I even switched for H&R Block last year to Jackson Hewitt and was supposed to get a hundred off and was told by the General manager RAY MIHTAR that I don't get it. I called three other Jackson Hewitt office's and was told that I should have gotten the hundred dollars off but they can't help me cause it's personally owned by RAY MIHTAR. Plus I was never shown the fees until after they proceed my return and printed my paperwork. Now I can't do anything about what he changed me. I tried to talk to RAY MIHTAR(the General manager) and he said he will take off a hundred dollars on my next year taxes but won't help me this year. I am so upset. I am a struggling mother with a disabled husband and son plus taking care of my mother who just had a stroke. I really needed all my money this year. Ruth is very personable, and I was there for about 1.5 hours and then my taxes were e-filed by her! Quick and easy, despite the fact that I have both my regular job income plus my business income (blog + affiliate marketing). You do have to pay while at your appointment, which I wasn't aware of, but they take cash, checks, and credit cards, so that was fine. There's also free parking behind the building, on 14 Mile. Definitely will be back next year, I paid about $425 less (!) than my previous accountant, and Ruth did a good job on my taxes. Plus I live about five minutes down the street so the location is great.

I believe deleting my tax records from their files is illegal since they must keep records for the IRS for possible auditing. I believe any reputable company would keep tax records for at least 10 years. Is something illegal happening that I am not aware of? Did this company cook their books to avoid paying taxes on my payments over the years? Those are questions that popped up in my mind.
