn't take more than 30 minutes to sketch and apply. I went there at 1 p.m. with my boyfriend and asked if they had an artist available. I showed the lady at the counter the design I wanted and she said she'd check. Went back for less than a minute and came right back out saying," Sorry, they just started a 2 hour session and won't be done until around 3." So she handed me a card and said to call before we came to make sure there was someone available. She was super nice and helpful and so, still optimistic, we went home and called around 3:30 (an honest mistake we lost track of time) and a different girl answered the phone and said they absolutely do not do walk ins before 4 and to go ahead and come in at 4 to get it done. A little confused but still undeterred we went back a little after 4 and another girl (possibly the one on the phone but didn't really sound the same) was at the counter and when I asked if they had an artist available she said not until 7:30 as there was a WAITLIST for WALK-INS. Like I said, I'm no tattooing expert, but I have never ever heard of a waitlist for walk ins. Also, the other girl(s) had failed to mention this in any previous communication. I was told to call back at 7:00 and see if the artist who would be available at 7:30 was done. I told them that I wasn't gonna bother and was going to a different shop. So I did, went there, got everything sketched, fitted, and inked in less than an hour. My tattoo looks great, no thanks to these guys. read more

My friend and I decided to get small wrist tattoos together (she was already tattooed, I was not). Walking into the shop we were immediately attended to, patiently spoken with and we felt really welcome and understood. However - we were a bit set back when the artists were suggesting bigger pieces instead of our small wrist tattoos. We were debating whether to go through with it or not since it was not what we wanted. We spoke to Marc first but even though his artwork looks just as stunning, we decided to go with Holly since she is using smaller needles. The morning of the day we had our appointment I actually decided not to get a tattoo since it was not what I wanted but Holly blew all my concerns and arguments out of the window with her advice. She explained why they refrain from small wrist tattoos and was patient especially with me (since this was my first tattoo) and made great suggestions on the tattoo of my friend. If we insisted on the tattoos we originally wanted, she would have done it but from her artist perspective and the fact that this is forever, she would not be happy to do it. Needless to say - I have my tattoo. Not where I wanted it, not the size I wanted it but it looks amazing and I am super happy I listened and went with the choice that was presented to me. So much better than what I originally wanted! -* A clean shop, super friendly and patient staff and great artists. -* They are honest with you and do not shy away of making clear that this is forever. -* You get 3 months for free touch ups if any should be necessary. -* They explain exactly what to do after you get your tattoo. -* They are super accommodating and take their time and they give good advice and recommendations. -* They give you an estimate on what you want. -* You have to put down a pre-payment if you make an appointment which will be taken off the final price of the tattoo and they keep it if you don't show up (which is fair). -* They have an ATM in the shop. -* The parking is right at the store outside. -* The Iron Rose next to Ranger Joe's is their second shop. I scheduled an appointment a month in advanced with Tania with a deposit. I was told before the appointment she would contact me to show me the work. I called the shop, she was not their, I was concerned because it had been two weeks and I haven't heard from her, also I never received a call from her. I called a day after my appointment to see what was going on, because I never heard from anyone. I was thinking that maybe something happened and it was a honest mistake. As soon as i asked about my appointment time, the man who answered the phone checked with Tania. She claimed she called one time and left a message. I asked the guy on the phone what number did she call from, he said the store. I have no missed calls or any voice message from any person at the Black Lotus. I even checked my online phone account. It was alarming the lack of customer service. Because she said she called but can not provide any proof that she did, the man on the phone dismissed my claim as no show no call...... I am confused, I paid the deposit and was told I would be contacted with in a week. She claims she called a week before the appointment one time that I made over a moth ago, which again they cant provide proof. What is wrong with saying I forgot to contact you, I am sorry can we reschedule. I have gotten work done from there and sent many people there. I will not any more! Got a tat here last july. Showed a picture of what I wanted and the "Artist " was like yeah. He did a shitty job and not even close to the picture. I would have been fine if he said he couldn't do it. My friends say my tat looks like a candy cane and I now have to get a professional to fix it. This wasn't some crazy idea tat.
