The afternoon tea option is crazy cool - two unique yoghurt combos, two rolls, two desserts, and an unlimited cup of tea with their eight self-bag options. The tea options range from basic (Chinese Jasmine, Earl Grey) to quite unique (champagne tea, mon cheri). The option to self-bag at the table is quite fun - you can blend or try as many as you can get out of a big pot of hot water. Despite being a little bit chilly inside in winter, the restaurant is relaxed and a very nice ambiance. With comfy chairs around the back side, you might just take a nap after a nice treat. I should not fail to mention the staff who are exceptionally patient and kind, especially with newcomers to the concept. Anyways, I was in Haarlem last week and passed it by chance and made sure to make a mental note this time. So here you have it. The ice cream to beat all ice creams. I was going to order some delicious flavor which has long since been forgotten (the guy working there let us sample, yay) and then he said, "why don't you try this one Kelsey, it's really good, I think you'll like it." We arrived early. But the staff totally ignored us at our table. The server even walked past us three times. And twice we requested assistance and was totally ignored. After 15 minutes we left as we had a shoet time. When I complained to the person working on the coffee bar. She had the attitude as she could care less about any issues. Emailed and got a standard reply sorry we were swamped with the film festival. But that does not explain the deliberate brush off and being ignored for other mostly female patrons. Or a family ordering coffee only. Just totally changed my opinion.
