On vacation here for a week. Played 3/4/2024 as a single. 10:20 tee time, was paired with a threesome. Course was packed, I got one of the last tee times. I thought the course was in good shape for this early. Carts have GPS and track pace of play, 4:20 was a little slow but we only waited at the par 3's. We were golfing and having a good time. Unfortunately was put into a foursome so didn't know the other two guys. Had a twosome behind us so we let them play through. Then this guy shows up on maybe the 6th or 7th holes and belittled us about being 5 minutes behind our scheduled time allotted. That we should never be behind. That it was unacceptable even though I explained we let a twosome go through. This ruined our whole day. My son and I decided not to play a couple holes so we could get caught up. BTW we finished 22 minutes ahead of our time. Rude staff all around a bad experience for the price would not recommend golfing there. read more

Enjoyed the front 9 very much, short course but small fast greens made it challenging. I was in the first group off and when we made the turn it looked like a scramble going off 10 there were 3 groups going off 10? I elected to just play 9 I hate slow golf. The cart guys were super nice offered to get me a 9 hole rain check but I doubt if I'd ever make it back to the course. I would have loved it if they offered a reduced rate. Sad because it was my only round on vacation nice front 9 that's all I could see. read more

The fairways and tees are burned out due to lack of watering. Some of the traps have the bunker material showing. The greens are fine. The cart they have is had two cigarette buts in it and not clean. Needs lots of work. The front desk staff was not friendly. Will not go back. Men's bathroom was disgusting. read more

We traveled as a group of couples y from SE NC where we have beautiful courses that are WELL maintained to play for several days here in the area. This golf course was our first. Wow, what a disappointment! Unanimously we found the day a COMPLETE waste of the $75 pp we were charged! The driving range was closed, fairways were atrocious (with NO turf), greens were horrendous, the rough was inconsistently playable... What a disastrous beginning to our week of golf in the MB area ... Don't waste your time or money! read more

If there was a contest for most welcoming staff at the Beach, Blackmoor would certainly be near the top of the list. Had booked online and one of our players couldn't make it. Often, that means you're just stuck with the greens fee. Not at Blackmoor! Staff went out of their way to make sure I got a raincheck, with the ranger even coming out to us on the course to tell me it would be ready at the turn! Reasonably tight little Gary Player tract winding through the neighborhood. In pretty good shape considering all the rain in the last couple of weeks, some damage from standing water in fairways and on tee boxes. Clearly they were trying as best they could to keep it in shape. Unique ideas like closed circuit of the last Par 3 fed into the bar, and the 18th live on the club's website. This course was in terrible shape. Probably the worst I've played on in the many years of our group has taken this yearly trip. It needs to be closed for a couple months to heal. Much work is being done, but it is barely playable. Hole one is closed and instead of just playing 17 holes and giving a drink ticket or two, these idiots decide to play hole 7 as a Par 5 and setting up a par 3 on it as well so you play two balls into the green. this created a 30 minute wait on that hole alone. Not to mention, the group that was squeezed in front of us by the Marshalls was late to their tee time and allowed to bring a group that was not schedule. this cause a 30 minute delay to the start of the round. Not to mention the staff behind the counter was a total jerk. I would go on, but I think you get the point behind the disaster of a 6.5/7 hour round. Never coming back there. read more

The golf course was in decent shape but the rangers were A-holes. We played our round in 4hrs 15 minutes and we were badgered at least 4 times to "step up play". It was unnecessary and rude to say the least. I wouldn't recommend this course or plan to return. Too many courses in MB area that appreciate customers. This place is in-welcoming. The greens have been Aerated but seems like they need work. Fairways need to be cut and in front of greens wet on more then one green. Also seems like they need to train better on equipment, large tire tracks on two or three holes. We were out on course and saw a water cart come by once, not the cart snack , the person that supposed to bring you water because no coolers on course. read more

There isn't a better staff in all of a golf. I've never played at a more welcoming and friendly golf course in my life. And the course is a solid 10/10. A lot of challenging holes, great greens, and the ability to hit every club make this a favorite of ours for the past 15 years. We never miss playing here when we come to myrtle beach every year. I played Blackmoor Golf Club today, Saturday, June 20, 2022. We were charged $63, as locals. I'd always paid $43. The course was in horrible condition. There was very little grass on the tee boxes, fairways, or even in the rough. The sand traps had no sand in them. It was an absolute waste of money. I wouldn't play the course for free, much less for $63. I spoke to the guys who ran the golf carts, & they said it was because the rye grass had killed a lot of the Bermuda. Whatever the cause, don't waste your time & money on this piece of shit golf course. I grew up here in Myrtle Beach. There are plenty of well maintained courses. This isn't one of them. read more

Nice golf course for the money. Greens rolled well and the staff were all friendly for the exception of the course ranger that stopped by our group to let us know we were behind pace. Sorry for stopping in the club house to grab a drink and hot dog. "You weren't supposed to do that". Only group to catch up to us was a single that we let play thru mid back 9. Played here a week ago with my husband and another couple and as usual the course was in fabulous condition. The gentleman that has been at bag pick up for 25 years is one in a million, he always has a smile and a kind word. We have a home on another course in Murrells Inlet and we live in Michigan. When we decide to play a round Blackmoor is always are go to course. Looking forward to another round soon read more

Staff, both inside and out, were extremely friendly and accommodating, as we were there on a very busy day. They treated all of us, including our first-time junior player, with care and warmth. Course was in great shape for this time of the yeas. Bag guys and starter are top notch. Pro shop not so much. Be wary of booking tee times online as you may end up paying for your entire foursome. Your credit card will be charged for the entire group and it is your responsibility to collect from your partners. Plus I was charged an extra greens fee when I checked in. Got them to refund that however when I queried. Golf was enjoyable but I won't be booking online in Myrtle Beach anymore. read more

Good course for the price. $55 for me and my 11 yr old son played free. They paired us up with a couple who were members so they showed us the course. Fairways good, greens a little rough in spots and slower than what I was used to but decent enough. The rough was brown but early in the season. read more

Very nice golf course. I think visually it's a little more intimidating than it actually plays. White tees are right around 6000 yards and the par 3's aren't overly long. Max about 175. Tees, fairways and greens were excellent. You'd be hard pressed to find a ball mark on any of the greens. There were a couple of fairway spots that they were fighting a fungus or something but they were actually proactive enough to get the white spray paint out and circle the ares as ground under repair. That was a nice change because most courses are too lazy to be bothered. You won't find a nicer staff! They were kind enough to give my 13 year old the "junior rate" which was free! We were treated like guests at someone's house which, to me, is BETTER than being just a good customer. I can't say enough nice things about the people we encountered at every turn. We teed off at 7:38AM and played in about 4:15. This is Myrtle beach and their business is essentially golf. If you think you're going to play in a true golf destination like this in less than four hours you may need to adjust your expectations. No complaints here about anything at Blackmoor. We truly couldn't have had a nicer round! read more

Awesome place and the staff was fantastic. We were visiting and had to rent clubs. The cart with clubs was waiting for us with a smile. The pro shop staff was super helpful and friendly. The course was in fantastic shape, and a fun, but not too challenging course. They have multiple tee boxes that can give a beginner or novice a great advantage. We will absolutely be back! read more
