I've been "helped" by her before and had the same experience, so I doubt it was coincidence that she was having another off day. I came into the store to return a defective item, and there were two women standing there chatting - I was not greeted when I came in and they made no effort to see if I needed any help - I had to approached them and interrupt their conversation (there were no customers in the store). Then one of them decided to acknowledge my presence and proceeded to tell me that the item that was broken was "not their problem, you broke it, not us". I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this store and have never returned anything, so when I come in with a product that literally broke the first time I tried to use it, that is not the response to offer. I pretty much said that, she made a phone call, and whoever was on the phone told her to take the return (which I exchanged btw for a more expensive item and paid the difference). This sort of "service" seems to be a bit of a theme in reading the reviews, and as much as I am a loyal Henry's customer, I will really think twice about coming back to Oakville because of this woman's attitude. Perhaps she's family and cannot be reprimanded, but if I owned the store, I'd make sure she knows her attitude is an issue!

This despite the fact that there were 4-5 employees doing other things. Because I had so much time, I looked at the buying some frames. However, the shelves were such a mess with frames put into slots with different items mixed together that it became impossible to figure anything out. Ultimately, my biggest complaint was that I had I to come back to the store multiple times because the manager lied to me and then refused to acknowledge the problem. I will definitively take my business elsewhere. I pointed this all out to the manager and he could not care less.

I agreed with him naturally since he mentioned it was a positive thing and people decided to give it a chance. I go in on the 8th and am absolutely thrilled at the piece. We talk for a good 8 minutes, the whole time I'm holding the cash in my hand that I owe, which is $50. The conversation then turns and he tells me he had unexpected expenses and now the piece costs $120!!!!. He didn't mention this on the call 3 days earlier, or the first 10 minutes I am there holding the money. He sees how much I love the piece and decides to gouge me knowing I needed it and I will pay. So I paid. But now I will make it my mission to spread awareness at this business owners crooked practices.

On one large canvas order, several pieces arrived with marks and indentations caused by the packaging. To their credit, they made it right and replaced the damaged canvases. Unfortunately, a few orders later the same issue happened again. This time there was resistance, and I was ultimately told it was my responsibility to take the matter up with Canada Post. I didn't pursue that, as there was no damage to the shipping boxes themselves. I lost money as I had to discount my work. When the company updated their website, I ran into a few technical glitches, but customer service was prompt and helpful in resolving them. I wish I could say the same about how the ongoing canvas issues were handled. These canvases are not for me, they are for my clients. Because of repeated packaging problems, I would never feel comfortable having orders shipped directly to their homes. I won't ask my clients to photograph boxes and damaged canvases in order to fix an issue that should never happen in the first place, especially when the company won't stand behind it. I decided to give them one last try in late 2024, ordering again with high hopes. Two of the three canvases arrived perfect and beautiful. The third and largest had the other two packed on top of it. As soon as I opened the box, I had a bad feeling, and sure enough, it had visible indentations. When I contacted the company, I was told: "This will come out in a few days once air gets to it. It will contract on its own." I was advised to leave it out and that they would follow up. The indentations did not come out and never would. Once a canvas is indented, the damage is permanent. I sent photos of the boxes as requested; there was no damage to them. I never received a reply. At that point, I gave up, and that was my last order as I could not sell that canvas as I was supposed to. This made me look unprofessional all because they were not. I know this is a packaging issue on their end. I did this work professionally for years at a canvas production facility in the U.S., and I recognize the process, I mentioned this and they said there was nothing wrong with their way. This experience genuinely saddens me. I would much prefer to support Canadian-made products for my Canadian clients, especially right now. Turns out they are in their soft opening currently where they opened about a week or two ago. Despite the coffee shop in the front of the store, they also have a photo lab at the back of the space. I saw lots of film being sold as well as overheard that they have processing services as well. I primarily came to try their coffee so I can't comment much on the photo lab services. Coffee wise the menu is basic and simple. A bit on the pricer side compared to other coffee shops in the city. They use Hatch coffee beans. I ordered a flat white to consume there. The staff were friendly and attentive and my drink was made at a reasonable time. The flat white was great. As I sipped on my drink, I admired the photography on display. They also have photography books to browse through as well! Overall, great new addition to the Chinatown area. Love the coffee and photo lab concept. Definitely would return to spend time in the space for a coffee!
