My room was recently updated, appeared to be very clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, the walls in this hotel are absolutely paper thin. My neighbour in the adjoined room decided to have a conversation on both mornings during my stay at full volume at 4:00am and woke me up. The second time I complained and they did call him from the front desk but I couldn't get back to sleep. If anyone reading this is a parent to a toddler, you would understand just how much I needed/wanted these opportunities to sleep in. Just a bit lol but I digress. It was also a learning for me to always travel with earplugs. I would not stay here again for work or pleasure.

They use LED lighting everywhere here, and it gave my room a really neat white glow. The part where they skimped out on? The corridors. You'll think you stepped back into the 1990s. I know the Holiday Inn logo is lime-green, and that's what the interior designers were gunning for, but seriously, the walls look tacky. Please change it to navy blue or something. There is a pool here, but it's obviously designed for kids. I thought I'd take a look (with the idea of doing some laps) but one look at all the screaming kids and I changed my mind. There are even fairyland-type statuettes all over. As in smiling snails and mushrooms. See pic. I couldn't run away fast enough. If kids make you jittery, you're probably better off going for the Hilton or Sheraton, which are also closer to the airport. However, if you want a cheap place to stay on a weeknight (when the Hilton cranks their rates), this is a half-decent option.

It was my first time visiting Canada and the staff went above and beyond to celebrate my arrival. My room was wonderful, I had great views of the city and the bed was extremely comfortable- I didn't want to leave! Staying on Fairmont's gold floor had me feeling as if I were royalty. I loved the breakfast spread and the evening appetizers served in the lounge. Food was so fresh and you could tell it was all prepared in house by the chefs. I ordered room service a few times and this is how I fell in love with Winnipegs famous honey dill sauce. The one factor that made my stay unforgettable was how kind and attentive the staff are. From the doormen, housekeeping, Fairmont gold team members and general manager- they all truly made my stay so very special. The hospitality displayed at this hotel is unlike anything I've ever experienced before. Anytime I am in Winnipeg, the Fairmont is the only place for me.

It's a lot of concrete, clean lines, and natural light. Lovely. We unfortunately couldn't find a family shower or wheelchair accessible shower in the main comfort station so we all had to pile in to do the kids bath but it was spacious and alright! We did laundry and explored the take a book leave a book library and had so much fun. The actual campsites are pretty big and open, it's the prairies after all, but there are also lovely trees here. And tons of cute prairie dogs. And also tons of poison ivy so watch out!

I have yet to see them standing around just chatting or leaning on a counter looking bored. I would hire these people any day. The free breakfast is good. Everything is hot that should be and tastes pretty good as well. The location is close to the forks and the Skywalk and under ground shopping. When we came back last night security was walking the parking lot. I'm not sure if it was to make sure no one parked without a ticket in their window or for our safety but either way we were able to get a spot and felt safe going into the hotel. And as always the security was smiling and asked us how our evening was. We will stay here next time we are in Winnipeg.

The entertainment is incredible, always something happening at the pool Stage/tiki bar/main stage. My family has made so many incredible memories here throughout the years and we are always looking forward to our next stay. The resort let's you bring in your own food into the pool area (no franchise food) and your own alcohol. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the event weekends (Halloween in August, Christmas in July etc) are phenomenal. Staff is friendly and the owners are very easy to talk to. Lilac resort used to have mini golf, and I think they should bring it back!... Yes, I am that old! Just saying in regards to the review mentioning "swingers" that is nonsense, I've been a loyal guest since I was a kid and never seen anything remotely close to a "swingers" hub . Lilac is an excellent family vacation destination. Definitely check it out! You gotta book fast though, usually a year in advance for certain weekends.

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience - Racially Profiled in Front of My Family…read more I stayed at Lilac Resort with my wife and children just two days ago. The next morning, the owner approached me and said the RCMP had instructed him to record number plates of people staying long-term and "doing paving." I found this odd but said no problem. Later that evening, while having a BBQ with my kids, I was approached by an RCMP officer who said I had been reported as a paving scammer. I was shocked. He asked for ID and questioned me -- all based on a false report from the resort. I confronted the owner, and he tried to brush it off, but the RCMP made it clear it was him who called. This happened purely because I'm Irish -- a disgusting and offensive stereotype. I was treated like a criminal in front of my own children, for no reason other than my ethnicity. This kind of racial profiling is not only morally wrong -- it's also legally unacceptable. No one should be targeted because of where they come from. On top of that, I've seen others complain about the number of surveillance cameras around the hot tubs -- which I also found strange and inappropriate for a family setting. I do not recommend staying here. If you care about respect and basic decency, stay away.

I appreciate the electric tea kettle in the room. Club on 12th floor is solid - I like there is attendant there for breakfast. Breakfast is decent: pancakes, croissant, scrambled eggs, sausage links. During the day that are soft drinks, chips and cookies. Again always very clean. Friendly service all around & and Elephant and Castle in the same building. I am a fan!!
