Warning to Future Customers of Black Lotus Tattoo Studio in Lake City, FL: I don't usually put businesses on blast, but I feel it's important to share the experience my boyfriend had with Raven at Black Lotus. He paid $1300 in full and in advance for a tattoo that was not even a quarter finished. The work performed was subpar, and when he politely expressed his concerns, Raven responded with extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism, as you can see in the screenshots. My boyfriend is one of the sweetest and kindest people I know, and he's too nice to speak up about this. I'm not going to sit back and let someone take advantage of him. Losing that much money for an incomplete and poorly executed service can be devastating for anyone, especially when you trust someone with your body and your hard-earned money. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this kind of experience. Thankfully, he went to Travis at Voiced by Design, who was able to flawlessly fix the tattoo. Travis did an incredible job, and I can't recommend him enough for his skill and professionalism. Please be cautious if you decide to go with Raven, and know that there are talented artists in Lake City like Travis who can really make a difference. read more

The only reason this place has a 1 star is because of the fact the owner James Barnhill messed up a tattoo on my wife and it got infected and caused problems I tried to talk to James and he always had a excuse for the reasons and blamed it on his wife at the time saying she put tap water in his ink now that I got the BBB involved this will get settled and the tattoo is still not healed and I was informed the shop is working under no licensing at this time read more

This is one of the friendliest and nicest little tattoo shops I've ever been to. My sister and I got tattoos of a drawing our father did who recently passed away. We wanted it done exactly as he drew it and James delivered. He was so wonderful and my sister and I enjoyed working with him. Some artists can be pushy and intimidating but he was friendly and accommodating. While doing the tattoo James is gentle and quick. It also healed wonderfully. In regards to the shop it is welcoming, clean and has all the proper certificates displayed. Before we left we met his wife Raven who is another tattoo artist there. She was very friendly as well and a very talented artist from looking at her work. Be sure to make an appointment here because I don't think they do walk-ins but I could be wrong.
