My wife and I are fans of McNamara since we find many unique items (especially around holidays) in addition to the floral arrangements. This shop in the Geist area is much smaller than the other McNamaras I have visited. Though it has a bounty of beautiful bouquets and arrangements, there isn't room to carry as many home decor items that we search for. But even though the shop is smaller, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed stepping into a room full of color and floral scents...it felt like springtime! The woman who greeted me was friendly and let me know to take as much time to browse as I wanted and that she would be there to assist if I had any questions. Nice! I am pleased to say I had a lovely experience from beginning to end.. I have a regular florist I frequent closer to home, but I soon learned many florists would not cater to prom kids due to Mother's Day. McNamara was one of many locations I called but as soon as I spoke to Kelly she assured me that they would be happy to have our business and accommodate us. I've been extremely busy and had to just verbalize what I needed and Kelly made fantastic recommendations that I agreed with and instantly trusted her vision. She made lovely suggestions and I didn't think she was just trying to upsale me. I even called back to add more embellishments. They day of pick up I called to confirm my order would be ready and it was. Once we arrived the floral shop smelled SO divine and was so lovely. We experienced great customer service and they lady even came from around the counter to demonstrate how to put on the boutonnière. It complemented the corsage perfectly. Cute shop, fun shopping on Small business Saturday! Another shop mentioned that McNamara was having a percentage off on Christmas ornaments so I stopped by on shop small business Saturday. Wow, they have a lot of trees with lovely ornaments. They also do lovely flowers, I got a bouquet from here once as a gift. I ended up getting some floral filler pieces, artificial to decorate inside my house. The people there are very helpful and took the time to help me figure out what I needed for the look that I wanted to achieve. They also carry DeBrand's chocolate, which you can add to a floral gift .... or buy for yourself when you're out shopping all day. read more

I was able to get exactly what I've been looking for...and some! lol staff were extremely helpful and friendly! I had been looking for an aloe plant everywhere and bought 2 at McNamara's! If I were to own a business, have a deep bank account, or expenses just were not an issue for me, I'd be sure to scoop up the incredible Christmas decor here. The items here are festive and well thought out. I can see someone's imagination taking reality here. They take everyday Christmas decor and make Christmas art everyday during this time of season. Now on to their much praised (and well deserved of that) flower arrangements: To call them works of art would be close, but I prefer to dub thee an expression of love and creativity! Yes, they have some standard arrangements, but their standards are far beyond the typical flower shop. You are better off asking them to come up with something and just name flowers that you like! McNamara is not named best florist in Indianapolis in so many publications for no reason. Their real asset, their artists as employees, always go beyond the standard and into the imaginative. That being said, their designs don't go over the top. As beautiful and full of different items their flower arrangements or Christmas decor it, it still understated and has class. Much like an S-Class Benz is also known for being the best yet understated, McNamara also carries the same high price tag. That arrangement of a dozen roses will set you back $75 before delivery fees. But I guarantee that your wife/girlfriend/significant other will snap at least a dozen pics of that arrangement and remember it as the most beautiful arrangement she's ever received! read more

Ok, my husband had previously used this florist while deployed and we had an issue. They did fix it, life goes on. On September 1st, he used them again for my birthday. He is yet again still deployed. This time was NOTHING like the last time. SO IMPRESSED! Obviously my previous experience was just a fluke. We will be using them again in the future! I live 4 1/2 hours away from my granddaughter who is 4 years old. She was at preschool and had a seizure. She was taken to the ER and treated and released within a couple of hours. I really felt helpless to do anything. I called a florist (not McNamara) to see if they had anything I could send but that was a waste. I then called McNamara and they were very nice, empathetic and had several suggestions. I ended up sending my granddaughter a chocolate basket with a stuffed animal and some Paw Patrol balloons. (She loves Paw Patrol). Then when the delivery person took it to her he reached down and gave her a hug and said he hoped she felt better soon. They got this to her within a couple of hours of me calling them. I really felt they went above and beyond. Plus it thrilled my granddaughter and she loved the basket they put together. Thank you McNamara's. You will now be my "go to" in the Indianapolis area. read more

I was just there this morning with all the intention to purchase a plant for our living room. But Amanda was so clueless and so not interested in helping me that I left empty handed. When asked what some of the name of the plants she had in store were: "oh I'm sorry I don't know". When asked if a specific plant needed a lot of light: "oh I don't know, we move them around a lot you know". When asked if maybe she could call another store so that they could help us identifying the plants from her store: "oh we can only communicate by emails. You know there are some good apps that could do that for you on your phone?". I tried Amanda, I really did try understand what in the world you were there for but I just couldn't find any answer to that question. Maybe there's an app on my phone that could help me? You have lost a longtime customer McNamara. Make sure your staff actually know a thing or two about plants before putting them in charge of your customers in the future. read more

Sept/2013 My friend needed a last minute flower bouquet made up and told me any type flowers for $30.Went to McNamara & was told that they could not make one , and I could get a pre-made arraignment starting at $45. They were very nice, but I just wanted an inexpensive little arrangement.She told me I could pick out some flowers-take them home and cut them.And then she said obviously my friend didn't know the price of flowers. I left and went to another florist in town(NOT a grocery store) and got a beautiful bouquet in a vase- it took her all of 7 minutes for her to make it up. McMamara's has beautiful items but they are over priced, look on the net, you'll see. They sure didn't show me any "customer service". She made an insulting statement. read more

Excellent help when I was away from my home. They let me pick what I wanted and were lovely while I waited. I'd go again in a heart beat.

McNamara provided flowers for my dad's wake. Many of the arrangements included dead flowers. We were VERY disappointed.

The flowers at McNamara are amazing. I got some flowers there for my teachers last and the flowers lasted for 2weeks, I was really impressed. They were really beautiful too. They didn't start to wilt right away like you would expect and they held very well. I went into their design center and saw how they made their flower arrangements. They were all so beautiful. I really like them, they are really good at what they do. read more
