I not only have many animals of my own, I also foster animals. Lana has been very helpful in teaching me what to look out for if there are minor issues to deal with and how to best take care of all my critters. She has more passion for animals and their owners than I have ever seen in any other vet. Just a few weeks ago we lost a very special kitten to a dog, by the time I got there (with no warning call to her) our baby was gone. She (Lana) was amazing in helping me through an extremely painful situation (not the first we have been through with her). I can't praise her and her staff enough with how well I am taken care of! Today, my 13 years old baby, Nina, was having seizures, and when I took her to Dr Higgins (after calling in around 1:00 pm, they took her right in), not only they took care of her immediately, Dr Higgins called me, suggesting that he will take her home tonight, to monitor her, ( I am crying ), and I know he will do ANYTHING to help her not only as a vet, but as an exceptional human being, caring and compassionate person, that I have a privilege and honour to call him my veterinarian and in a way, my friend :) Thank you Pat for being you, and loving our babies as much as we do And thank you all dedicated staff there, always friendly, always so patient and compassionate to our furry babies, I am still wowed and grateful forever! I told Dr Higgins he is not "allowed" to retire any time soon, and thank God, it looks it won't happen any time soon! My dog needed an emergency C-section for her last pup based on their recommendation over the phone. They were right. Got her into surgery very quickly and charged what I thought was a very reasonable price. They also saved my dogs eye on one occasion. Overall great clinic and excellent emergency services.

I find that they aren't pushy but instead always provide me with enough information that I can make informed decisions on the health care of my pets. When we had to put our cat down they were very compassionate, supportive and respectful of how difficult the decision was. I saw Dr Tara as that is who my friend raved about. I found her to be nice and caring but I didn't feel a huge connection with her. The clinic has a dedicated cat room so I was impressed by this. The prices are fair way less expensive than a city vet. We took our youngest kitty Sophie for her 3rd round of vaccinations as she had her first 2 from the breeder. Like I said Dr Tara seems like a good vet but there was no "OMG I trust you 110%.". She did mention that she was ill with a cold and that she was a bit overwhelmed as she was the only vet that day (Saturday) and there were many emergencies so I tried to cut her some slack. However I had to call in to the clinic for some reason a week later and she answered the phone. She answered the phone using her name and when I asked her she was DOCTOR Tara she seemed nervous and asked if she should recognise my voice. I told her I met her the week before and explained who I was but she didn't seem to remember who I was. Anyway we might go back in a pinch but a few weeks later we took our 2nd youngest kitty to see Janice in Didsbury and we were reminded why we make the 2.5 hour drive.
