I've been here a couple of times pre-pandemic and they had a slide, but I guess they remodeled it and took out the slide, but everything was very clean and organized. There were a number of Lifeguards on duty at each pool and making sure the children were all safely jumping feet first into the pool and walking around. I haven't been here since pre-Covid pandemic times. This was a great day to take the kids for a swim. Times have changed. We had to start at the larger pool since there was apparently swim lessons in the smaller pool. Then maybe about an hour later, we were able to move to the smaller pool. The temperature of the pool water was warm. Even though it was a hot day, it was relaxing to be in the warm water. The kids were looking forward to the snack shack, but it was closed. Supposedly it can only open if the temperature was 85 degrees! The children checked their smart watches and saw it was 84 degrees. Unfortunately the snack shack remained closed. All the life guards were attentive to all the swimmers and non-swimmers. We felt safe. read more

We've lived in this area for so long, but this past weekend we had our first visit to the Blackberry Farm pool. Reservations are currently required so make sure you reserve your spots online beforehand. There is ample parking and you check in at the booth before entering the pool area. You aren't allowed to bring your own inflatables, but you can check out floaties and life vests for free. You just need to leave your ID with them. There are 2 pools, and one is pretty shallow (3-3.5") and perfect for toddlers-preschoolers. They have a water slide but it's closed due to Covid (during summer 2022). I loved the big lawn area, where families laid out picnic blankets under the shade. There is a small cafe with a limited selection of food and snacks (e.g. curly fries, chicken strips, corn dogs). There are 3 outdoor showers and one has a detached shower head so it's convenient for kids. There's also an indoor shower and bathroom stalls as well. Bonus- there is a small playground just outside the pool area. It had lots of shade during the afternoon around 1pm. We really enjoyed this community pool and I would recommend it to other families! read more

What a great spot to connect with nature in the middle of busy Silicon Valley! I got a chance to connect with a ranger who was super friendly and helpful and gave me some pointers. I went on a small walk here and saw multiple deer and owls. There is a lot of greenery and a creek that runs through the park. There is a pool on site but is closed now for the cold season. This is for the pool and for the lifeguards especially. I've been a few times now with my family and in COVID times and it's really well run from the number of folks in the pool to not feel overcrowded and just general atmosphere with spacing out cones so folks don't overcrowd in the grass. I especially appreciate the lifeguards who are especially vigilent. They regularly trade out across the time which I appreciate. I remember when I was younger that pools would have the lifeguard up there for hours and how does someone stay vigilent across that time. They are also very consistent and timely with alerting folks about activities and making sure kids aren't just going into the deep end. I saw a lifeguard jump in jacket and all yesterday when a child was struggling in the deep end. A kid playing near us mentioned that she had seen this multiple times the last time she was visiting too. As a parent, I really really appreciate seeing how great they are at keeping watch. It doesn't take away from parents watching over their kids, but it's easy for just a little distraction to turn into something deadly. Thank you Lifeguards of Blackberry Farm Pool! read more

Held a baby shower for my daughter. Many happy childhood memories attached to BlackBerry Farm, and this event brought back so many joyful sights, smells, laughter and joy. Run by the City of Cupertino with free parking, driven cart service to and from reserved picnic area (such a helpful feature), bbq pits, water/sinks, swimming (a bit costly, but ok since parking and cart service are free), snack bar, two pools, ball fields, trails, and friendly, helpful staff (very well staffed). I highly recommend for a fun, outdoor, casual event! Could not be happier!!! read more

What an absolute little gem. My husband and I are travelers. We have been exploring pretty much every town going north along the coast from San Diego (my hometown) and up. However, we have had to stay in San Jose for the last year for personal reasons, and I thought we had explored every nook and cranny of this beautiful progressive city. How surprised was I when looking for a pool to beat the heat, google maps led us to this delightful not-so-little oasis smack dab in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood, with 2 pools that are well maintained as well as large bathrooms equally if not more well kept. The picnic area is perfect for any social gathering and the trail is equal to that of the south side of the Los Gatos Creek Trail, if not better. Family owned since forever ago, it's a fantastic place to immerse yourself in the stillness of nature without having to go too far out of town. We biked it super early in the morning and there were tons of deer. Running into this cool little spot is the reason I do what I do and always will. On that note, I think I'm ready for a dip. And remember......Take care of the land (pick up trash, respect the floral and fauna etc...) and the land will take care of you read more

I'm not even sure how this place got a bad review. Where do I begin? What a gorgeous place to visit...and what a perfect place to host a birthday party. We opted to rent a BBQ site, too, and were able to cook hot meals....AND....serve beer and wine with our meal! Amazing. Did we have to clean up the OUTDOOR picnic tables? Sure, but they are located out in this great part of Cupertino Hills, and it was such a great getaway just minutes away from the hustle and bustle. I loved how you walked over a bridge, with running water as you leave the pool to walk to the picnic area. There is a cafe, and with the pool party reservation (which is good ALL day long...not just for some 2 or 3 hour time slot) you get water and soda in a bucket for your party. And the helpful staff at Blackberry Farm & Pool was gracious enough to tote everything back and forth while we moved from picnic site to canopy pool site. I do recommend bringing pop up chairs and additional tables if you are only using the pool site for your party. But, otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend trying parties at this location. The kids absolutely loved it all! Great customer service! Great facilities. We're going to have to make it a point to use this pool during the Summer. read more

Do not go here, the lifeguards are young "adults" given too much authority and will kick you out without any fair warning or justification. I met a group of parents with their children and immediately upon walking in we were approached to not bring snorkels in. That was fine, after an hour that's when things started to go sideways. There were about two lifeguards per pool with whistles in their mouth ready to whistle you or your kids into submission -- obviously young adults who have NO EXPERIENCE with children. Everything my boys did was "unruly" from swimming near the edge of the pool to piggy back riding. We were later approached by the park ranger saying "we've had several complaints about your party and need to pack up and leave". It was outrageous. I went to the head girl in charge, Kirsten, with her snippy buddy in a green shirt with a nose ring and they accused me of being intoxicated and she was quick to yell in-front of the entire water park "I want you out! Get out now!" It was completely out of line and I could not believe these "lifeguards" can just make accusations and then kick you out because they felt like it. There was no warning, we were never spoken to or approached - just a ranger was sent to kick us out and circle us while packing. It was truly the worst experience I ever had and makes me question was it because we had multiple parties who were of color? They seemed to only whistle at the children of color. In the end, after being completely humiliated we were met with lifeguards towering over us yelling "get out". Looking at the other one star reviews it seems the lack of communication and abuse of power is commonplace. Very sad. So if you want to have some good family fun, this isn't it. read more

We've enjoyed visiting the Blackberry Farm pool recently on a few hot summer's days. Due to covid, reservations are required, and they are limiting the amount of people that can make reservations (you can reserve 1.75 hour blocks). There are cones set up on the lawn for social distancing, and the slide is not currently open. There are 2 pools, one shallow for younger kids and a larger, deeper one for adults. Young children must have an adult in the water with them. They do have life jackets and floaties available for the kiddos that can't swim, thought you can bring your own so long as it Is coast guard approved. read more

Theres a play area with slides and stuff, a working farm with animals (fyi there's lots of flies which is normal for a farm), new-ish educational rooms, and a swimming pool. Everyone who helped us that day was great...however I really felt it was necessary to write a review and let people know that they have an INSANE WASP PROBLEM! I don't know how more people haven't written about it! I planned my daughters first bday there and I had food catered in. They swarmed our whole picnic area causing us to move THREE times and we were still swarmed by the wasps! It was so scary because we had little babies there and so much food! I really wish I would have known this because it literally ruined the party and I wanted my daughter's first birthday to be special. Don't let the first impression fool you, Blackberry farm is a hidden gem! After a short, intimidating ride, the street opens up to an expanse that clearly shows the pools, trails and golf course. You can walk around and see beginer golfers playing next to you. As expected, they shoot at many fantastic directions. Don't worry. You are fully protected. If anyone attends the group picnic area, make sure everyone grabs a wrist band to enter the pool area. The staff failed to communicate with one another because after swimming for two hours they informed us we all had to have a wrist band to be in the area. When we were in the group picnic area the staff said who ever was going to be swimming needed a wrist band. One of the lifeguards came out and started talking to a family informing them they all needed a wrist band to be in the area. She later came back to apologize. Literally 30 minutes pass and a ranger comes out, begins to tell everyone who did not have a wrist band that we need a wrist band. My family and I decided to just leave. Many of the families who just started to swim also got up and left. Most importantly, the staff needs to improve on their communication skills. read more

Paved paths + almost 100% shaded + free parking + enough clean seating = one great baby-afternoon We started from McClellan Ranch parking lot and walked through the volleyball courts and fields to Blackberry Farm which is about half mile. Squatted at the benches right outside the swimming pool for a quick snack for us and the baby. Pool looked great for kid activities - made a personal note to return to the pool when the baby is old enough. Walked around the picnic areas which were all reserved for birthday parties (who wouldn't love to have their birthday party here!). I like it because is is a california native plant restoration site. The facilities are new. There is a pool, cafe, playgrounds, bike paths and much more. The trees provide a lot of shade, especially, for the sunny and hot days. I would like to go back and bring friends to check out Steven Creek. read more

Attended a birthday party at this farm today. Didn't get to explore much of it except the picnic and pool area. There is a parking lot which offers free parking. Walk towards the entrance where you can pay for your wristbands to enter the pool. We were part of the bday party so we got a discount of $3pp. You need a wristband if you are over the age of two. To the right is the picnic area which has several tables with BBQs. The steelhead area had a few tables in the shade so that was nice. You have to walk over this little bridge to get to the picnic area. There is a little stream under the bridge which was nice. The opposite end of the picnic area is the pool area which has two pools. One with a big water slide for the older kids. That pool has a shallow end that starts at 2.5 feet. There was three lifeguards at that pool. The other pool is bigger. There is a nice grassy area where people set up tents and their towels. The water was set at a nice temperature which you get used to real quick. The restrooms are spacious and clean. This is a great spot to celebrate a bday party! read more

My wife wanted me to take the kids to Raging Waters one afternoon, but seeing as how there was a few hours left in the day, I decided to bring them to Blackberry Farm instead and saved RW for a full day. Now, I hadn't been back since I was a kid, and I was surprised to see that it had completely changed. According to the staff, the park was closed for a bit and re-opened a few years ago. For those who remember old Blackberry, there have been a few important changes: - You don't pay at the top of the hill anymore. Instead, the only admission fees are to enter the pool gates and make a reservation. - Anyone who goes into the pool area MUST have a day pass. At first I didn't understand this rule but your swim wristband is good ALL DAY, meaning you can leave, get lunch, and come back. - There are no open picnic areas anymore. They told us all picnic sites needed a reservation. This is probably the most important change, so please be aware! Overall, we had an excellent experience. The staff was very helpful and answered all our questions. They have vigilant lifeguards all around the pools which made me feel more safe. My only complaint would be that the cafe prices are a little steep, but it beats RW food prices any day. We definitely will be back! read more

In the summer where there's a creek below. More than 8 years ago, I came here, to catch minnows and try to catch crayfish for fun! The trees make for nice shade, which can shield you from the hot sun. There are picnic benches where you can pack a light lunch and eat. There is not much of a hike here. There we were, planning a last minute Going Away BBQ and with every hip picnic site area being reserved months in advance, we were desperate for a Hail Mary. It was in the eleventh hour that Blackberry Farm arose like a lighthouse during a tumultuous storm and we were able to reserve a location for our bittersweet festivities. We reserved the Bobcat site and loved the location. We knew our jovial shindig was about to get crazy and we appreciated the secluded atmosphere. However, it is important to note for future visitors that the Bobcat site is the rearmost site and may not like the distance from the pools. However, since our plans did not involve any aquatic adventures this point was moot. Additionally, the facility provides most helpful (and appreciated) cart service for your BBQ items and the absurdly friendly staff will transport your stuff from your car to the parking lot. I won't go into detail over the remainder of our stay, but please note that all guests had a jocose and lively experience. The facilities were quite tidy and everything looked to be running smoothly. It is clear that the owners of this secluded gem really know what they're doing. read more
