He lived and He died and He rose again - for all of us. 2) They're going to love on you. People are genuinely welcoming, and not in a superficial way. 3) The teaching is powerful, intellectually challenging, and thoroughly Bible-centric. I was introduced to Living Word in February 1991 through my then-girlfriend. She attended services…read morethere and invited me to go with her one Sunday morning. It reminded me of a service I might see on TV (later finding out the church just begun broadcasting on a local station). Pastor Mac encouraged first-time visitors to come back again "to take a more accurate measure of us as a church." The next two times I went to Living Word, I still resisted the altar call for salvation. Coming from a traditional Lutheran background, I was a bit uncomfortable in a Full Gospel atmosphere. Then on March 19 of that year, my sister and her husband led me to the Lord at their home in Fargo, North Dakota. Two days later, I met with a pastor from their church. He recommended visiting two fellowships he knew about in the Twin Cities area. One of them was Living Word. Soon I attended membership classes there and decided to make it my home church. For the next two years, I put my audio recording skills to use by volunteering in Living Word's tape ministry. Having access to the church's cassette library helped me grow as a Christian. I listened to numerous sermon tapes at home, at work, and in my car. In addition to Pastor Mac, I heard messages from associate pastors plus guest speakers such as Dwight Thompson, Willie George, Jerry Savelle, Jesse Duplantis, and Kenneth Copeland. Their teachings built my confidence in God's promises of healing and prosperity as well as eternal life in heaven. After a temporary move to the Chicago area, I returned to the Twin Cities in early 1994. By this time, my friend Steve had become a leader in Living Word's evangelism ministry and invited me to go street witnessing with them on Monday nights. The Lord had already put it in my heart to share my faith more. At the end of 1995, the Lord led me to become an usher. After doing that for twelve months, I stepped down to focus more on evangelism. Eventually, the Lord led me to leave Living Word and become a full-time missionary. In recent years, the Lord has led me to return to the Twin Cities area for extended stays. Although I've worked with other churches in the area, I still attend services at Living Word and join them for evangelism outreaches. The church has changed since I first started going there. For example, the worship musicians were (in my opinion) a bit stuffy doing inspirational songs I mostly didn't care for. Now they have a more modern sound with added visual effects. Living Word has expanded to include a Christian school, a chemical dependency treatment facility, and various other ministries. I'm thankful for Lynne Hammond's commitment to prayer and Mac giving up his airfreight business to pastor a church that has changed many lives. Until the Lord returns, I pray Living Word Christian Center continues having a positive influence upon the state of Minnesota and beyond.

I was a little put off by everyone's EBC stickers and Facebook posts but once I attended, I understood the hype! The band is incredible and is my favorite part as it really provides some great songs to worship and sing along. I recently invited my extended family and they were all so impressed by the message and how relatable it was. They provide a message that you can really connect to. I find myself really looking forward to this weekly time of reflection and found that my Monday's are so much better when I've begun my week with the 6pm service. If you're searching for a church, Eaglebrook is truly an experience that you can't miss.

Additionally it is a church that believes everyone is welcome no matter who you are on your life's journey. The youth program is great with Sunday School broken out by age group. Wednesday nights are also a good time to get to know each other through the many programs including Adult Education, and youth programs for all ages. Dana the priest is amazing! A blended congregation, CPUC embraces the traditions of Presbyterianism and the United Church of Christ (UCC). Committed to social justice, inclusivity, environmental stewardship, radical love, care and service for Loaves and Fishes and other local programs. Music is globally sourced, using a combination of traditional hymns, world songs in various languages, and contemporary compositions. Musical involvements include choir, song leadership through weekly cantor presence, and tailor-made solo and small ensemble experiences. Piano and Celtic harp are instruments heard each Sunday, with world drums sometimes featured. Guest instrumentalists (guitar, violin, and organ) indulge our interests in a variety of music. I found this church after doing a Google search for LGBT friendly churches in the Twin Cities area. It was close and I made it just in time for service to start. I was greeted by this cute little boy who hugged everyone and welcomed them. I was also greeted by probably half the people once I got inside the church. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. They had a fellowship afterwords with great snacks and refreshments. If you're looking for a non judgmental, non discriminating church, I would recommend this place.

It also seems committed to its local neighborhood and the specific needs of its neighbors, which is very cool. Preaching and music both are quite good; this is the church where Dr. Paul Manz played pipe organ for some time, and the pipe organ is of his design. Currently the cantor/organist is Dr. David Cherwien. You will love this church if you love "high-church", "smells and bells" liturgy. There are plenty of times when everyone bows or kneels; if you're new, just follow along. A special highlight at this congregation is their Easter VIgil service-- for which they really go all-out. It's a long service and yes, there will be incense (so if you're allergic, take your meds!), but it is really incredibly well-done.
