We had a blast here this Saturday as a family. My son loved the derecho slide and the corn palace. He was enamored with making bubbles so much he didn't want to leave. I enjoyed picking flowers and looking at the butterflies. The wine slushies were delicious and refreshing after picking the wildflowers/sunflowers. One of the first farms I visited, as a "sight-seer" and the FIRST farm I took my son to. Even as a new mom, all kinds of thoughts floating around in your head, consuming your attention, I was still able to relax and enjoy the setting - The goats were probably most interesting and active The different activity areas were cool and unexpected; swings, climbing apparatuses, "lounging"/seating areas, inflatable jumper, etc Definitely enough to keep children entertained & occupied. I went with a school for a field trip, so I can't post pictures of the students, but this place is awesome. I hadn't been there since before Covid, maybe longer, and it's got so many more attractions now! We took 2nd and 6th graders, and they all had a blast and had plenty to do. Some favorites were the bouncy pillow, the corn maze, the corn bin, and the huge "Derecho" slide! The people who run the farm were fantastic to work with, and very accommodating for our group. Our field trip price was $8/person and it was well worth it for the amount of awesome things for the kids to do! read more

I went once years ago for a work retreat. It was really fun! Went ziplining, pet the animals, lots of games available. The giant pillow though is awesome. I only got one other adult to jump with me, their freaking loss. Went again for the baby animals festival with my family, it was so fun! Probably the most fun I have had at a "family" event. There are obviously things you take your kids to because you love them, then there are things you also want to go to. This was one of them. Tons of cute baby animals to touch and bigger ones too. Tons of swings and games and slides, even for little ones. The corn box is awesome. The corn is actually pretty clean and not all dusty. Lots of shade and parent seating/peepholes for watching. The grill was just tenders/burgers/etc so we went home for lunch. The zipline was not open that day, so my husband was not pleased. But super fun day. They actually have lots of events there, wish I had looked sooner. read more

Great place to take kids. We went there while the baby animals were out. Piggies, bunnies, chick's, ducks, goats, and lambs. They have a huge air bladder buried so that it acts as a massive trampoline. They have a barrel train ride and hay rack rides. Basketball, baseball, and football alley. There is also a corn palace the small ones were having a blast in. They sell feed you can give to the goats, sheep, and lamas. The goats climb on platforms up high and you can feed them with conveyor systems from down below. Lots of fun. Zip lines operated in the fall. read more

We came up here after a friend recommended it as a spot to check out with the kiddos and we were blown away by this gem in the middle of a cornfield! Quite literally, you turn off a main road and drive 5 miles into the country before turning off the paved road and heading to a farm a mile down the way. Parking is plentiful...in a cornfield. The pricetag is $12 for anyone over the age of 3, and free if you're under. We came with a group of parents and 2 year olds, so it worked out very well. It looks like the sort of place that would only take cash, but they take cards and a use a square type system. Upon entry, you're greeted by a splendidly huge rocking chair. The whole place is just one entertaining area after another. The highlights include a giant inflatable jumping area - The jumping pillow - which adequately describes it, a number of car tracks for little kiddos and bigger kiddos, a petting zoo with a large cache of animals that love attention, the pig races, a John Deere pulling a bunch of water barrels made into a train, a huge slide made from water pipes and a pumpkin cannon that shoots mini pumpkins! For $5, you get three shots and one of targets is an astro van on top of an econoline van - nothing better than remembering your childhood ride by pelting if with a decorative gourd! The tractor ride was excellent, just long enough to keep everyone busy and they drop you off in a pumpkin patch if you're interested in grabbing one to go home with. We didn't make the corn maze, but the shout to Al Roker is classic and it's pretty amazing from the sky. The food stands have burgers and brats for ~$6 for a meal and while the pops are $2.75, we were will to pay it because the place was so much fun. We hung out for about 3 hours and if nap time hadn't been calling, we would have chilled here all day. Far and away one of the best family places we've found and one we'll be coming back to at least a few times per year. Well worth checking out regardless of how far you have to travel. read more

This place. Most recently we went to their newest event, the baby animal festival and it was a very fun & interactive event. The kids we took with us had a blast petting the baby bunnies, baby ducks, getting in with the baby goats and feeding the grown llamas & goats not to mention the pillow jumping, hay rack rides, slides and corn pit! The kiddos loved it. They also have a bunch of adult events as well! We've gone to Cuisine in the Corn the last 3 years. It's a fundraiser for Four Oaks where you have a social hour/hors d'oeuvres before hand then hop on the hay wagons to be taken out into the middle of corn field!! There's always someone playing live music out there and your served a 3 or 4 course meal as the sun sets and you finish gazing at the stars with candles lit in the table. The staff is top notch, the gift shop is fun and caramel apples are worth traveling for! read more

I was here several years ago with my granddaughter and thought it was pricey, but things have changed. I took 2 grandchildren this time, 3 and 7, and they had the greatest time. Lots of activities for them that they loved. We went to see the baby animals, and it wasn't just looking, but they got to pet the goats, bunnies, and chicks. The bouncy pad was a huge hit. We ate lunch and I found the prices not bad for an entertainment venue. They loved the hay rack ride, sliced, and panning for gems. Very nice playground. I wish they had a few more placed to sit for the adults while the kids play. They probably would have gotten to play longer, but grandma was hot standing in the sun. We were staying in Muscatine Iowa. Went to the Bloomsbury farm they had Halloween attractions haunted houses. We had a wonderful time that my family is never going to forget. They had everything for all ages. My husband and I got on a few swings slides so it's definitely sturdy enough to hold you that's the question. Lol The staff was super friendly and fun. We got some coffee and food it was delicious. The parking lot was huge a lot of parking spots it's not hard to fine just stick to the directions and I'll get you there I used Google maps. Something we loved the most was the pig and duck races never seen anything like it before. You can feed any of the animals that are on the farm so much space and table seating. This is a place I'd recommend to go with your family and friends something you're not gonna regret. read more

While the farm's attractions are geared more towards children, adults can enjoy seeing all the animals and sampling the fudge and other treats. Went for scream acres, arrived there at 8. We thought it would be a fun Saturday night, but we didn't even end up getting to the haunts before we left. The wait time is astronomical. Two hours, and we were only halfway to our group being called. The facilities are way too small for the amount of people that attended. Ended up huddled in a corner and sitting on the concrete floor of a shed because there were only about 8 tables in it. You would think, for 40 bucks a person, you'd be able to easily find a seat. And you know what? Maybe the haunts are good. Maybe they have the best haunted corn maze around. Still don't think it would be worth the wait and uncomfort. read more

This is one of my favorite fall places in Iowa. I enjoyed my visit here before I was a mom, and have found a new appreciation for it since becoming a mom. We brought our almost 2 year old to Bloomsbury Farm about a month ago and her joy and excitement at being there was utterly touching. She was able to feed the goats and llama with her bare hands and she was tickled with glee. She couldn't get enough of the silo filled with corn kernels and we pretty much had to pull her out so we could go home. Between burying her dad under the kernels and going down the slide, we probably spent a good hour in the silo alone! Bloomsbuy Farm has a fantastic corn maize that is challenging and worth the effort. The pig races are silly but you can't help but get caught up in the fun :). Bloomsbury Farm also has a zip line ride (but it's about $20 a person), a pumpkin blaster, 2 haunted houses (in the fall), hay rides, a pumpkin patch (in the fall), and other things I haven't had the chance to enjoy yet. There's also a small store that sells stuffed animals, home decor, and other kitchy things. Their popcorn and fudge are not to be missed. Yes the cost of admissions can add up, but for countless hours of fun, it's worth the price. Tickets are cheaper on weekdays, coming in at $8.50 a person and on weekends, the price goes up to $12.00 and it does not include tax. Children under 3 are free, so take advantage of that while you can! This is a fun spot for the kids. We went during the day on a weekend and did not have to wait long for the haunted houses and yes, I did find them scary. The corn maze was actually quite challenging - I thought it would be something lame for the little ones, but we were lost quite a while - long enough to elicit a little panic! Even the 14 year old enjoyed the day, so that's something ;) I will say that it is expensive for a family and the zip line and pumpkin shooter are extra, which was not great. I think if the price were cheaper, you would not see any negative reviews. I would think $8 a person is more reasonable, but the issue with events like this in Iowa is that they can't be operated year round, so if you want something nice, it will be more expensive than you might expect. read more

This is my favorite place to draw to every year for the month of October, Besides my birth month this place offers a wide variety of activities for family and friends of all ages and do and never be bored. Their Halloween haunted houses are really awesome and their hard work put into their work for what you get really shows. I am so impressed with this farm! It was so much fun taking the kiddos here this weekend. We have been to another pumpkin farm in the past, but Bloomsbury Farm is where we will be coming back to next year as well. They have hay rack rides, a huge corn maze, a kid's corn maze, piglet races (my favorite!) two "dred sheds" (haunted houses) that were legitimately creepy/scary, a teacup pig, a big ol' fat pig, rabbits, different goats, llamas, ducks, chickens, Holstein calf, a "jumping pillow" aka safe trampoline thing, barrel train rides, giant checkers and ticktacktoe and probably a few more things I am forgetting to mention. One thing you may want to know in advance is the jumping pillow is an extra $2 per person (unlimited jumping). Everything is spaced out really nice so you don't really feel crowded. Their gift shop was okay. I didn't find anything except their delicious fudge! They had like, 20 flavors and a great deal: buy 4, get 2 free. SOLD. They also had some beautiful squashes, gourds, and of course, pumpkins! We will be back again next year. Very well run establishment and very friendly employees. read more

Bloomsbury farm is a waste of time and money. For an adult, it costs $12 to get in - and anything else you want or want to do is an additional cost. Most of the attractions offered were about as exciting as what you could find at any city park. The llama in the petting zoo charged people that approached the fence and didn't immediately shove a food pebble thing down its long neck. It kept stalking people along the fence lines and was just waiting to spit on some poor little kid. The petting zoo would be a happier environment if the llamas were eradicated. In their place, there should be more Pygmy goats and piglets. The food sucked and ranged in price from $3-5. A bag of kettle corn cost $6. I suppose it's an exciting place to get to see if you're under 5 years of age, but every other pumpkin patch in the area offers cheaper prices and the same (if not better) attractions. Bloomsbury offers a large jumping cushion, pig races, some small racing bicycle type thing for little kids, a $20 zip line ride, a pumpkin blaster gun thing, a corn pit with slides, a small petting zoo, a food area, the gift shop, hay rack rides to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and two haunted houses. With as much money as they are bringing in, you think they could offer some better crap to do. read more

Bloomsbury Farm is all about money. They are very limiting in who they let in their "clique" in terms of allowing businesses to come and provide fun events and entertainment for kids and families. Their Halloween corn maze is WAY overpriced. Trust me, Eastern Iowa, you can do much better than Bloomsbury Farms! There are lots of organizations that provide entertainment and allow you to come and share your organization without the greed! read more
