The very worst post office in the city. They have lost my mail, they are very flippant and rude. Many people have complained about this outlet but they continue to be able to run their shoddy service. I believe Canada Post should shut them down. If you are reading this, do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. As you can see there are a mix of 1 and 5 star reviews. The service is very inconsistent. Sometimes the guys are nice and sometimes they're abrupt and rude. Today they were not nice. The original owners would have never acted this way. I want to support 'local business' but their items are overpriced and they have a bad attitude. The young men running the outlet are efficient, organized and have the best customer service skills that I have come across in the GTA. Always smiling and willing to lend a hand if you need it. Lots of office supplies available that aren't found in a lot of other retail outlets. Even when their is a line up it moves quickly and their hours of operation exceed what regular postal outlets offer. Visiting this location to do my mailing is enjoyable and I love that they can greet me by name every time I'm in the store. The people who run this franchise do a fine job. The hours of operation are quite reasonable and in my frequent dealings with them, I have found them to be pleasant and efficient. During the COVID-19 crisis, they have gone out of their way to make sure that essential packages are delivered and I've seen them always willing to help the terminally confused. Frankly, the level of service they offer is superior to other Canada Post outlets. Some of the reviews here seem to expect a level of service that's not offered by public service entity. If you want to be able to call and check on the details of your package, there are quite a few private mailbox facilities is the area that offers these services and more - for approx. $20 per month. read more

If you've experienced poor customer services here, don't just write a review, call Canada Post and file a complaint. It only takes a few minutes and you might actually help to achieve something. Here's CP's toll free number: 1-866-607-6301 Canada Post licenses these post office franchisees and they could give that contract to someone who wants to operate this business instead. I did all my shipping last year from the new Canada Post office at Bloor and Ossington, which is great. It's very clean in there, the staff are of normal temperament, and the wait is never long. Here's my Bloorcourt S&P Survival Guide, should you find that dreaded Bloorcourt slip at your door. I've lifted a lot from the Soup Nazi here. With as little motion and character expression as possible, follow these rules: Step 1 - Go when the line is shorter (3 people or less) and their fuse will be longer. Step 2 - Approach counter only after last customer has stepped out of way or departed. Step 3 - State "picking up" and nothing else. Step 4 - Have your ID ready in advance and present it now. Have back up ID ready. While you're at it, bring your birth certificate, deed to your house, and a credit report. You never know and you certainly don't want to have to return! Step 5 - Shut up and wait while your ID is examined, package looked up, and retrieved. Step 6 - Examine the package yourself, sign (and pay if you have to) for it. Step 7 - Step to the side. Whatever you do, don't waste their time with needless formalities and pleasantries. Step 8 - Exit promptly. Don't touch anything on your way out! If you don't think you can follow this guide, you can call Canada Post and make a case for them to re-deliver the package to your door. This worked once for me when a friend shipped a package to my place while she was living abroad, before I planned to visit her. She didn't put c/o on the label, so it was just her name and of course BSC refused to give to me even though it was my exact address. A couple of the positive reviewers blame the customers for the treatment they receive. Despite all the negative reviews I've only had good experiences for the handful of times I've used this post office. The gentleman behind the counter is very efficient and helpful and tries to get out on your way as quickly as possible. Sure he was rude to another customer once while I was there, but the customer started out being an ass in the first place and deserved the tongue lashing he got from the owner. read more

If you live in the 'hood and missed signing for a package, this is the place you will be sent to pick it up. Which is funny considering the big huge fancy post office is just a block away, but for some reason they have the racket on picking up packages that have had missed deliveries. This is a nice little postal outlet, the lines are usually short and the staff very pleasant. They have some fun items like postcards and your usual mail supplies, as well as some photo developing and other services. I generally only go in when I need to pick something up or when the line at the big post office is too long. They seem to have a few things on sale there that are a bit overpriced for sort of generic/outdated novelty mailers and such, but I think if you're there with a specific purpose you won't likely be sucked in by them anyway. read more

As hard as the two individuals who are employed here work, I feel Canada Post should revoke their franchise. It would be much more convenient to have a post office in the neighborhood with longer hours. This business frequently closes at 7pm. On top of that, the two employees only have one cash register/computer to work from, so only one customer at a time can be served. This seems ridiculous, considering there are frequently lines out the door between 4-7pm. The only other post office in the neighbourhood closes at 5:30pm, so it's not like I can just "go somewhere else". There's no blame here, it's just a poorly executed service that I go out of my way to avoid. read more

This family run business provides the best service. We are here regularly shipping and receiving items and they are always super helpful. We have even seer up a PO Box to receeivE all online purchases so that we don't risk packages being stolen from our from door. Service works great! read more

23rd July 2018 2pm my post on kijiji had been replied by a guy who pre-sent the money through the "Transfer On Hold...Until Shipment Tracking Number Is Provided" I came to the post office to send the parcel. The lady seemed to know a lot about the case and asked me if i had received my money yet. Then she checked the email for me and told me to send when i got the money. It turned out to be a fraud. These people are MEAN! As you take your place in line you start to dread your turn as you witness the service reps barking orders and chastising anyone silly enough to try to buy stamps or send mail here. The way they talk to people makes me cringe. I do not know why I have to go here to pick up my parcels when the actual post office is only around the corner. The people who work at the actual post office are NICE. I go to the actual post office for all other post-related business but unfortunately all parcels end up in this hell hole. Going here to pick up a parcel is like entering a Monty Python skit - a tiresome, bureaucratic pretzel. On this last occasion a fellow customer helped me out and signed for my parcel because they would not accept my ID - it is not on their list. Apparently I cannot pick up my own mail but anyone with a driver's license can. The behind-the-counter guy did read us the entire parcel-pick-up rule book so that was a nice bonus. read more

Until today, I've had reasonably alright experiences at this place - just picking up packages. But that all changed today. I was sending a lock back to Kryptonite. The fella told me to grab the $1.82 package. So I did. And I filled it out. Then we put the lock in - the package was too small - the lock stuck out by 3 inches. My fault obviously - I should've checked the size before I filled out the envelope. But his wife (I assume) said, rather accusatory, "You grabbed the wrong package!" I responded, "Sorry. I just grabbed the one he told me to get." Now...here's where it gets interesting. Rather then tell me to get a bigger envelope, she proceeded to try to package the lock anyway and it was looking like a right, bloody mess. I wonder why she didn't ask me to get another package? Well, she didn't want to have to absorb the COST (even though I wouldn't have thought twice about buying another one.) She felt responsible I guess for the envelope and rather than package it properly, she tried to save two dollars and do a ridiculous job mailing a package with the lock sticking out the end by 3 inches. So when I saw this, it just rubbed me the wrong way. So I grabbed another package and told them to repackage it and that I didn't want to pay for it, because I'd only followed his instructions. They didn't like this. And protested. He said he was only trying to help and that he figured I'd be 'smart' enough to check the package on my own. I said, 'Wow. So now you're insulting my intelligence?' Then he proceeded to deny he'd ever said the offending remark. Arseholes! Both of them. Avoid. read more

I have used this post office twice and been quite happy with the service. Although they are understaffed at peak times, the man who works there has always taken the time to explain the best shipping options for me (express, overnight, etc.). I have found that he tries to be very efficient and patient. I am not sure about the other employees - although one time I was there another employee was lurking around and not offering to help any customers. read more

Today I purposely took work off and stayed at home to wait for a package to arrive at my door. Why would some one take time off work to wait around for a package? Was it important? Was I excited? No. I was taking all measures to insure that I wouldn't truly be wasting my time tomorrow trying to pick up my package at 998 Bloor st. west. My first visit to the post office was one of the worst experiences I've had in bloordale. I entered the store with intentions to be quick, discrete and courteous. I brought my bike in smoothly through the door and within 3 feet of walking into the store the owners are yelling at the top of their lungs for me to take my bike outside. I saw frightened customers look at them and back at me as I tried to make a point. They wouldn't listen. It does not seem fair to me that people with strollers, walkers, skateboards, bags, shoes, umbrellas etc. are allowed in the store but my $2500.00 bike needs to be "locked outside" where it can be stolen? Funny thing was I was picking up bike parts. so bikes are not allowed in the store... but bike parts are? makes no sense. I came here with a ton of things to scan and a backcheck to complete for a potential employer. I'd never been through that process before, and the guy who works there took the time to explain the process to me. He scanned all the items I had, and put them onto my USB drive for me. What I appreciated the most was that he made sure I could see he deleted all my scanned files from their computer afterwards, and deleted them permanently from the recycle bin. It's something I would have asked for anyway, but he was already on top of it! read more

I'm doing what I can to change the delivery location of my mail from this post office. While I understand that the the people who work there are hard working, they also never answer their phones. As a result, the only way I can find out if a package has arrived there for pick up is to actually go there in person. This is a tremendous waste of time. read more

I went to get photograph copies today for my parents. Asked the store owner to print 4 photographs each for my Mom and Dad (8 photographs in total). I was charged 58.74 dollars. I was shocked to pay such a high amount. I compared later their prices with other stores. Bloorcourt Stationery & Postal Outlet is certainly charging way higher prices than other similar service providers. This is not fair. We work hard to earn money. I did not have the experience that other people seem to be having at this location. The man I dealt with was kind and did everything by the manual. Yeah you're not going to get a bubbly greeting in here, but they will get the job done right. To the other people saying that they wouldn't give up packages even with ID-- there is a 99 percent chance your ID doesn't have your current address on it. It doesn't matter if you have bills or etc, Canada Post makes it very clear in their guidelines that a package cannot be released without an ID that has the delivery address on it. Maybe you shills take that up with Canada Post themselves, this man is just following the rules he has been given. read more

My daughter had a bad experience trying to pick up a parcel for my grandson. I had order something for him from Amazon. As I live over an hour away it seemed the prudent thing to have the parcel sent to a PO near them. So wrong! On her first attempt, the PO section in Bloorcourt Stationery & Post was closed. Fair enough. On the second attempt he would not give her the parcel in spite of the fact she had proper identification. She was told she'd need a signed copy of the email I received. So, she drove the hour plus to get it. Oddly enough my printer spit out 3 copies. I signed them all and she returned. She had told me of the rude and difficult way she'd been treated during her first two attempts so, I wrote a little note on one of the signed copies that said, "Don't make me come down there". When she met with the same rude service, refusal to give her the parcel and denial that he'd ever told her she required a signed copy she gave him the copy with my hopefully humorous, tongue-in-cheek little note he scrunched it up and threw it at her. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable anywhere but in a Canada Post station? Absolutely not. My daughter this rude man also held her driver's license in her face and when she tried to get it he wouldn't let go. She was texting me from the store so I asked for their phone number. It would ring and ring and ring then a click to answer and silence. After several seconds a dial tone. On my 6th or 7th attempt a woman's voice answered. Maybe they guessed I wasn't giving up. She asked me to call back in 10 min. because the manager was not there. I asked for his name and said I would not hang up because it took so long to get through. "I'll wait," I said. She kept explaining I should call back and I kept telling her I wasn't hanging up and if she didn't let me wait and talk to the manager I was calling Canada Post. She hung up. I called Canada Post and have lodged an official complaint. This is just not proper treatment of customers. I've spent quite a bit of time reading through all the complaints and the odd compliment. Some of these all very similar complaints date back to 2011. What is Canada Post thinking? Surely there are other businesses who know how to treat customers who could pick up the franchise. While I'm having my little rant I'd like to mention one post that said the people who were yelled at probably started and deserved the poor treatment. I'm not arguing your point, in spite of so many similar complaints but, I'm asking, whatever happened to the customer is always right? I'm following up my telephone complaint in writing yes, via Canada Post. I've copied out the pages from these ratings to send along with my letter. Picking up a package at this Post Office is a huge hassle because the customer service is so slow. The owner can take up to 45 minutes to process 10 customers. The hours are not convenient. And the owners are rude to their customers. They only have one cashier and seem to take their time even when they have a long line. I have tried to change my default post office with no success. I've been using this postal outlet for years and have had nothing but pleasant service by the husband and wife team...but I am always pleasant with them. Sure, sometimes the line ups overwhelm them and sometimes people make mistakes (god forbid!) but they are quick to correct them in a sincerely apologetic manner. Terrible, terrible experiences here. So many times I went here for the same packages and the elderly Indian lady who runs the place refused to cooperate, told me my packages were not at this location when they were. Multiple of my packages were returned to sender because she would not give them to me. I gave her my name, address, slip, tracking number, everything. The delivery companies confirmed for me that this was the drop off location. I've never experienced something like this. I recommend you arrange for your packages to be delivered elsewhere. read more

In my experience, the couple who run this place get a lot of crap from the people who come in - lots of whom seem to have a chip on their shoulders to begin with. I've been in there quite a few times and seen other people start out very confrontational - so it's no surprise those people have a bad interaction. Because this couple are immigrants, for whom English is not their first language, I would even say that some of the problem is just plain old racism toward them. I have noticed that Canadians generally have very little tolerance in getting service from anyone who has an accent. These people have always been nice and helpful to me. This guy has lost an application I had to send to a company with important ID information. The day I was in there he told me I was good to go, no receipt no tracking number Nothing . Being such a humble and trusting person new to the city I accepted that. On top of being a scab post office and stealing good paying jobs away from unionized postal employees, the two owners of this shop cut corners and can be very flip when treating your important mail. When I brought my tax return, yeah I'm old school with that, he offered more expensive options, when I said first class should be sufficient, he careless tossed it in the bin and said we'lol se what happens in a menacing tone. While I am sure, 1. He won't do anything, 2. It should get there no problem, it really seemed like he was trying to persuade me into spending more with a trite attitude. I love having to deal with Bloorcourt Stationery & Post. The couple that work there (Smita & Dave) are the most helpful and courteous people. They go out of their way to assist you. They let you know the different options that are available for your parcels, letters etc. They are most patient and extremely attentive to one's needs. Our family has had their passport pictures done there and they did a fabulous job. I've witnessed extremely rude customers come in yelling and cursing because they have to pay certain rates for postage. Hey, we all have to pay what is req'd. There were times that if I was in that couple's place, I would have called the police to have certain customers removed. There is no need to be rude, disrespectful, arrogant, acting like a real donkey. Why do people have to behave in such a negative manner. Then they complain. I will always deal with those people. i absolutely hate that my packages get dropped off here. i wish there was a way to change this as my "local" post office. not only is this further than other post offices in my area, i HATE coming here. there is always a line, and one person working (or others "working" aka standing behind the counter not doing anything but glaring at the customers like we're ruining your day). the staff are rude, inconsiderate and i usually have to come back multiple times because my packages are never processed on time. if any one is aware of how you can get canada post to switch post office locations, PLEASE let me know. i would jump with overwhelming joy if i never had to step foot in this shit hole again. read more

Now I'll be honest. I have only been here twice, having lived in the neighbourhood for almost 3 years so I'll try to be as nice as I possibly can with this review. The first occasion I had the pleasure of dealing with Bloorcourt Stationery & Post was to pickup a passport which had been sent to me by courier and I had missed the delivery. Needless to say, the person behind the counter (a young man) bust my balls every which way he could before I could get my passport handed over. As I did not have any valid drivers license at the time, he requested my passport (which was in the envelope) and so the Mexican standoff began. After persuading him several times that the only other valid ID that they can accept is in the package I am waiting to pickup and after offering more than enough alternative identification, he handed over the goods. That was nothing compared to today however. Imagine the worst day in work ever. A complete bitch of a day. Then cycling home in the blazing heat in rush-hour traffic and THEN, at the last minute getting home and see a missed delivery on a letter. Then to make it worse, I realised it was for pickup at Bloorcourt Stationery & Post. Holy fuck. So I go down there on bike, to pickup and I see what I presume to be a husband and wife duo behind the counter. YOU ARE NOT ALLOW BIKES IN HERE he yells at me, as I stand there patiently, covered in sweat. I'm sorry, I apologised to the man, but I was in a rush home from work and I didn't have time to lock my bike up. He looked at me as if I had taken a huge shit all over his store. He then began to ramble on about how we are all in a rush and I should have some respect for his 'company policy'!! I apologised again being as sincere as I could and he still rambled on shouting at me as I left "I'm sure you wont bring your bike in here again". I hope I never miss another parcel again.
