I switched to Blair Ridge after being with our last office for literally my whole life, so I was pretty nervous about what to expect but I was quickly put at ease. I can't say enough about Dr. Jin. She's one of the most caring, genuine people you could meet. She really takes her time to listen and I could immediately tell she really cares for her patients. While I will probably never look forward to dental appointments, Dr. Jin is so wonderful I no longer dread them. She and her team have completely changed the way I feel about dentistry. I only have positive things to say about Dr. Wilken and her staff. They are absolutely amazing. Everyone is so friendly, professional, knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable. The 1st time I had dental work done, Dr. Wilken called me that evening to make sure everything was OK. I was so impressed that she takes the time to make sure her patients are doing good. I wondered why it took me so long to find her. Recently I had some major dental work done which to me was a very big deal. Dr. Wilken is very attentive and has listened to my concerns. She has assured me that we would take care of everything. I cannot imagine working with any other dentist and I know I am in the best hands possible. Love this dentist's office! I have a fear of the dentist and had not been to see a dentist in almost 15 yrs but since I started going to this office my fear has lessened. Staff are friendly and helpful! They in no way make you feel guilty for not having a dental checkup in awhile even as long as I waited they never made me feel negative about it. They want you to feel positive so you don't put off a visit. Very professional staff all around. My favorite is Dr. Stanley! We've been with Dr. Joel since his office was on Edgewood next to Taco Johns. He has a great bedside manner and the office has all the latest technology in dentistry. My hygienist, Jill, is so nice and never tears up your mouth when cleaning (which I particularly appreciate!). They are very thorough but I don't ever get the feeling they're trying to up-sell you - the reason I left my last dentist. There's nothing worse than going to the dentist and feeling like you're at Firestone being told you need to change your headlight fluid and get a new harmonic tension filter. All the other docs I've met here are great too. read more

While the customer service and friendliness of staff and dentists at Blair Ridge is exceptional, they refuse to do silver fillings - proven to be just as safe and last MUCH longer than the composite fillings they insist on using. Most of the fillings we got at Blair Ridge have cracked and needed to be replaced within 5 years. read more

I had previously taken my daughter for her initial appointment at Blair ridge, but I had my first time in the chair today. I have one word to cover my appointment - thorough - with a a positive attitude, okay that's more than one word. It was an initial appointment and they had said it would take 2 hours to encompass all of the extra work they do for a new patient. I was doubtful that it would take 2 hours, but they took the whole 2 hours. The appointment started with detailed X-Rays, photos of my teeth and mouth, and documenting the status of my teeth and gums. When this was done the dentist came in and went through all of the data. Typically when a dentist talks to you about a spot on a tooth typically you see it on a small X-ray and you picture it in your mind. But at Blair Ridge they had taken pictures and they had a LCD screen that they could pull over to the chair and show both the X-ray and pictures so you have all of the data. We could then talk about each area, issue, and suggestions to improve my dental health. The picture sounds like a little thing, but it is totally understandable when they talk to you about wear on your teeth when they show you a pictures that details the wear grooves in the tooth, the surfaces of the teeth in the back of your mouth, or show you how each of the fillings look that you have had that may be 20, 30, or 40 years old. We also talked about fillings and if they would of done the plastic or silver and they said the plastic. I asked why since the silver fillings in my mouth have lasted a long time. They said that silver lasts a long time, but if you bite on a nut or other item and have a silver filling it is more likely to damage the tooth than the filling. But with the plastic fillings, the filling will take the damage and not the tooth. Great details and perspective that had never been shared with me before. It was the first time that I have ever been to a dentist where they had all of the information and I could see it real time. . They were able to zoom in on pictures and X-rays easily in ways that made it easy to see any issue in great detail. The hygienist, Carly, was great and totally focused on me as a patient. The team of Dr Joel and Carly worked as a great team and seemed to be reading each others minds on what was best form me. They told me that the data had been uploaded after the photos and X-rays were taken so that Dr Joel could look at them ahead of time and not waste my time getting up to speed when he came into the room. After we talked about every thing we needed to do Carly did clean my teeth and asked if I had any preferences on cleaning such as a water pic or other different cleaning options. I can't say enough positive things about Dr Joel and his team. I have never had such a complete approach when I have been to the dentist before and would highly recommend him to anyone, they have the COMPLETE approach!!!! read more
