I usually walk in without an appointment--which isn't really how they prefer to operate--but they've always managed to take good care of me. From Jesse to Jose, the crew is friendly, laid-back, and genuinely skilled. They don't rush you through the chair either. Expect about 30 minutes of attention to detail: trim, haircut, hot foam, and a clean razor finish. You get the full MD Barber experience, and it shows. The atmosphere is just as entertaining as the haircut. The barbers are constantly joking with each other, the conversation is lively, and yes, the language can get a little colorful. During my last visit, Austin Powers was playing in the background, so every now and then you could almost hear, "Yeah, baby!" fitting perfectly with the vibe. If you're looking for a polished, silent spa experience, this probably isn't your place. But if you want a quality haircut, plenty of laughs, and a classic neighborhood barbershop with personality, MD Barber is a great choice.

Taking a look at a few other reviews and for me personally I think many of them didn't take the time to do some follow-up research because not once in my 10+ visits the past 1.5 years (I travel a bit back home as you can tell) have I had a bad experience or anything that caught me off guard. I'm certain if most of these folks took the time to find out ahead of time they would be a lot more understanding. MDB is a PROPER BARBERSHOP. Don't expect some hispter vibe or some place that is trying to be more than what it is. This is not a family friendly environment; although, you can bring your little one(s) to get haircuts up to a certain age. The youngest I've seen is about 8 years old TBH. ONCE AGAIN You're gonna hear some raunchy banter, you're gonna crack a few jokes and have some off-the-wall conversations. The barbers are gonna chat with each other and with fellow customers. But you know what you are gonna get? A DAMN GREAT HAIRCUT WITH BAD ASS CUSTOMER SERVICE. The family at MDB take a lot of pride in their work and they're meticulous AF in their craft. This isn't a commercial salon where everyone is in-n-out of their chair within 20-30 minutes. If that's more your speed GO ELSEWHERE. Honestly it boggles me when folks want that type of haircut to begin with. Your hair is like a billboard to the face I always preach. I recommend you prepare for a 45 minutes haircut and if you didn't make an appointment ahead of time, expect longer. This place is primarily an appointment operated business. There's a reason for that. You're gonna walk out with one of the best cuts you've had. They do accept walk-ins when they have space but just be aware you may be waiting a bit as a walk-in. I once had a last minute event and my wait was about 45 minutes so not too bad. I've been going back to Mizael for a few times every time I'm in town and prioritize grabbing a cut from him when visiting. The way he cuts hair is great, but it's his fading on the sides that's made me a loyal patron. Some of the best work IMO. Many of the barbers here extend their contact information where you can simply text them. They also offer shampoo/wash for a small fee which I grab every time.
