Blooms by Dragonfly is a small business in the heart of Old Town Zionsville that is a florist shop as well as Home Decor and Gift items. In addition to coolers with flower arrangements, my wife was quite impressed with the live plant offerings; so much so that she ended up making a purchase claiming the peace lilly was a fraction of the cost of some other large/chain florists she has shopped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to get advice on how best to maintain the live plant as well. The rest of the store has stuffed animals, inspirational messages on items, and general things to use as knick knacks or wall hangings. Cute shop! Note that upstairs is another business where you can get personalized signs made. Since I didn't find anyone to talk to up there, I haven't set it up as a new business. Review #2642 read more

We live in Zionsville, and wanted to support a local store. Glad I did! They were great. I checked out their website, had a question and gave them a call. My stepson was going on his first date which was also Homecoming so I thought a corsage would be appropriate. I ordered and paid for it a week in advance and picked it up the morning of the event. I arrived around 11am on Saturday and the corsage was waiting for me as promised. The corsage was beautiful, but wanting everything to be perfect for him I requested a few changes (which is by no means typical of me). Jan was so kind and understanding, she went above and beyond to create an even more beautiful corsage for my stepsons date. Disappointed. Bought a standing bouquet for a funeral. The picture shown for the basic bouquet looks just like the bouquet for the mid-priced bouquet I purchased, not larger in any way. I don't see any more volume in the mid-priced bouquet. Also, the height and width of the flowers is actually not very large, but the picture is not in relation to any nearby object you could measure it by. The flowers themselves were lovely, but if you buy this, I would recommend you just by the smaller bouquet. read more

A close friend recently passed away and we wanted to send the family something more than the usual flower arrangement - something that personalized our gift. The friend was a woodworker who made birdhouses and other creative items. I called Tish at Blooms and asked if I could send a birdhouse she could use as a base for a design. She readily agreed and created such an amazing gift. The family now has a lasting keepsake they love. And they can simply add another vase with flowers when the initial arrangement is gone. I ordered a bouquet of flowers the other day for my mother in the hospital and they were beautiful! You could really tell that time and care was given to this arrangement which I really appreciated since I was ordering from across the country and you never know what you're going to get. But they turned out great! My mother LOVED them and it even felt more personal and special knowing that the owner dropped them off herself. Cut out the middle man and go directly to Blooms to support a local business. The shop is very cute. I popped in here to pick up some flowers for a friend and they exceeded my expectations! They put together an arrangement while I waited and it was reasonably priced. This wasn't a cookie cutter arrangement either...no roses, Gerber daisies or carnations. It felt special. I will patronize this business again and encourage my husband to do so as well. read more

I was overcharged and underdelivered. One of the owners, Wendi, refused to make this right. I made two mistakes. 1) I trusted Wendi with my cc#; 2) I sent my husband to pick up the order, since I was busy setting up for a bridal shower. The order, though promised for 9:00, had not been started when he arrived at 9:03. It was finally finished at 9:40. Meanwhile, the woman there sat down for at least 15 minutes while she took a phone order, ignoring him and the urgency of our order. When he arrived with them I was stunned. They were about half the height I had ordered. They were terribly under-inflated and tied with kelly green ribbons....a color that clashed with the gold/aqua/black/white bouquets. To make matters worse, she tied the bunch of three for the mailbox to the others, creating a tangled mess. I reached out after the shower. Wendi's response was to take ZERO accountability for the mess they had made. She said they were busy that day preparing for three 10:00 funerals. My price ended up being way more than quoted, $83.46 (check out the image below vs a Party City balloon bouquet at half the price). After I posted bad reviews, she invited me for coffee, then lunch. I'm so disappointed with this local business! My kids are getting married across the street and we had hoped that we could get a bridal bouquet (very simple-roses and babies breath), a couple of boutonnières and a couple of corsages from them. Originally I was given the owners email and told to write her for an estimate. (Still waiting to hear from her). When my kids went into the shop the following day they were treated disrespectfully and told their wedding was far too small for this florist to bother with. I could have accepted a short time line (although how long does it take to assemble these items??), but to be brushed off so rudely left a horrible taste in my mouth. We love Zionsville and give a lot of time and money to the local businesses there, but I won't ever be darkening Blooms door ever again. Shame on them for turning away approximately $500 in business as "too small". This snobbery belongs somewhere outside of Indiana. read more

I ordered flowers for my mother in law, and specifically asked to include hydrangeas )her favorite flower). I called on the Friday before Mother's Day, and of course the shop is very busy processing so many orders. They were very accommodating and they delivered a beautiful bouquet on Friday. Within two days the hydrangeas in the arrangement were sadly wilted, and all the other flowers are still perky and intact. My mother in law humbly sent me a few pictures from either Sunday or Monday. So today is Tuesday and I have just spoken with Kathy and Wendy, both of whom are super kind and caring. (Wendy is the owner.) I asked if she would deliver a new bouquet of flowers (sturdy flowers, as we all know that hydrangeas are temperamental). I offered to pay for a new bouquet but Wendy insisted that she would send the new bouquet with no extra charge to me. This customer service garners my respect and loyalty. I certainly WILL be doing business with Blooms by Dragonfly again! Thank you to Wendy and Kathy for being thoughtful of your customers and the Zionsville community. I'm from out of town and called to order an arrangement to lift the spirits of my daughter and her husband at the death of their beloved dog. Wendi suggested a garden stone with a sweet message, and paw prints on it. It was perfect, and I also sent some flowers with it. My daughter and her husband loved it! A relative of ours ordered flowers through her go-to florist in Petoskey MI - the "wire" order was fulfilled at blooms. Three (3) arrangements were ordered and delivered - they clearly WERE lovely when arranged but when they were found on our front porch they were wilted and dead/ dying-- in no or little water. They had our name and address but no phone to coordinate delivery (google anyone?) so left on the porch. Called and left a Vm ( nicely conveyed) and no response - so called the next day and talked to owner who claimed she had not received vm - we explained our disappointment with the results (noting the design and flowers surely were lovely when arranged) and noted the sender spent much money and could we correct by sending her some flowers - the answer - no- she does not know a florist in MI and could not guarantee the quality .. and if I called the wire company to report, she would not be paid - so if I did this and she sent us new flowers "this is what could drive me out of business" - I explained I don't even know the name of the wire company I am just trying to give her the opportunity to correct the problem and show some good will - after clearly not happy with a calm customer but with a valid complaint, she begrudgingly said "what is it that would make you happy?!" (clearly not at all happy to make us happy)! I acquiesce to new flowers and when she asked when and whom to deliver I asked her to walk them 2 stores down and deliver. She delivered as requested -to my daughter ( who manages a neighboring store) and scowled and said nothing and left! So many great opportunities for customer recovery and to win over a new customer for life .. but failed at every turn! Crazy!! At the end of the day, she did what I agreed to; however, the lack of customer service makes the entire experience very disappointing. I really don't prefer writing reviews such as this, but felt obligated to do so. There is a wonderful option that knows customer service and design ... just down the street - head there instead. read more

Friendly staff is skilled and creative with their designs. I've ordered several times - sometimes in a pinch, and I'm always satisfied with the product and timeliness. Staff will go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. Be sure to visit the quaint shop in downtown Zionsville. Open, friendly, and offering a wide range of unique gifts for any occasion.
