Called to make an appointment with Orlando. He told me to be there at 4:30. When I arrive 5 minutes early, he has just started on someone. After waiting 35 minutes I left. As I was leaving, I told him it was not good way to run your business. He started saying he was just running late. This is a cool barber shop that offers discount to military $2 off). Opened since 1962 Lorenzo is a fixture in the El Paso market place. Will be coming back for sure. Very Okay haircuts. This place is a staple for an okay experience. Don't expect the best fade, their staff rotates fairly frequently and it's primarily older ladies that cut hair. Not a dig but they're not gonna do any designs or give you the sharpest fade out there. It's a no frills ten or fifteen minute haircut for an okay price. Their huge competitive advantage is that they're open Sundays and are okay with walk ins. If you put off your haircut and have work Monday morning this is one of the few spots in town to get a haircut at on a Sunday. They said yes, and that I could get 2 free beers! There's a small single tap of Michelob Light which drips stupid slowly. I filled my cup about 1/4 of the way then sat down for my haircut. While getting my cut I asked about the place and it's been open since 1962! One of EP's oldest barber shops. While sitting there, the owner's father filled a cup up and then poured it into my cup to give me a full cup! I thanked him and said it was perfecto! Went in for a MID - FADE , she completely shaved one side and left the other side patchy . The first time she said we were done I went to check in the mirror and the fade was so patchy and not a fade at all. So I went back to the chair twice to have it fixed and she did even worse , ended up shaving a whole side of my head and leaving the other side patchy . I was looking for a barbershop close to my brother-in-laws house here in El Paso and was disappointed to know that the nearest one on yelp had only one review and two stars. I took the risk since I simply buzz my head, a two minute procedure. Following the yelp address, I came upon Coronado Barbershop. This is El Paso meaning that for a California guy, its hot. Therefore the blast of AC that hit me as I opened the door was welcoming. There was only one other customer seated when I walked in so I was immediately received. As I sat down, I noticed Marine Corps posters on the wall, another welcoming note in this Army town. Anyway another story for another day....... Once I was seated, the young woman proceeded to cut my hair. As previously mentioned, it was about a two minute ordeal. I was already content at this point and ready to leave but out of no where she brought out an pressurized air hose and blasted all the left over hair on to the ground. Wow. I thought I was falling through the sky. I was at about 4 stars at this point when she started to place the lather on the edges of my hairline and proceeded to clean it up with a straight razor. 5 star treatment. The place was clean, fresh, the workers were friendly and I left feeling so fresh and so clean............... The buzz cut cost 10 bucks. read more

The prices are inconsistent. My first visit I paid $16 for a head shave & beard trim. The second visit I was charged $29 by a different Barber for the same service. I was told the prices went up $4 (from $16 to $20) for the head shave, and then an additional $9 for my beard. I found the pricing really didn't make up for, or offset the labour involved, especially for the minimal beard trim. Be sure to have the tip set aside in cash before you pay, I'd probably the best advice I can give. read more

Stopped in for the 3rd time to get a standard crew cut. Julia was available as I came in, and I think I understand why now. I had meetings all morning, so I came in with a modest amount of styling product in my hair. Because I had noticed (on my previous visit) that the service list included a shampoo option, I told her that I wanted a wash and cut. I figure it would be easier than fighting with the putty I had used that morning. She laughed and said, "We don't do shampooing." I asked her if I should come back another time with clean hair and she insisted I was fine. Unfortunately, she was far more interested in gossiping about other customers (including some pretty disparaging comments about a wealthy client from Mexico who had apparently upset her by criticizing Donald Trump), discussing politics and talking to other customers who were waiting than in giving a decent cut. The lines are uneven and the tapering (if you can call it that) is a mess. While she did a fairly decent job on the nape of my neck, brows and sideburns, she completely ignored other areas and I was pissed to get home and see how much had NOT been done. I'm doing my damnedest to force things into some kind of shape until it grows out enough for a qualified barber to fix it. I even overtipped because I didn't want to be "that guy" who didn't behave with civility even when the service is poor. Not planning on going back there. Some of these people do not look like licensed barbers i went in for a cut today asking for MID-FADE and she looked a little confused so i had to explain it to her and she said she got it. I leave the top of my hair long due to my curls and most of all the times i've gotten a haircut they put the top in a bun or some and she didn't do anything barely even wet it. Then i started feeling some things she's doing wrong but i couldn't get a view on it. The sides were cut but not lined up at all, the top was way shorter than what i asked. Then she decides she's finished, i asked her are you going to line me up, then i told her if she could fix one thing one the side and she handed me a mirror to look at the back of my head and kid you not she did a 2 all around literally my whole head was trimmed up same length except for the top, and i was like this is not a mid fade. She then acted all dumb saying she was confused and thought i said a taper tell me where do you understand taper from mid fade. I don't go here my husband does but I usually go with him other times he'll tell me about how it went. This place is just not properly run at least not by professionals. As a server I wouldn't pull out my phone if I received a phone call in the middle of taking your order and there's a stylist (Zuly) here who does just that. She'll be cutting his hair and if she receives a call she'll answer it and talk on her phone and stops cutting his hair until her call is over. There's been times where he'll tell me they took so long not because there was a wait but because she's just on her phone. Walked in, asked for a low fade, and got a high and tight. A poor one at that. Wasn't even level. It tapered out, went back in again to a flat spot and straight up. My head looked like a rubik's cube. Got in an argument with the dude and he blames it on me saying I didn't "tell him what I wanted." That's funny.
