I wish I could give Excel a 10 star rating, they are awesome!!! Excel Entertainment is beyond an amazing and professional experience. The live band/DJ hybrid allowed for non-stop music that kept the dance floor packed all night. Not only did they help elevate our wedding to the next level with their ability to read the crowd and unbelievable talent, but working with them was an absolute pleasure and as easy as could be. Jason was always available if we needed to have a call to discuss something about the wedding and their online tool for making our playlists (and "do-not playlist") was so convenient and easy to use. Our guests could not stop commenting on how great our band and DJ were. The whole performance was spectacular. We highly recommend Excel Entertainment to anyone who wants to have an amazing wedding and have their guests rave about the music well after the wedding has past! We have worked with Excel Entertainment at quite a few events before Nicole and Jaime on 01/26/2013. Not only did they provide the service that we had come to expect from them, but the client couldn't have been more satisfied. They coordinated with all the other vendors with extreme professionalism . They seamlessly integrated everything together during the reception, keeping everyone on time during the event. One of the toughest things in my mind is to keep a new bride and groom from being utterly overwhelming by everything If Jason had not been there to organize and facilitate the flow of the reception I don't know what would have happened. Sound quality was superb. He is one of the only DJ's we have seen who actually had a sound technician monitoring the sound making adjustment the entire evening. Jason and the rest of the crew were easily the best money that we spent on our wedding. Not only do they sound good, which they do, but Jason went above and beyond to help capture a fantastic night for us. We went with 2 Live Instruments and DJ combo, worked out to be a great mix because you get the singers that you know and love but live instruments that you can really feel. IMO nothing fills a space like live drums. Jason was also on the ball as an MC, when there was a small ball drop in timing with the maitred, Jason realized something was up figured out what we were doing and still got the right song playing in time all without being told. Can't recommend them enough. Theyre also really flexible on what the packages actually mean. I think the standard package comes with Reception and cocktail hour, but if you want them to do ceremony and reception instead of the coctail hour they had no problem with that. If you are looking for the perfect combo of an upbeat band and awesome hits from the DJ, Excel Entertainment is the way to go! Everyone knows a good band is crucial to the success of a wedding. I could not say kind enough words that would do Excel Entertainment justice. From the beginning of the wedding where we had more of the classics like Frank Sinatra to the last dance where everyone was getting down on the dance floor (literally - I admit my husband did request "Shout"), the band was outstanding!! They kept a great energy and are extremely talented. I was especially delighted that even in between sets and during meals when most bands take a break, one of the singers continued to perform beautiful background music for us. It was an absolute pleasure working with Jason from Excel Entertainment. From day one, Jason took the time to get to know my fiancé and I, and our tastes and preferences. He asked questions to clarify to make sure our day would be exactly as we intended. He even went as far as to send us song tracks anytime he thought we may like one. Excel Entertainment is the absolute best dj/band hybrid out there! We were looking primarily for a band, but when we found out that they offered a mix of live band with a dj, we were sold! We actually listened to about 8 other bands from NJ/NY in every price range and not one of them could close to the talent of Excel. We saw them perform live at a bridal show and their energy was off the charts, so it was a no brainer going with them. Jason and his team played everything from 90s pop to house music, keeping the energy at an all time high. They even learned songs that we wanted them to learn, and they killed it!
