But I went primarily for used vinyl (which I'm a collector). Their used vinyl is relatively expensive and is not competitive with NYC stores. But since I won't take a trek to NYC due the Communist status and they don't arrest criminals. This store definitely has the 'Montclair" ambiance, "extreme arrogance". I loathe the city, 50 x at this store not a "peep" from any employee.

This is the largest selection (aside from corporate-owned Bauman's) of rare books I've seen that include the dust jacket- a collectors actual dream. It's the biggest breath of fresh air to find a rare book store owned by a woman, and to be treated like a human being. I normally get side-eyed from rare bookstore owners and some of the conversations I've had sound like: "May I see the Portrait of a Lady in the case?" "All of these books are at least $100.00 and up." ".....I know." "Do you have any Wilde?" "The book about the woman hiking alone? That's too new to be in our shop, Barnes & Noble would have it." "I'm talking about the 1800s poet." "Oh." I take it personally because while I look like a millennial who doesn't know what she's talking about, I treasure my rare books like they're my children. Sunday stayed AN EXTRA HOUR at her store while I looked and answered all of my questions that I had, never making me feel rushed or unwelcome. After selecting a first edition Fitzgerald, she wrapped it in bubble wrap for my travels back home and gave me an updated book with all of the rare book sellers in the country.

The selection was a little slim for a tall and plus size woman, however, like all thrift shops, lots of options for petite and small women, and for medium size men. Even so, and with a limited picked-over selection during my visit, I did find 3 items for the 3 bottles I donated and helped keep the cycle and art going. This place has a decent selection of board games, but the organization scheme is somewhat of a disaster. I think basically the games were vaguely in alphabetical order and then a tornado went through them. So if you have a particular game in mind, you might be able to find it by looking in the general area of the letter it begins with. But seriously very few people come to a board game store with a particular game in mind. A better (and more common) scheme would be by complexity - light vs medium vs heavy strategy, with coop games on a separate shelf. We asked the staff for recommendations, and the person who helped us was less than helpful. You could tell from his tone that he wanted us to leave. He pulled games arbitrarily off of the shelf without much explanation of why he even recommended them. All board games are at market price. I guess we will keep going into the city for our board games.
