My son has attended Crescent since Pre-K. I had a few school choices in mind, but after reading…read morereviews this is home. My child and I both love it; from the, teachers, upper staff, helping staff, the students, etc... Crescent sets your scholars up for success. Let me brag a little about a special teacher, Mrs. Norwood-Harris. She's amazing, I could not have asked for a better teacher. She cares for her students and not just there for a paycheck. She goes above and beyond! Thank you all for what you do :)

Enrolling at Crescent Academy was an overwhelming experience. Definitely a culture shock going from…read morea class of 15 to several classes with 20+ students in each classroom. The first graders have their own trailer with over 6 classrooms, just for 1st graders. I thought this was great for children to develop social skills and building relationships with other students. Crescent Academy offers extracurricular activities to include girl's scouts, boy scouts, music, soccer, etc. In addition to activities, they also offer academic assistance for students that may be falling below their academic level. I gather from staff's involvement with the programs they offer, they really care. As it relates to the staff building relationships with the parents, I do see an effort being made since the last time I wrote my review. My daughter participated in the girls scout program, she was a daisy. She had so much fun and there were so many events, trips and meetings to keep the girls just as engaged. She will definitely be participating next year as a brownie. Overall, I feel confident in the academic program Crescent Academy offers. We are looking forward to next year.

I have twin 17-yr-old boys who have gone through the West Bloomfield school system for their entire…read moreeducation. Sure there were some rough patches now and then with a few teachers but overall I am very satisfied with the outcome. One of the twins has Asperger's/ADHD (diagnosed and medicated). This district and especially the High School has an amazing support staff. They shepherded him through all the pitfalls HS can present which are exacerbated for a kid like him. Not only is he going to graduate, but after years of struggling with poor grades it looks like he will be in the 3.5GPA range. Yes he worked VERY hard to make that happen and NO they did not just push him through with good grades in order to move him along. The non-special needs twin went through their engineering program carrying a 4.2GPA. However, he discovered he has a knack for business due to their DECA program. He realized how much more he enjoys that realm rather than engineering thus saving us lots of wasted money on the wrong kind of college courses. Lastly, the principal, Mr. Watson, is the real deal. A straight-talking no-nonsense, common sense kinda guy. He has the respect of teachers, students and parents. No easy feat in today's world of everyone looking for a reason to be offended. All in all I highly recommend this school district.

Thank you Clarenceville Middle School.

This school is ridiculous. I had to give a star but if I had my choice I wouldn't have. Oh where to…read morestart. There is no communication with the teachers through out the year. You see them at conferences so if your child is failing you basically have no clue. There only is a tutoring class at lunch and after school but its just a place for kids to get their homework done. They take the electives from the kids who are behind in classes and give them another class of the same thing. They say it's to help them catch up but really come on. My son didn't score good on the math and reading when they tested in 5th grade so he had to take both classes to replace gym,and art.The big issue ive had with them started at botsford. Their bullying policy is just crazy to me. My son has had a kid bully him since 3rd grade. I was in and out of that school and thought for some reason since they would be going into the middle school it would get better. Well I was wrong. Teachers, staff basically any adult in there has done nothing all year. The principle told me that if a child puts their hands on another that is bullying but if they are name calling that it isn't. What? Sorry but bullying is both physical and mental... They have done nothing about it still. The teachers all wonder why my son is not passing when he is being harassed and no one is helping him so yhea it affects his learning. I thought My kids were suppose to be protected and if they needed help the staff would do their job but I was wrong. I'm no longer putting up with a nonsense school. My children will not be going back next year. The environment there is awful, the way they treat parent's and the children is sad and not right. The books in the library shouldn't be there. My 11 year old came home with a book on jeffrey dahmer. I mean really what ever happened to doing a book report on presidents. The stuff i read in that book was sick and not age appropriate for any middle school child.
