Love this addition in the Chinatown neighborhood! Having been here usually on weekends, they do get…read morequite busy (both cafe side and photo lab side). I usually get a flat white and you can let them know if you will be drinking in store so they do not give you a to go cup. The resident dog in store (I hope it is because each time I see him there haha) is adorable and so well behaved!! I really enjoy the vibes here but do keep in mind the store is slightly below ground level and there are stairs going down so not wheelchair accessible.

I stumbled upon Graination as I was walking along Spadina this week. I saw the words "specialty…read morecoffee" and I knew I had to pay a visit inside. Turns out they are in their soft opening currently where they opened about a week or two ago. Despite the coffee shop in the front of the store, they also have a photo lab at the back of the space. I saw lots of film being sold as well as overheard that they have processing services as well. I primarily came to try their coffee so I can't comment much on the photo lab services. Coffee wise the menu is basic and simple. A bit on the pricer side compared to other coffee shops in the city. They use Hatch coffee beans. I ordered a flat white to consume there. The staff were friendly and attentive and my drink was made at a reasonable time. The flat white was great. As I sipped on my drink, I admired the photography on display. They also have photography books to browse through as well! Overall, great new addition to the Chinatown area. Love the coffee and photo lab concept. Definitely would return to spend time in the space for a coffee!

I really want to give these guys a good review because Nick, the owner, is so nice - but I really…read morecan't. They have screwed up each and every single order I've had with them. Prints missing LITERALLY every time; twice they missed HALF the order! Duplicates or triplets of random photos. Emailing me the order is ready and then when I call in to pay and arrange pickup - they're not done. I have to help them FIND my order most times; commonly resending the job after days of searching for it. My last order which was placed on January 8th (with a request for pick up on January 10th), was not complete until January 16th. Only after I had to follow up as no one had replied to me at all! As it was too late for our event, I delayed the pickup and increased the order to well over 100 photos. When I paid and arranged my courier to pick up, the entire first half of the order was missing. I phoned in and the staff could not even locate the original emails. I had to resend them, which they magically received immediately. When they called for payment on these, they insisted on a fee that was a 56% increase on the rate I have ALWAYS paid. They insisted they were an odd size (4x7), when in fact 20 out of 22 originals were 4x6 standard). The amount of energy they have sucked out of me is tremendous. The lack of professionalism and communication is just one too many times. Friendly, but exceedingly incompetent and don't care to rectify their own errors. REALLY disappointed and frustrated. If you're going to mark up your fees after a history of hundreds of photos, the least you could've done was inform me first and have a valid reason to do so!!

I've been using this lab for over a year to scan, Photoshop and print my greeting cards,…read moreillustrations and art works. I've also done passport photos there. High quality, personal and prompt service. I also used them to convert my old VHS tapes to digital format. It's been around for a long time and I always see other customers there, that come from all over the city. So glad I found these guys!

There was no wait and the service was quick, and impeccable. I felt the photos were of good quality, it was a great value to get a passport photo with a fast turn around, I was in and out in less than 15min. They take cash that includes tax, so come prepared. They also have a mirror for you to check your appearance before taking the photo and the staff was able to gently and kindly remind me to move my hair, straighten up, etc to ensure the photo was taken to meet standards. The shop is located in the second floor so look for the sign, walk up a flight of stairs and you'll see the office shortly after getting up to the landing.

They are professional and love their work and it really shows. There's a mirror with combs and spraybottle in case you want to do some last min touch ups. They give directions for hair, pose, as well as some post shoot touchups. The whole process took less than 15 minutes and the photos always turn out really nice. I've had a few people see my passport and ask where I've gotten the photo done. Their prices are great too. My dad got lazy once and went somewhere else closer and he paid more for 1 copy than we usually do for 2. We haven't gone anywhere else ever since. This time I ended up getting two digital photos, but you have the choice of digital or 2 hard copy, and you can always come back later if you decide you also want the hard copy. Keep in mind it's cash only. They also do photo for babies. My go to spot for photos, highly recommend.
