I took a hot yoga class last week, it was my first experience in the studio. The front desk felt super unwelcoming. There was no greeting, it felt like they just took my money for the class and then they we're done engaging with me after the transaction had been made. There was no direction for which room to go into. The actual class itself was an overall enjoyable experience. Again, no greeting or introduction from the instructor. I wasn't sure who was leading the class until it actually began. However, the instructor was energetic and gave clear guiding instructions. The entryway and halls leading to the restroom are all crowded. I wish that there was more signage and direction for where to go. read more

I've been apart of the Bikram yoga community in Utah for over 20 years. Going to yoga for me is a place to meditate while exercising. it should be a place to release stress and emotion. The studio is usually a place that is sacred to prepare you for an internal practice, as well as external. Black Orchid yoga is not that. The instructors are good at what the teach, but it is not yoga. With the blaring music of pop, rap, and various genres keep you moving, it is so loud you cannot hear the instructors. This is more of a low impact aerobic exercise. I was also disappointed that other clients do not respect the dogs of the studio. There are signs that tell you to take off your shoes in the studio, but women walk in wearing tennis shoes. i have attended over ten different classes at Black orchid with 5 different instructors and the common theme is loud and music distraction. If someone is looking for a yoga studio this is not the place. read more

My first hot yoga experience was great! Although it was a full house for $5 community yoga, it was a fun atmosphere with great camaraderie and a good class flow. The lighting and music were fun and the heat was great, but not unbearable. Clean and friendly and a very good experience! read more

This place is the definition of a community-oriented studio. Zero drama, lots of smiles and a diverse array of classes for all the feels. I drive down from Red Lodge at least once a week to take a class or two. So grateful to have found this studio!!! read more

We were in town for a few days and wanted to get in some yoga. We liked that the Black Orchid offered different types of yoga classes as well as spin. While we didn't get to take a spin class, we really enjoyed the express lunch yoga classes. We had different instructors, but they were both great. The studio is laid back and not pretentious. It can be hard to be a new person at a yoga studio, but we were welcomed warmly. read more

Ok, so Peter (owner) reached out, apologetically explaining that his class is indeed fitness not yoga and I must have read the schedule wrong. He invited me to try again and I will. It is a gorgeous studio with an overall really good energy. Rather than getting mad that I was negative about his class, Peter reached out, calm and kind, and invited me to try again. Tons of energy when you walk in the door and the spin class I took mirrors the same energy! I have been doing yoga for a while now, and I can tell you this is the best hot yoga studio in town! I haven't done the barre classes, but I'm sure they are great. It's a beautiful studio. They keep the room at a perfect temperature. The instructors have all been wonderful and and laid back. It's perfect for new and experienced yogis, as they give great explanation and go at a good pace. I would give it 5 stars, but I just wish there were more class times, especially in the early afternoon. Also, a single class is pretty expensive. You can however do the new student special, and if you like it, getting a membership would be the way to go price wise. The new student special I think was like $15 for 2 weeks, which is awesome!!
