My family and I were invited to go out with my husband's long lost childhood friends to 1. hang out, 2. catch up and 3. try out a new restaurant. We narrowed the list to several restaurants, but thought that eating boodle style will be more fun and more extraordinary than the regular dining experience ,so we settled to eat at Blackbeard's Seafood Island.
We ordered from their famous boodle feast list and picked Magellan's Landing seafood platter which consists of Danggit Chips with Pineapple Salsa, Kinilaw na Tanguigue, Grilled Tilapia, Grilled Squid and Shrimps, Steamed Crab, Chicken Inasal, Grilled Vegetables and Bagoong Rice. You have a choice between 3-4 or 5-6 serving size and we picked the latter, but since our group were composed of three guys, 2 little kids and myself, we were not even half full after taking the boodle challenge and needed to order the Tali beach which composes of Grilled Chicken, inasal big BBQ, steamed white shrimps, grilled tilapia, grilled tahong, crabs, grilled squid, grilled tomatoes, lato, mangga, pakwan with steamed rice.
The Aftermath- There was nothing really special about the food and I find their servings small for 5-6 people, but overall I still enjoyed eating boodle style with friends and I get to try something new too. read more
