Almost 10 inches of snow and sleet and tonight it is supposed to all freeze over. I found NB Snowplowing on yelp, called and he was at my place within 45 minutes, clearing up my driveway. And he was even wonderful enough to shovel my walkway. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend NB Snowplowing and am going to recommend to my landlord that he switch his contracted service next year to them.

I enjoy the fact that they are a smaller operation, and as a result of that can offer more personalized service, in my opinion. For the past 3 years running, they have provided regular lawn service, including mowing and weed whacking. They also helped adjust the mowing schedule to work around my lawn aeration and reseeding this past summer. Also they've done a couple of other specialized things for me, most recently including a tree removal. Fall of 2025, they offered snow removal in addition to the lawn service. Based on the weather so far this year, I've gotten lucky. They have been here multiple times, plowing my driveway in spite of some special needs. ( Curb stones, anyone?). I needed an emergency plow during one of the December snowstorms, when my mother was taking to the hospital. Joe literally was in my driveway less than 10 minutes after I called to make sure that I was able to get out and get to the hospital. Can't say enough good things. Is it the cheapest service in the area? No (with an asterisk*). It's a little bit more than what you pay a larger company, emphasis on the little, but in my opinion, I'm getting much more personalized service. For the fall / winter of 2025 2026, they've added plowing to their resume. It's the first year, so sometimes growing pains might be expected. With the heavier snowfall this year, more than once they've been to my residence multiple times in a single day to plow my driveway out. I purposely took this machine there to see how the service was before I purchased a snow blower. Well, they lost a sale, I purchased my snow blower at Mike's TV and appliance. NSLS was too busy assembling new snow blowers to sell instead of also taking care if other customers. Very disappointed.

Upon posting my first review, the business owner apparently read it and so had his staff contact me…read morelast week (I believe her name was Debbie, but I could be wrong). She was very pleasant and apologetic, asking me if I could explain my grievances, so I told her exactly what I laid out in the initial review. She apologized and said that she would pass along the information to the owner, and I even gave them the number of another landscaper who ended up coming by to fix THEIR job, while doing more landscaping on my property. I mentioned that I am very familiar with landscaping through my background and friends, and that the standard of what is considered GOOD is that you would place between 2 1/2-3" of new mulch down, which would certainly be worth $1,500. I was told that their standard was 1".....that is what is known as a DUSTING in the industry and is done as a cosmetic job. It was NOT worth $1,500 in product and effort, and to be fair, I priced around for the square footage....FOUR DIFFERENT LANDSCAPING BUSINESSES LAUGHED AND SAID I WAS RIPPED OFF, and only two were local! To this day since our talk, they have not reached out to the landscaper I provided as a professional contact, nor has anyone tried to rectify and make things right now that they made me aware of their knowledge of my dissatisfaction. They may do a fine job with things like mowing and what you cannot cover up, but in my case, they cut corners, I researched the price for what I was billed and what they said they would do (it's written on my bill too), and nobody has done anything....not even a simple call and apology from the owner. He had his secretary call. Horrible service on his part and I would never go back nor could I ever recommend this place, sadly, as I would have used them to mow my lawn and do further work. Since, I've spent $10,000 in landscaping elsewhere.
