We went here the next day after my son's wedding reception for a lazy slowdown day. Chillaxing with…read morethe beautiful views and tasty wines. They have a fairly large variety of wines ranging from very sweet muscadines to dry oaky Merlots. Something for everyone. The added bonus is that we were allowed to bring food because they are limited in their offerings. We were able to bring the wedding cake supplied by Alpines bakery in Woodstock. Check for yourself it's. Beautiful view of the valley and a great conversational piece with the house situated across the way. We are also entertained by live music of some country and rock. Over all a good day to wine!

We ordered a flight of wine to try multiple options. The servers were kind and patient when we…read morewalked in with our family crew. Chardonnay they included was described perfectly- buttery and light. That was very tasty! The syrah and the merlot/cab blend my wife and I were not a fan of. The red blend is their best seller, which left us both a little disappointed actually. FOR PARENTS: Beyond the wine, we have read that this place is kid friendly and we would disagree. It on a hill so there isn't space for them to run around and have fun while parents can enjoy their drinks. We read that there are goats for kids to interact with but there was 1 goat and not a lot of activity. We were expecting a lot of space for our kids to explore and this was not it.

I don't normally post negative review, but I must warn parents…read more My daughter was excited for her second year at Riverview. She had a great time with activities and making friends. Then out of nowhere a veteran camper "reported" her for ridiculous claims and manipulated others to make claims and tell half truths. These claims were accepted without requiring any context to the claims. They were all taken at face value. My child was sequestered for a night until I was able to pick her up from camp. My child was treated like she had mental issues taking away her belt, not allowing her to see any other campers, etc. She was not allowed to even speak to me privately over the phone so I could get her side of the story until after I picked her up. This camp claims to have Christian values, but all I saw in the adults eyes was judgment when I picked up my child, who didn't do anything wrong. She was the victim of a witch hunt and the adults were either too biased or inexperienced in real counseling to see the truth.

My daughter went to the last session of Riverview this year (2016). It was her first year there…read more(she's 12) but she went with friends who have attended for several years. They were able to stay in the same cabin...which was a good thing. At first she was homesick, but after the first 3 days or so, she said that she made friends and was having a great time. She really liked being about to choose her activities. Ropes and gymnastics were her favs along with volleyball. She participated in the whitewater rafting excursion and it was really neat to see all the pictures that were posted on the camper/parent portal. Her only complaint was the the food (typical for a kid to complain about) wasn't that great and that there was a lot of junk food available!! She says she wants to go back again next year. Although we didn't use the service, I was really glad to see that there was a bus available. Maybe next year!
