Very rude staff, I went there looking for a place to live. First time I got an email with 2 different #'s called the office no one answered, the called the second number and this lady started yelling "call the office" "call the office"" call the office" she repeated herself a couple of time. Then, decided to give a second chance, when to the office and this person was so sweet the first day we met and the next time she was so rude, she was yelling at me for no reason, stating that there was so much going on at their office, a lot of chaos. Investors beware! In 2012, I got a rental property under contract. The seller informed me that the property had good tenants and was being managed by BVR. I contacted BVR when I was about 2 weeks from closing to notify them the house was in escrow and my intention was to keep everything the same. They were very nice and cooperative. Couple days later, my seller notified me that 'someone' contacted her who was also interested in buying the house. She said they were encouraging her to breach the contract and accept their offer instead. Fortunately for me, the seller decided to follow thru with the agreed contract; however, I confirmed after closing that 'someone' was BVR. Needless to say, I was not pleased. I promptly notified BVR after I became new owner that I longer required their property management services. They were still courteous and said they were sorry to hear that. They said they would notify the tenant immediately and they would forward next month's rent to me. Two weeks later, BVR notified me that they forwarded the new rent (minus their commission). I (calmly) informed BVR that they were not entitled to subtract anything from the rent monies (except 45cents for a stamp). They told me too bad!! That's my story and it certainly seems to me BVR allowed greed to cloud their view of the big picture. Too bad for them... I'm much happier with my new property management company. read more

I went in looking for a home to rent but there wasn't any available. The receptionist who is very kind, took my name and number and said she'd call me when something became available. I brushed it off thinking my number would end up in the trash but nope! 2 weeks later she called me back and let me know a house was available. They heard me out on mine and my boyfriends situation (we got denied at another property management place) and were very understanding. I feel as though they were/are really pulling for us. I'm still waiting to hear back from them but I wanted to do this in case I get denied, because then I'll get bitter lol. They're a small business but I feel it's what makes them great. read more

At the beginning of our relationship as new renters, everything communication wise was great. They gave us a house "clean" yet had roaches and rodents. They immediately got Vega Pest Control and Primo to solve the issue, which they did. The house was given to us unpainted and we were told the owner was one the Cheapest landlords they had and that he cared more about the landscaping than the interior of the home. They did not paint. We were told that The previous renters had an autistic child and that they had lived there for 5 years and that is why the house was in that condition but that it was livable and decent. Our walls were so dirty but since we wanted the house, we asked if we could paint the walls. They directed us to an old can of paint in the garage which we took to Home depot, had matched and begun to paint all the common areas. We noticed as the paint dried it looked cleaner than the already dingy walls but the paint was matched to what they provided. The carpets were disgusting and needed replacing but since our landlord was so cheap, he would not replace them. The carpets were cleaned prior to us moving in (the day before actually because they waited till the last minute). My son got a really bad skin issue from the carpet which we brought up but nothing was done. I cleaned that house for 3 days before I started unloading the boxes because "their version of clean" was totally different from ours. I lined all the drawers because there were crumbs and syrup stains in the kitchen drawers (They have a cleaning lady they use, and they highly recommend her, Nicole to be exact yet she is not clean herself- quoting her on her own words). Like I said, we had a great relationship until it was time to leave... We gave our notice and left the house cleaner and in better condition than what they left it prior to us yet we were deducted from our security deposit to paint the 11 walls we painted with their paint, a cleaning fee, and to clean the carpets. We were shocked to say the least. The fees taken from our deposit to us seems like an injustice due to the circumstances of the whole ordeal. I have lived in many rentals, in FL and here in CA and I have never been charged anything. We have always recieved our security deposit in full. It just seemed odd that they would charge us for these items yet when we moved in they could not do that for us prior to us moving in. Just boggles our minds that they possibly do this on the regular... charge tenants for work and probably don't do it. If we wouldn't had these experiences, I would have probably given them 5 stars. But it was a very bad experience for us being the tenants that we are. We believe in taking care of the homes we rent as if it was ours. Every inspection they boasted how clean our house was and how they wished all their renters were like us. Not once did they say anything negative about the walls, totally contrary... They said how nice and clean the walls were. Hence we did not have any furniture covering the walls in question and the house had plenty of windows and light to see them. Not onky will we never rent from them as a property management company, but when we buy in the area, we cannot consider using them to purchase either. Wish them the best... One day it will turn around on them. They needed that $700 more than we did. read more

I used BVR office to manage my rental property in Los Banos from 2012-2014 then I sold the property for profit. In the 2-year time period, I had had no issue with the office but a lot of positive things to talk about. Diane and Elizabeth always showed their effort to work for my interest. They were always there for me when I came down to visit the property even on their day off. Whenever there was a need to spend money on fixing things, they always worked very closely with me and vendors to get the most reasonable price for the issues. This is the big thing for me because I had some bad experience in the past with other property management firm, who tried to get % commission out of the repair cost. Another plus was the communication, Diane and Elizabeth always answered their cell phone and emails. There are many more great things I can talk about BVR when comparing them with other firms I had used in the past. I will surely use BVR again in the future if I am fortunate enough to have another investment in the area. read more
