This is a midwife place, so they pretty much try to deliver your baby at their center. However, if something goes wrong with delivery they will transfer you to the hospital to finish the delivery. And if it ends up being a transported delivery to the hospital most of your money, if not all the money due to them is close to non-refundable. If something goes wrong with delivery, wouldn't you want to be already at the hospital? I sure would. With my experience getting prenatal care here, they sent me home with some DVD'S to watch. These DVD's they sent me home with is what made me have a really bad experience with this place. These DVD's were a documentary about midwives. However, the DVD's had some false doctrine in them. One of the DVD'S said pretty much that, 'A woman should be able to birth where and whenever she wants...' which rubbed me the wrong way because if there is an emergency with delivery... you'd be wishing you were at the hospital. The DVD's also said bad things about hospitals. Which left me very confused. On a separate note, the unprofessionalism that I experienced here was terrible too. For some reason it seemed that a few of them did not like me. A few had attitudes, seemed angry, or gave bad looks. Which made me feel uncomfortable. This place might be a good idea for you, if you are in perfectly good health... But even then, I would still think twice about delivering here. They also refused to deliver my baby for a few reasons. I respect the decision. However they basically said, 'Who do you think you are?'...Type of phrase, because it was my first baby delivery. I don't recall on their website about it not being a good idea to deliver with a midwife, if its your first baby. Even if that was the case they should of said something my first appointment... instead of canceling two weeks before my baby was due. Which left me scrambling trying to figure out where I should deliver my baby. I'm not sure if I could ever step foot in there again. Last but not least... they said to text the details to them of who was going to deliver my baby. Which I did. Then when we got to the hospital, they said they couldn't find those records that they were supposed to send over, which left my delivery doctor in a scramble too. Trying to ask me all my health history questions when I was dilated at an 8. Worst experience of my life. I feel blessed I made it out of there with flying colors, but just barely. I will most likely always deliver my baby at a hospital after this charade. My experience delivering at the hospital was nothing like how those DVD's they had me watch, it was a very good experience and the people working at the hospitals had good attitudes. The only thing I did like about Arrival Birth Services was the lady who did the ultrasounds, she was very nice. I'm sure I didn't meet the whole staff, this was my experience with just a few of them. They also refused to deliver in an apartment. Which I could totally understand the 3 flight of stairs and that being dangerous. What I couldn't understand was why nothing on their website said they don't deliver in apartments. I would pray to see if this is the best option for you, and also do your own research. She is knowledgable, reassuring, and confident. My labor was an amazing and beautiful experience with her, and also Marie. I chose to use a birth suite, rather than to have a home birth. The room that I labored in was beautiful and large enough to accommodate myself and the people I had there to help. My husband and oldest child, my mom, my best friend, and my doula. The space is comfortable and pleasing to your senses. I would recommend Chris and Arrivals to anyone looking to get away from a traditional hospital experience.

When Hanan and I first met, my 2 little ones were a little wild and couldn't sit still that morning. Hanan was patient with them and took her time with me. I felt very comfortable and wanted to hire her on the spot. She was so nice, knowledgeable and caring. I knew I didn't need to interview anyone else and she was the one I wanted to help me while I was delivering. My husband and I spoke that afternoon and I immediately let her know that we chose her! Anytime I had a question and yes it could have been a silly question she always answered. She gave us a recap on a class in our home and it was nice to go over things that I forgot or may have not known from my previous 2. She made me and my husband feel comfortable and looked forward to delivering baby. I ended up getting induced. Since my husband had to be with both kids and was going back and fourth between hospital and home, Hanan came shortly after labor and delivery checked me in. She was there every step of the way. I had no idea if I was going to have a non medicated labor or have an epidural. She provided me knowledge along the way. She kept my mind off contractions. She used techniques to help my contractions feel better. She was positive and kept cheering me on. When I got to 7 cm dilated I didn't think I could do it. She encouraged me and was my cheerleader. I got to 8 Cm dilated and I was freaking out. The pain was horrible. All I wanted to do at that point was to get an epidural but I knew I couldn't. I got this far and knew I had to finish up what I always wanted to do. Hanan was right there helping me try to feel comfortable. Again using different techniques and just being positive and calm. Next thing I knew I had to push. Hanan knew it was important to me to have my husband with me while baby was being born. She went out and got him and stayed with both of my kids while I pushed baby out. I am forever grateful to her for being there for us, helping me get through a non medicated labor , being positive and calm and being my cheerleader. She was an amazing doula and gave me a birth experience will never forget. One of the best birth experiences we have experienced. I would highly recommend Hanan to anyone asking about a doula. She truly is the best and know if you chose her you are in the best of hands.

WARNING!!!! This is…read moremy personal review of the care I received from this provider. Vivian Dearden, CNM is a Critical Care Medicine Specialist in Layton, UT. Vivian Dearden currently practices at Obstetrics & Gynecology Layton and is affiliated with CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital-Davis. Vivian Dearden was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life, hands down, no contest! She has terrible communication skills, bedside manner, or empathy for her patients fears & concerns. I had two visits with her and I am currently looking for a new OBGYN because both of those appointments were awful. I saw her for post menopausal bleeding and she informed me I would need a complete pelvic ultrasound followed by a biopsy of my uterus. After she explained the biopsy I informed her of my MANY traumatic experiences with past doctors and procedures down there and requested sedation for the biopsy procedure, she refused. I requested some pain medication prior to the procedure, and she refused. I then requested a Valium and again, she refused. She prescribed two pills that she told me to break into 4ths and insert in my vagina 4 hours prior to the procedure. When I asked if I could just take them orally she said no. When I asked what the pills do her response was soften my cervix for the procedure, that's it, that was her full explanation. She performed my Pap smear, gave me the prescription and sent me on my way. I had asked her to look at a spot on my skin I was concerned with and she never did. I called and they told me she will look at it when you come for your biopsy. So I got the runaround with common spirit's automated phone system and decided to use IHC to get my ultrasound instead, they got me in right away and got it done, which was fantastic because I'm worrying about getting this biopsy done & hearing the results right away! I wait weeks to hear back about the ultrasound results and scheduling of my biopsy and hear nothing. Finally I call IHC and ask what the hold up is, Rocky Mountain Women's Health, her facility, has the wrong fax number on it, hence why they still don't have my results. I provided IHC with the correct fax number, called Vivian's office and informed them of the error. So now finally after weeks of waiting I get in for my biopsy and discover these two pills she had me insert in my vagina have caused me severe cramping, diarrhea, and more bleeding. I would have at least worn underwear with a pad had she told me ANY of this, remember she just said they'd soften my cervix for it! The biopsy was the most painful procedure I've ever had and I highly recommend to any woman needing it to get sedated first!!! ! She made senseless chitchat toward my husband about men not knowing the appropriate time for humor, instead of helping me through this horrible procedure, even after I'd fully informed her of all of my past doctor associated pain traumas!!! The pain was so bad I nearly came of the table, I cussed and was in tears the whole time. Thank God my husband was there holding my hand, he also was almost in tears just watching me bless his heart. Again she forgot to look at the spot I was concerned about too. Oh yeah I looked into those pills and they're used for abortions and incomplete miscarriages, really would have been great to know how they'd affect me. SHE IS THE WORST!!!

I just left the clinic where Chris was treating me today and I am absolutely shocked in the way he spoke to me. He is very rude, condiscending and critical to say the least. He is unprofessional and talks about other physicians with a very critical opinion when he has no reason to be doing so. He has the worst bedside manner I have seen for a professional. At the end of 30 minute appointment he made it a point to let me know that he did not have time to spend with me explaining things over 5 times in order for me to understand the specific therapy. He then walked over to me and looked me in my eyes and asked me in a very loud voice if I understood what he was saying to me. I sat there alarmed quiet and didnt say a word until he asked me again the third time if I understood him. After listening to him go on and on of severe critic I looked at him and said in a quiet voice we are done. He still continued his critic of me as he walked out of the treatment room with all the other patients in there hearing what was being said. I stood up got dressed and left the clinic. The receptionist obviously heard what was being said because she never asked me if I wanted to set appointments for future visits as I have done in the past. I could not believe what I was just exposed to and to think i am a paying customer to receive that type of abuse. Who in their right mind wants to go get this kind of physical therapy and then get abused and pay for it? I am still wondering where he got the 5 times situation. Very bizar to say the least. He did this in a very loud and sharp voice in front of all his other patients. He went on and on telling me that I was taking up all the time he had and preventing him from working with other patients. Every patient he had was in this large room with hanging fabric dividers that give very little privacy and you can hear and see everthing he is talking about to others. The irony is I paid for a 30 minute session with Chris in the clinic so he could devote that time to me to treat me not spread the time out with other patients as he ran back and forth treating all of us. Who does that? Obviously he was double booked, perhaps triple booked and was stressed out and lost control for a professional. But is Chris really a professional after all? As a professional he is held accountable to a higher standard of professionalism at least he should be. You will not find that here with him. Chris does not care about you. He cares about his schedule and himself. Do not go there if you need excellent care. You will find marginal therapy and very rude service. I am a back surgery and drop foot patient patient that had surgery by Dr. Winters aproximately 13 weeks ago. For post-op physical therapy Dr. Winters office by way of a pa recommended Chris Dahlberg to help me improve. What a mistake that was. I should of paid attention to my gut feelings on my first visit. When I met Chris with my wife we mentioned Dr. Winters and his office referred him. He immediately went into a barage of how much they do not like working with Dr. Winters office because he thinks they are unprofessional and very disorganized and never return calls. I could not beleive what I was hearing and brushed it off but what a mistake that was. Chris is rude, very unprofessional, offended me and did it in front of all his patients that were in his treatment room today. I felt so embarrashed as I got up off the table and walk out of that office in front of them all. But I did it with dignity and manners. I did not lose control of myself and say a word to him as he thrashed me with his critic of my questions of my therapy that I am paying for other than "I am done" and then I left. I had this clogged duct for 5 days and nothing was working, epsom salt baths, dangle feeding, massage, sunflower lecithin ect. Within two ultrasound treatments it was significantly better and after 3 it was gone! I can't express how kind the staff is there and how comfortable they made me feel! Mama's if you had a clog that won't resolve in a day this is seriously the answer!
