Picked up the truck after he had given me a quote of $750.00, I thought it was quite high, however, I needed the truck for a job that I was to complete. Their shop called and said their equipment could not handle my truck as it required more high tech equipment so, they returned my truck After replacing the fluid and a newer brake master cylinder. At this point the SUV is not drivable! The tow truck driver required payment in full before they would release the truck! I had to hire a separate towing company at $167 to tow it to the dealer. The dealer charged $150 to hook to their equipment and do the adjustments to the brake system. The amazing part of this story is my Truck is a 2005 SUV and this garage said before they received the truck that their mechanic was a former Nissan dealer mechanic! read more

I took my car here to get the brakes worked on. Everyone was friendly, and very helpful. They took me back and showed me exactly what was wrong, and helped me to learn how to notice the signs and prevent it from happening again. They also noticed that one of my tires was fairly bald on the inside, so they rotated it until I can afford to replace it. I will come back again next month for the front brakes. I felt good about my experience here and would recommend it. The waiting room was comfortable, and they had some chairs outside also. read more

Worked on my 79 Cadillac, I spent a few thousand , the main reason I brought the vehicle in was held off til last and never fixed. He towed the cat to another mechanic who also failed to fix the car . So after I paid thousands of dollars to have my car fixed it still sits broken down in my yard, he got the easy money . If he would have started with my main concern before doing all the rest of the work and just was honest saying he couldn't do the repair I wouldn't have spent the other money, I think he planned it to work out that way . Since then he's been rude to customers who reported that to me and other customers told me of their bad experience . Take my word , use another mechanic shop. read more

My kids drove down to FL yesterday to visit family for the weekend. My husband and I gave them our truck to drive because it's a safer vehicle than theirs and we just had new tires put on. The truck started shaking badly when they got up to about 70mph. Firestone put the tires on for us so my son called them and they told him to find a Firestone close to where he was at the time. He did, but they were unwilling to help because he didn't have an appointment. They would not even look at it until Saturday, so he found Blatchley Brake & Tire and they took care of him right away. The wheels weren't even balanced. My son called me and was so excited that they took excellent care of him in record time. The price was more than fair and they were back on the road shortly. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, courteous and knowledgable. You can't do better than that. read more

This review is long overdue! I was leaving Hilton Head for an 11 hour drive back to Ohio with my wife, 4 year old son, and 1 year old triplets. We needed a tire replaced due to an error by another tire shop on Hilton Head who was not open on Saturdays. We were searching for several places along our drive out of Hilton Head and one place after another had wait times for hours or couldn't help us at all. We found Blatchley and called ahead and they said they had what we needed and could help us right when we got there. They said they would get what we needed ready before we even arrived so that we could get in and out ASAP to continue our long drive. We pulled up in our van they confirmed what we needed and they jacked the van up right in front of the store without my wife and kids even needing to get out of the car. I had my radiator hose burst on me while in town. I stopped at advance and since it was a molded peice & a simple clamp wouldn't fix he referred me to this shop right up the road. The guy that assisted me was nice, professional & quick with letting me know what was what. He told me to hold on let him get some info to take to the owner to see if he can get the part. Part was found and I was given an estimate of 249.00. I was like whoa so I told him to give me a min, I search the part & found it at O'Reilly for 70 bucks. I asked him if I get the parts how much would the labor be to put it on he said nothing because I wouldn't put it on because via parts is how I make my money. I said ok you make your money by robbing customers. Auto repair shops get a discount on parts so to make a profit u don't charge me 50% more but 100% ok want be back here. Later that evening I did get a call from the guy (the owner) apologizing for the issue and offered to do anything to correct it. I declined and decided to do it myself (youtube is awesome) cost me less than 100.00. Thank you sir for the challenge. read more

We were driving from Florence, SC to our home in Tampa, FL the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We hit a pot hole an hour into our drive and called Blatchley to see if we could get a new tire (to not have to drive 6 more hours on a spare). Someone was there fixing his dads truck and so graciously agreed to fix the tire during his spare time on a day that they weren't even open. Honest price and great people. I was heading into South Carolina from Florida for my little sis's high school graduation. My tire shredded on I-95. We were not prepared AT ALL for it, totally our fault. We did not have a jack or spare. And later, we found out that even if we did, we still would have been stranded because our tires still had the dealership's locks on them from when we purchased the vehicle (which was years ago)! We're probably the only 2 people on Earth who don't have data for our phones so we sat there calling family and our insurance company for 2 hours trying to find a local place. Problem was, we didn't know exactly where we were on I-95. The insurance co. gave us repair shops that were too far away. We finally got the number for Blatchley, we called and not only could they change our tire, they also could come get us since they have their own tow truck! They got to us so fast, like 20 mins! Got our tire changed quickly! They were even able to get the dealership lock off the tire. The owner, Keefe, was the one helping us. He even took us to the back to let us choose our own used tire. The tow and repair cost us $145. The only draw back was the "lobby". It's only cooled by a fan and it's rather run down and dirty. I feel bad saying it but I have to be honest. Despite this, I am grateful to them for being so quick and nice! read more
