One of the biggest decisions to make for your wedding is choosing the music, and one of the BEST decisions we could have ever made was working with Christian and his team at Blanc Noir Event Group. The moment my husband and I met Christian we felt welcomed and immediately connected. As a gay couple, you never know how you'll be received from vendors and Christian was incredibly friendly and accepting. We knew we were in good hands and that Blanc Noir would be the perfect DJ, and WOW, Christian went above and beyond for us. Not only did Christian make sure to play every song we wanted to hear, but he also made sure to not play all the songs we didn't want to hear, which in my opinion is just as important. Christian and his amazing team covered everything from sound during the ceremony, to music during the cocktail hour, and was also the perfect emcee for the evening. He did an amazing job of keeping the flow going, and the dance floor full! He even found us a quartet for our ceremony and referred us to the best wedding coordinator. Unfortunately due to COVID our wedding (originally 4/4/20) has been postponed twice. Christian was so empathetic and understanding both times. There was no hesitation in accommodating the changes and he had great advice along the way for us about what we should be thinking about (i.e. timing of the wedding since we went from an original Saturday date to a Friday, and reassuring us that our decision was best and that our day will still be so special). BRIDES BEWARE! I hired Blanc Noir for my wedding on 10/5/14. I would Not recommend them for any event, especially one of the most special days, a wedding. I was shocked with the way I was treated. Solely by Fernando. We met weeks prior to my wedding to discuss final details. I asked Fernando directly how many people will be in their crew. I needed to give a head count to our venue. He told me 3 and there will be a videographer there videoing our event, so their dj's could make a promo video. I was a bit taken back, because I was NEVER asked if this was OK with me. (He stated it was in our contract-photo to follow) I asked if they are willing to share the footage with us at no cost to us. This was his response: "He will not be able to give you the footage at no cost, we are paying him extra for his time to shoot and edit a demo. If we deem that the footage is suitable for the client then we can offer you the footage at a market-rate cost." Then he also changes the vendor count from 3 to 4. So let me get this straight? I'am paying for your videographer, to shoot your company at MY event and you will not even share the footage as a courtesy? This was my response to him: "If that is the case that they can not share the footage with me I prefer not to have any video at our event. I hope you can understand that this is our event that we are putting on. The demo for Randy has nothing to do with my event. I was open to the idea if they were willing to share the videos, if not, respectfully I will not have someone videoing our event." This is all happening 3 WEEKS before my wedding. A DJ that I paid close to $3000 to, making the stress insurmountable. It was a terrible experience that I wouldn't wish upon any bride. He responded with this: "It will be 4. "Under the contract terms that you signed we reserve the right to film our performances for marketing and advertising purposes. We will only be filming the intros and announcements and will forward you the edited video as a courtesy." It was too little too late. I did not want any footage taken. My now husband saw how upset I was and he handled communication moving forward. There was someone with Blanc Noir at our wedding shooting photos and/or video, I don't know what he was doing because they NEVER even told me or introduced to him to us. He got in the way of OUR photographer. He is now in OUR wedding photos, ruining perfect shots. (Photos will be posted along with this review shortly) We had our venue ask him to politely leave because he interfered w/the photographer we hired. They stated it was in the "contract" and that he could stay. To this day Blanc Noir has not ONCE contacted me to share the video/photos that were taken or to APOLOGIZE. You ruined some of my priceless photos and never ONCE offered to send me the images/footage!? My husband sent an email to Blanc Noir that if they wanted to use any of the images they must get our consent first. Since they were coming wether we wanted them there or not. Shame on you Blanc Noir, as a company you should be embarrassed by actions and lack of professionalism and ethics. I will give credit where credit is due. A medical emergency occurred during the event. They were helpful in calming the crowd/getting the party going again. Our MC Randy was great and did his best to make sure the party was great. It's is unfortunate the events leading up to our big day were filled with stress/unease because of Fernando. Yes, the party was good and we did have a great time, but all of the aggravation/deceitfulness ruined our experience with Blanc Noir. We paid for a custom monogram emblem to be placed on the dance floor, it was not there. We sent an email asking for a refund. He said he forgot and was sorry and that it was thrown in and they can't give a refund. We paid for it, they didn't deliver. They do not stand by their contract. We paid them for lighting/up lighting. My husband emailed him to tell him our color choices, he responded back that we can only use one color. Which is not what they told me in our meetings prior to the wedding. We had enough of back-and-forth w/him and we had our venue take care of the up lighting. Another financial loss on our part due to their ineptness. We gave a list of songs to be played at our cocktail hour. Surprise surprise, the songs were not playing. We notified them that our playlist was not on, and they did eventually switch it over. Completely unorganized. My husband requested that the songs be played in a certain order, Fernando informed him that there would be an extra charge for that. Really? He said with the package we chose it could only be played on shuffle. Customers beware, paying close to $3000 gets you shuffle! I could've loaded my iPod myself and had it done properly. When hiring vendors you place your trust in them that they will be professional, go above and beyond to make your event memorable and put the customers needs first. They do not. read more

The groom and I tied the knot last week at the Jersey City Hyatt Regency, and wow wow WOW were we and our guests impressed with Fernando & his Blanc Noir team!!! When we first met with Fernando, my, now husband, and I did not even know what uplights were. In our first meeting, he taught us all about uplights, intelligent lights, luxe photo booth options, and even explained "big day" logistics to us (e.g., we were getting married on site, they could provide the mics for the ceremony, and would arrive about 2 hours early to setup, etc.). Before signing with Blanc Noir, I must have emailed Fernando about 50 times, or more, with questions as I thought of them, and his responses were always prompt and thorough. Extremely helpful!! Fast forward a few months, we went into our wedding knowing BNEG had their sh*t together (between first and final meetings, and numerous emails, we could tell Fernando/BNEG were seasoned professionals, so we had no BNEG related concerns going into the big day). What we did not know UNTIL the big day was the extent to which BNEG would completely exceed all our expectations. It was the party of a lifetime for us, and many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended, and many guests specifically complimented the music/DJing. We only made 12 or so specific reception song requests ahead of the time, and we filled out the rest of the form where we identified, in general, what types of music we did and did not want played. All the music was played at the right time, and spot on, and the dance floor was packed most of the night, aside from when folks were eating. We had such an absolute blast!!! If you are looking for worry free, exceptional, high end party services, at competitive prices, definitely meet with Fernando and you can see for yourself everything BNEG can bring to your big day. At our gala on Saturday, Christian and his team were able to work like beasts to make sure that everything was set up and half of the time they had originally expected to be given by the venue. They handled the unexpected delays with absolute professionalism and were calm throughout the entire process. At show time, they looked presidential in their tuxedos. You would have never know the team were sweating like they just ran a marathon just a short while before! Christian just knew what to do and it was absolutely incredible. I've been part of enough bridal parties (don't ask) to know what I really enjoyed out of each wedding. In the last bridal party, I really loved the music, sounds, and lighting provided by Blanc Noir Event Group. They did an absolutely amazing job with my friend's wedding! I've been in waaaay too many bridal parties and other weddings as a guest, where I can honestly say they were probably the best DJs I've heard at a wedding! BNEG was extremely professional, attentive, and catered to the bride and groom's needs and requests. They were very knowledgeable and worked with the bride and groom to customize the look and sound of their big day. Not to mention, the party went on the whole night because of them! I don't think I've ever danced as much as I did at that wedding. They played everything you can think of. They made our lives so easy on a chaotic day, and every moment, traditional (wedding party intro, toasts, cutting the cake) and non-traditional (family member randomly deciding to sing a song for us), seemed to happen organically. Value: Unmatched. BNEG also added the additional perk of taking some candid high-quality photos for us. We had a photographer, but it was great to just see some additional (and unexpected) photos - AND quickly uploaded to Facebook to share with friends and family. As a bridesmaid for my best friend's wedding, they truly made everyone feel like royalty. Everything was organized, customized to the bride and groom's requests, and so much fun! My BFFL worked specifically with Fernando, who is very knowledgeable and personable. He worked with them to customize the look and sound of their big day. Blanc Noir's Jimmy Connolly did a fantastic job at our wedding on Nov. 30, at the Lake Mohawk Country Club (great place for events, by the way). All through the event our guests were asking "this Dj is awesome, where did you find him?" The crowd was dancing pretty much all night, even between dinner courses. I must admit that I am very picky about music, so I gave Jimmy a song list, but I asked him to feel free to pull songs of his own, at his discretion. He read the crowd perfectly and even used his Serato to mix some of my picks into his. He also did a great job as emcee. Blanc Noir also uses great gear (RCF speakers and subs, Rane mixers and Shure mics - I used to produced live music events, and I know that good gear really does make a difference). At the end of any event it is the quality of the party that counts, not whether or not the steak was cooked to perfection. Fernando and its assistants were awesome on our wedding day. The wireless uplighting was gorgeous and constantly changed color in time with the music. The music was great and kept people on the dance floor. And a short time after the wedding, Fernando surprised us with a CD of pictures that his assistant took during the reception! I hired Blanc Noir about a month before my daughter's sweet 16. Christian is great to deal with, and even though we booked just a month before the party, everything was stress free. Deanna handled all the behind the scenes communication, professionally and promptly, (as well as the camera for some candid shots of the party that were put up throughout on the screens). No question or request was ignored; emails and texts leading up to the party were responded to almost immediately. From the introductions to the last song, Christian, Deanna, Kevin and the rest of the entertainment crew kept the party rocking. It seemed like the kids never left the dance floor. I apologize for leaving some of the crew out, but I could not have been any happier with the entertainment on this special night. On July 4th, we had the Best. Day. Ever! Music is so powerful and we wanted that to be one of the most important parts of our wedding day. We knew, for sure, we were going to be very picky when choosing a DJ for our wedding. The one thing we both agreed on was to look away from all of those "hokey", predictable wedding DJ's. When we reached out to Blanc Noir, we were contacted by Jimmy. My husband primarily communicated with him and always got a great vibe after speaking with him. Jimmy was (and still is!!) always super prompt with returning a phone call, text, or email and is a genuinely personable guy. Our first meeting with Jimmy surpassed our expectations. We met at Blanc Noir's central office which had a super cool and inviting feel to it. You can tell just by looking around the office space that Blanc Noir Event Group prides themselves on current music trends and technology. We shared our story with Jimmy and got to know each other on a more personal level. My husband and I shared our music likes and dislikes and allowed Jimmy to get a feel for what we were looking for on our wedding day. We spent about 2 hours with him that night and walked away knowing that we had just spent valuable time with OUR wedding DJ. Over the next few months following the meeting, we kept lists of songs that we would want to hear during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. All of which were sent to Jimmy as per his request. I was so afraid of being a micromanager throughout this process. While planning my wedding and reading tons of wedding advice, I came across plenty of articles reminding brides to let the DJ do the work as it is their profession, blah, blah, blah. At our final meeting (a skype meeting) with Jimmy prior to the wedding, I apologized to him for fine tuning and tweeking so many aspects of our wedding entertainment. Jimmy replied by telling me that it is "our wedding and should be the way we wanted it". Such a great, honest response! On our wedding day, Jimmy and his team executed everything perfectly. We heard every song we had hoped. With his seamless song mixes and transitions, no one wanted to leave the dance floor. He is a true master at his craft. And how about those old folks with the loud music?? Not a single complaint. My wife and I had such an awesome time at our wedding and Blanc Nior made the night that much better. The music was on point; he had the crowd moving and entertained. I recently went to a wedding done by Blanc Noir. I must say they are a few steps above any other entertainment company. The attention to detail is just amazing! From the lights and effects to how they interacted with the crowd. The music selection was great and really kept the crowd on the dance floor all night! Everyone at the wedding had a great time and we were sad that it had to come to an end. You can really tell that entertainment is their passion and they will make sure they do everything to provide a great experience overall. I feel like a blanc noir event group groupie at this point because I seriously can't say enough good things about these guys! We hired Fernando and his team for my parent's 25th anniversary party and they did an amazing job. He was always reachable, always updating me and seeing if I had questions or concerns and completely put me at ease that the day would be seamless. IT WAS! We had some last minute changes that he was more then happy to accommodate and it was just the perfect event. He played to the crowd and played awesome music, the sound quality was great! Since he did such an amazing job at the anniversary it was a no brainer that he would be our DJ for our engagement party last year. Again i was not worried because after having worked with him already I knew it would be nothing short of perfect. And I was right. All the introductions we perfect, his timing always impeccable and his set up was impressive. He played exactly what we wanted and our party was up and dancing the entire night. I recommend these guys to EVERYONE because I seriously can't remember having DJ's that are this much fun. As soon as I met Fernando I knew I would be booking Blanc Noir for my wedding. He is down to earth and easy to work with. I was very specific with what kind of music I wanted played and the overall vibe I was going for. He nailed it!!! The music is what sets the tone and he was nothing short of amazing. He made sure to play every song that we requested which was awesome. His DJ booth is sleek and he was dressed impeccable. The dance floor was packed ALL night. My guests didn't even want to sit for dinner because they were having so much fun. Fernando played our entrance song (Kanye West- Welcome to the Good life) as the last song which was the perfect way to end our wedding. I cannot say enough about how happy I was with Blanc Noir. Only 5 stars? I need at least 20 for Fernando. I don't know how to thank Fernando enough for all the work and support he's given us since we first sat down with him. He is the best at what he does and I need to host another big event just so I can hire him and BNEG all over again. Fernando is sincere, honest and a downright fun and personal guy. From the moment we met him, we knew he would be the one. In the middle of the meeting, Fernando had walked over to his printer and I nodded my head at my now husband. We discussed more thoroughly in the car when I basically said, "Lets do it!" and he said "Ok!" Really didn't take much convincing. We met with several DJ companies and Fernando was the only one that didn't try to push a sale or make us feel pressured into booking NOW NOW NOW! He listened to what we liked, what we didn't like and was so quick with returning our inquiries. Nothing was ever an issue and nothing was out of the question. At the wedding, the dance floor was CONSTANTLY packed. We even had relatives who are "always so serious" dancing! I was floored! Fernando and BNEG is invaluable. The booking process with Fernando was amazing! He didn't try to force us to do/use things we may not have needed. Always polite and fast to answer. Very accommodating with music requests (we sent him a lot of Turkish songs to find). Everyone loved the music and how they ran the show, which of course had to do with Fernando :) We also used his photo booth which was great! loved everyone's pictures. We initially chose BNEG because I'm Cuban and my husband is Italian so we needed someone who understood the latin and American music mix we were looking for. Christian, Fernando and the rest of the team at Blanc Noir are such professionals and by-far exceeded our expectations! The vibe during the reception was incredible. Everyone was on the dance floor, the mix of music was great, the photobooth was AWESOME, the percussionist was outstanding. I don't think I have enough adjectives to describe how spectacular they were. They went above and beyond their call of duty, thinking of things we didn't. They were extremely attentive to detail and made the day a complete breeze for us. We're so thankful we chose them as our entertainment and I'd recommend them to anyone! Not to mention, they dressed super snazzy for the occasion! We wish we could relive the day because we were so happy with the way it went, especially with the help of BNEG!
